"Totally Fine" by Nick Spalding
Each book I read and review starts off by me saying that they all start with 5 stars and I'm always hopeful that they will all still be firmly in place by the time I close the back cover. I'm not shy about removing stars if I feel it's necessary, but it always breaks my heart. I always give my reasons for each removal - they don't just disappear.
Let's get going with the reading and reviewing shall we?
I'm looking forward to reading this book because it feels like someone has reached inside me and taken my feelings word for word and put them on the page, according to the description on the site... how will I feel when I've started reading it though?
So far so good with seeing right inside me! There are obviously things different, but the author has got the feel of what goes on inside me, spot on.
There's been a mention of a well-known dinosaur film series, so in fairness to all the other books I've read, the first star is wobbly for Trademark reasons, but I'm really hoping it won't pop off for the rest of the book and this can be a 5 star book, judging by the first few pages alone!
I'm up to page 51 of 295 so I think it's a suitable place to stop for an early lunch.
These chapters are waaay too long for me, so that and the Trademark infringements mean that the first star is coming off at the end of chapter 3.
I've just counted chapter 8's number of pages - 36!! That's more like two chapters for me!!
The author handled the ending so well and it gave a nice rounded feeling to the book. Well worth a read if you can forgive the Trademark usage and the too-long chapters.
