After paying literally hundreds for our electricity every month, we decided to do our own meter readings from then on.
We're over £700 in credit with the electricity company, but they still want to increase our monthly fees from £70 to over £100 a month!
Steve's rejected it and will still be paying the £70 a month, but that's how we got so much in credit... we paid the increased amount without checking the metre reading because we thought we had to!
My advice? Do your own metre reading every month and don't pay the extra even if they ask for it!
