Today's lunch was 15 potato croquettes and a couple of portions of boiled carrots along with a squirt of brown sauce. The croquettes were only in the oven for 11 minutes (instead of the 18-20 minutes that it says on the packet) and were cold when I bit into them, but at least they weren't still frozen, so I'm grateful for small mercies.
I'm emptying the freezers ready for Tuesday's grocery delivery of the tins of baked beans and tins of spaghetti hoops that I'll be having from Wednesday onwards. I know that they can definitely be cooked and plated up in the 10 minutes that I get with my carers after they've signed in and put their PPE on then the same in reverse. I'm supposed to get them for 30 minutes twice a day but I don't think there has been a single carer who has stayed that long and they all leave after 20 minutes, with 10 of those being putting on and taking off their PPE and signing in/out.
I guess I've just gotta get used to tinned food that takes 10 minutes to heat up now instead of the healthy meals I was hoping for and was promised back in January 🤷
Here's today's lunch photo:
