If you've read any of my other recent book reviews, you'll already know that I start them all off in the same way - by saying that every book I read and review starts off with the full surgery-load of 5 stars and that I'm always hopeful that they will all still be stuck firmly in place by the time I close the back cover. You'll also know that I'm not shy about removing stars but that I always give my reasons for taking off each one.
I can't remember what happened in the previous 3 books so I'm going to read this with an open mind and hope that I don't have to rely on my crummy memory as I read.
I'm starting to read this about an hour before I have my lunch, so I hope there isn't anything too gross otherwise I won't want to eat! lol
Let's get started with the reading and reviewing shall we?
I'm already up to page 29 and I'm still in the first chapter lol Time for a wee and my lunch before I carry on reading I think lol
Up to chapter 2 on page 50 now so it was a looooong chapter but so so worth it!
It was going so well until the name of a song and singer appeared. I'm not sure what the legalities are with that, but the first star is unfortunately wobbly now :-(
Chapter 2 was considerably shorter at only 11 pages and it got me on the edge several times! It ended positively though, thankfully.
Another short chapter which was good... still very much 5 stars!
ooh! I wasn't expecting what happened in chapter 4! It sounds like it was just what Steve needed though!
Chapter 5 was good and a relief... no spoilers, don't worry, but Frankie got what he deserved.
Chapter 6 was more like a political rant than the rest of the book, which was a disappointing way to finish unfortunately.
Overall a really good, quickish read though.
