Book Review: "Professor Daddies: An Age Gap Reverse Harem Romance" by Liz Archer

"Professor Daddies: An Age Gap Reverse Harem Romance" by Liz Archer

⭐ out of 5

If you’ve seen any of my recent book reviews (particularly in the "Reverse Harem Daddies" series), you’ll know that I typically start each book with a full 5 stars, and I always hope they will maintain that rating until I finish. You’ll also be aware that I’m not hesitant to deduct stars if I find it necessary, and I always explain my reasoning for any deductions in the review — stars don’t just vanish without justification.

I’ve read at least three (maybe four) books in this series, and my last two by the same author were so disappointing that I couldn’t bring myself to finish them... I only made it to chapter 4 in the previous one before giving up! However, the first book I read was a 5-star read, so I’m optimistic that this one will be as well.

Let’s dive into the reading and reviewing while I wait for my two deliveries to arrive.

Oh! The first chapter was both unexpected and predictable at the same time. The other books in this series have also started similarly... an amazing first chapter to draw me in, followed by a rapid decline—I really hope this book breaks that trend!

I just finished the second chapter, and I hope I’m mistaken, but I’m concerned there might be a humiliating theme throughout this book... that would be a major turn-off for me, and the first star is already shaky due to the initial humiliation in chapter 2.

Ugh... that’s the second unpleasant/humiliating character introduced in just over a chapter, so the first star is definitely coming off.

Three more characters were introduced in chapter two, and the second and third characters have been named, indicating they will likely appear later in the book as well. I’ve already forgotten the names and personalities of the characters I’ve encountered so far, and I’m only on page 22, so another star is coming off... will this be my third Did Not Finish in a row by this author?

By the end of chapter 3, I’m more confused than ever... too many different characters have been introduced far too quickly, and I hate to admit it, but I’m starting to zone out and not enjoying what I’m reading, so another star is coming off... I hope I’m wrong, but unless the story significantly improves in chapter four, it looks like it’ll be my third Did Not Finish in a row.

The final star is coming off on page 41 because of the second word that you'd expect to hear in an X-rated film rather than read in a book and both words have totally spoilt the book.

My third DNF in a row unfortunately.
