Steve's just edited the groceries...

...and to his credit he noticed that I didn't have any of my bottles of pop on there and the monetary break-down for tomorrow's shop now looks like this:

My stuff:  £0.00
Steve's stuff:  £21.40
Joint stuff:  £20.10

so Steve's stuff is only £1.30 more expensive than the joint stuff now, so that's a lot better, but I've still got buggar all on there again, despite it being me that pays for it each week.

The electricity payment is fine, 'cos we both use it every day, but to have over half of the groceries for just one of us each week just doesn't seem fair to me, but Steve never takes off any of his stuff, he just adds to it.

This is a direct quote from Steve after he'd put the order through "when we get the money sorted out and back to how it was three years ago, I'll be able to give you an extra £20 a week so that we aren't stuck with just the basics like we are at the minute, then you'll be able to get yourself pop each week too then" but I can almost guarantee that the £20 will go on stuff that's just for Steve again.  I spend less than that a month on stuff for me and I can almost guarantee that if Steve really does put the £20 a week into it, then it'll all be used by him again and I'll be lucky to get £5 of stuff that's just for me, so nothing is really gonna change.  Pessimistic?  Nah, realistic, based on the evidence of the last couple of years.
