If you've read any of my other recent book reviews, you'll already know that this first paragraph always explains that every book I read and review starts off with the full amount of 5 stars and that I'm always hopeful that they'll all still be stuck firmly in place by the time I close the back cover. You'll also know that I'm not shy about removing stars, but I always give my reasons within the review - they don't just vanish into thin air.
Let's get this book opened and reviewed shall we?
Wow! That first chapter was incredible! It sounds like it could be quite a raunchy book, so probably best not to read it while there are small eyes around!
I'm up to chapter 5 already and I don't know where the time has flown to, but this is a truly incredible book so far!
Oooh... things are heating up and I'm secretly hoping that Harper's desires are realised before the end of the book. This is a truly deliciously sexy book already and I've only read 5 chapters so far!
Oh. My. Gosh. Chapter 6 was truly incredible. I've got happy tears pricking the corner of my eyes and I dunno if I can control them!
This book is already getting me in all the feel-good places... this author has an incredible way with words and their sense of bringing me to the brink right at the end of each chapter is just incredible. One more chapter, chapter 8, to go before I've gotta simmer before my carer arrives otherwise I'll be all over the place lol
Wow. Another incredible chapter. The author is really into their stride now and knows the perfect words in the perfect order to get my heart going. Time to stop until after lunch now though... gotta get out of the sexy headspace and back into the innocent one lol
Up to chapter 13 now and I still love every word I read of this book.
No spoilers, but chapter 13 came out of nowhere!!
No spoilers again, but I'm pretty positive that it wasn't Harper's fault... she wouldn't do that to her livelihood and home after everything she went through... right?
Understatement of the millennium coming up, but chapter 18 was a shock but I was right in my guess in the previous paragraph and I'm absolutely fuming now... I hope Harper and her kids will be OK!
Wowsers! I could feel the hatred coming through every word between Harper and her mum in chapter 19!!
Up to chapter 22 now and it feels like the weight I've been holding all day is finally crumbling away... that Harper and her children are finally safe.
After all the emotional rollercoaster of the last few chapters, the author is lulling me into a (false?) sense of security and I'm only half way through the book! What else have they got up their sleeve I wonder??
I've just read the last chapter of my day so the other half is for tomorrow and I can't wait!
Chapter 25 was a perfect start to my morning... gentle and sexy without being over the top.
Chapter 27 was so gorgeously written and intense.
I was wrong last night... the last couple of chapters have heightened my interest again - this author is so amazingly skillful in their writing!
Ooh! There's a turn-up for the books! Hudson is changing his ways - is he falling in love for the first time in his life??
Chapter 31 was an eye-opener! It sounds like they've all come to an agreement that works for all of them though.
Chapter 35 was unexpected in more ways than one!
I hope this book has got a happy ever after with all the emotions it's sending rushing through me!!
I'm just gonna read one more chapter then leave it at that until after lunch... can't let my carer be suspicious about why I'm so breathless! lol
Just finished chapter 29 and I'm feeling a touch emotional now, so I'm not gonna read any more until after my carer has left otherwise I'll be a sobbing wreck when she comes to the door lol
Oh. My. Goddess. What a perfect end to a perfect book.
Five star must-read for all those who want a bit of sexy comfort, but really not suitable for under-18's 😉
