Book Review: "One Day and Forever" by Shari Low

I'm starting this book review off in the same way as I've started them all over the last few years and that's by saying that every book I read and review starts off with the full library-load of 5 stars and that I'm always hopeful that they'll all still be firmly in place by the time I close the back cover.  I'm never shy about removing stars but I always give my reasons for taking each one off within the review - they don't just disappear.

Let's get going with the reading and reviewing shall we?

Apparently this can be read as a standalone book but backstories are in other books by this author, so she's made things harder for herself than necessary, but maybe she's hoping to sell more books this way?

Now we've got two pages of characters in this book and I've already forgotten most of them 'cos there are so many, so the first star is already significantly wobbly and I haven't even got to the first chapter yet!!

I'm up to page 3 of the actual story and there have been several famous names mentioned that I'm sure the author hasn't got permission to use because they are so internationally famous, as well as the name of a famous American airport, so the first star is coming off already unfortunately.

Page 4 has got the name of a well-known social media site, so the wobbly star has wobbled off rather than having two wobbly stars.  This isn't looking good at all!

I'm up to page 13 so there's been 10 pages of prologue so the third star is wobbly and things aren't looking good for this book.

Page 35 and it's OK at best - not boring but not good either.

Another new character and two new names to remember, so the next star is coming off on page 36 - this isn't looking good unfortunately!  Down to two stars now so only one more to lose before this book becomes another "Did Not Finish" for me... my second in two days!

Page 37 and even more new names that I've already forgotten and I can't even remember the main character's name any more because there have been so many others!  The final star is coming off and I'm officially giving up on this book - my second DNF in about 16 hours!

If you've got more patience than me and an incredible memory then you might enjoy it, but it's another book that I can't read unfortunately  :-(
