Today's (23rd January 2026) breakfast photo

Today's breakfast was the same as yesterday's - 2 slices of wholemeal 'Toastie' toast and approx. 20g of 'Buttery' spread all washed down with a freshly-decanted 250ml bottle of Tropical juice.  I've had another sneaky me-friendly creamy drinking chocolate this morning too lol

Mornin' all

Goooood morning everyone!

I've had a productive morning so far, thanks to my 5-HTP dose this morning and my blood pressure was back down into my own personal range again.  I've taken my first Visible reading of the day, popped my 11 morning pills (including the two 5-HTP), got washed and dressed, adjusted the alarm on my Charge 6 so that it wakes me up instead of going off when I'm half-way down the stairs, had my breakfast, run the daily virus scan which was still reassuringly clear, so now it's time to wash up and have my first hot choccie of the day while I get today's to-do list together then put today's first meal photo up.

I'm completely zonked, so I'll keep this short and just say that I'm off to beddy-byes now.

1 minute 39 seconds lol

A fast, easy way to start his afternoon - getting the first patient done and dusted in under 2 minutes lol

They've all been authorised for another year and he was pondering on taking me off one of them because I've been on it for over 5 years and each test has been fine since, so it could be one less to take twice a week but I'm fine with continuing to take it if necessary.

I've just checked my online account and the message has gone and the prescription for all of them has been put through so I hope it goes to the pharmacy rather than just reception and that if it *has* gone to the pharmacy, that they will deliver everything for me, like usual!

My delivery has just turned up too, 5 minutes after hanging up the phone (thank you Loki!), so I can officially relax for the rest of the day now.

I think another creamy hot chocolate is called for now as a reward, while I charge up my Visible.

Today's (22nd January 2026) lunch photo

For today's lunch I finished off the bag of the last 3 battered onion rings, approx. 5g Vegan Mayo and washed down with a 330ml can of Sparkling Mango.

There are no more onion rings left in the bag now so I've binned it and it'll be possibly two hash browns for lunch tomorrow to see how my stomach copes with that.

I've just phoned up to get a medical appointment with my GP surgery's pharmacist and he's gonna call me "as soon as he comes on duty this afternoon, after 2pm" and according to my online account it's booked in for 14.00-14.10 so I'm really hoping that it's an easy start to the afternoon for him!  Everything is going swimmingly with all four of my prescriptions so hopefully it'll just be a couple of minutes then I can order them as soon as we finish the call and hopefully get them early next week!

Mornin' all

I've woken up feeling like I haven't slept, but my morning Visible reading was 3 out of 5 and my FitBit is saying that I was asleep for 8 hours and 14 minutes so in theory I should be feeling better than I am, but I'm not.

I've taken my blood pressure and popped my 10 morning pills so I'm good to go now.

The daily virus scan was still reassuringly clear, so that's a relief.

Time to get today's to-do list together, then get washed and changed and then make and eat my breakfast methinks.

Nite nite orl

I'm absolutely knackered after getting less than 6½ hours of sleep last night, so I've taken my pills and I'm heading on up to beddy-byes now.

I'll see you all in the morning.

I'm thinking...

...that 1st February will be a good day for me to add a second thing to my lunches, so instead of having a vegan slice or vegan sausage roll or 3 onion rings for lunch, I'll try having a sausage roll/slice AND 3 onion rings or a hash brown or whatever.  My body is more used to solid lunches at last now so I wanna try and take it up to the next stage and 1st February will hopefully please my OCD instead of firing it off again.  I'm hoping that it'll stop me snacking all morning too lol

Today's (21st January 2026) breakfast and lunch photos

It's obviously Wednesday today so it was virus scan and backups day so I couldn't have anything solid for breakfast, just a 500ml glass of water to wash my morning pills down with.  The backups finished in time for me to have a solid lunch of super firm smoked tofu and the rest of the bottle of Vegan Mayo, washed down with a 330ml can of Sparkling Mango pop.

Here are today's breakfast and lunch photos:

Edited Book Review: "The Overthinking Cure" by Dr Jessamy Hibberd

Kindle     Audiobook     Paperback
⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5

If you've read any of my other more recent book reviews, you'll know that I start them off with this same first paragraph that says that each book starts off with the full 5 stars and that I'm also hopeful that they are all still in place by the time I close the back cover.  You'll also know that I'm not shy about removing stars but I always give my reason(s) for doing so within the review - they don't just disappear.

I was approved to read an DRC of this book by the publisher and Net Galley but there was no option to download it onto my Kindle for some reason, even though there's a Kindle book available.  I'm reading it through the Net Galley app and hope that I don't forget that I'm reading and reviewing it because it's not on my Kindle.  I won't be commenting on the look of the book or any page errors as I don't know what it looks like on my Kindle.

Let's get going with the reading and reviewing shall we?

I'm only on the first page after the dedication and copyright etc pages and I'm already getting a headache because the text is so small and I can't find a way to increase it so at 3% the first star is already wobbly!  Actually, scratch that, I've read a sentence so far and it's pretty much totally unreadable because of the font and size that has been chosen for this book, so after one single sentence, the first star is coming off already.

I haven't even managed to read the first paragraph and it's totally unreadable for me unfortunately, so this is not only a DNF it's a barely started too!  I'm taking off the three remaining stars because I can't safely read it at all!

I've scrolled further forward just in case but there are images and graphs and the font hasn't changed size so there's no way I can read this book unfortunately.  I really hope they fix the font before it's published otherwise there may not be many happy readers unfortunately!

***

I contacted the publisher about not being able to read the book because of the font size, which they quickly corrected, I re-downloaded the book but there were numbers at the start and/or end of each line, so I contacted the publisher again and they were able to sort that out too, so I'm starting a fresh page with this book and ramping the stars all the way back up to five.

Let's try reading and reviewing again.

This book is soooo me already!

There have been several mistakes in the format of the book so far that kinda spoils it a bit, most noticeably when there are 11 words without a single space between any of them.  I hope that they are ironed out before final publication!  The first star is wobbly, but it's clinging on by it's fingernails right now.

There are 4 pages with just boxes of various shapes and sizes that I'm guessing are supposed to be images, but they just don't make any sense to me reading the Kindle version so the first star is plopping off unfortunately.

My overthinking is usually definitely The Dweller - especially when I'm alone!!  Saying that though, I'm also The Catastrophizer lol  And The Overwhelmed, although thankfully not as much as I used to be now.

Up to chapter 8 and I'm gonna treat myself compassionately and go and make myself a me-friendly creamy hot-chocolate.

With the ten tips for sleep, I already do numbers 1, 3, 5, 6 and 7 but I'm hopeless at the last 3 lol

I'm stiff and sore, but I've really enjoyed the last almost 8 hours of constant reading, but my bladder is telling me that it's time for a break now, after my earlier hot chocolate lol

I've got a room-temperature bottle of ice tea to keep me going until lunchtime now... I'm loving this book so far, other than the words with no spaces between them which is a bit frustrating, but I'm reading an ARC so I'm really hoping that they will all be found and adjusted before it gets released then I'll look like an idiot in this review lol

I've been so caught up in this book that I've forgotten to update this review and drink my bottle of ice tea (the reason that I chose the cold version over the hot lol)!  It's taken almost exactly 9 hours but I've absolutely devoured it!  There were more strings of words together and misplaced titles/chapters/sections that I'm hoping will be sorted by the time this book is published for real, but it's been sooo worth it!

Mornin' all

It's Wednesday today and thankfully I remembered to start the virus scan off at 4.14am after I'd had my pills with my breakfast of a 500ml glass of water.

I've decided that I'm gonna go and get washed and changed after I've started the backups instead of straight away, so that I can make use of not being able to save anything to my hard drive.  When the backups have finished, I'll start reading my DRC and hope that it'll be more than 1 star now that the publisher has made it readable at last!

Time to get today's to-do list together now I reckon.

I'll see you all in the morning for the weekly virus scan and backups and trying to read the DRC again.

Today (20th January 2026) I'm grateful for...

...ordering the XL snack box first thing this morning and it's already been dispatched with an estimated delivery date of 29th.

I'm also grateful that I helped to sort out a techie issue with the DRC and it's good to go for tomorrow now.

And getting my browser caches cleared.

And getting last week's FitBit together and uploaded pretty much problem free.

And using the product test and remembering to take before and after photos.

A very good afternoon today.

A productive couple of hours

I've been contacted by the publisher about the not being able to read the DRC because of some techie issues and they've sorted it now, so I'm gonna start reading and reviewing it again tomorrow with hopefully a more than single star opinion this time.

I've also used the second product test and got a before and after photo to upload to the end of test survey.

As if that wasn't enough, I'm now officially booked in for the Air Source Heat Pump service next week, but I think I've already said about that.

Do I deserve a J2O for achieving so much this afternoon??

Today's (20th January 2026) lunch photo

I'm totally stuffed after having breakfast and lunch today compared to just chocolate yesterday lol

Today's lunch was 4 large flat mushrooms and Vegan Mayo washed down with a 330ml can of Rubicon sparkling mango.  My body is kinda going "what the... oooh!" now 'cos it's always appreciated fruits and veggies so Monday's are usually what it looks forward to.

I'm not sure if I'll have enough room for my tea today, going by how full I already am and to a lesser degree before lunch too... I'll have to wait and see how I feel in a couple of hours.

Here's today's lunch photo:

Woops!

When I went to the door to bring my groceries in, it was already unlocked and could easily have been pushed open by a human, an animal or even the wind!  I've got no idea how long it was like that, but I haven't left the house since I got home yesterday, so can only assume that it was from when I went to pick up the delivery yesterday late afternoon!  Woops in a very big way if that's the case 'cos it was unlocked all night!!

Next Thursday I will...

...hopefully have earnt a celebratory J2O.

Why?

Because my heat pump is getting it's annual service and I'm really not looking forward to it.

If I'm remembering rightly it'll only take about half an hour, but I'll be on edge the entire time they are here in case they find something seriously wrong or it bursts into flames or there's a power cut or whatever.

I know that I'm over-thinking and getting paranoid and it's all very unlikely to happen but it's just the way my mind works with things I don't understand.  It's only once a year and I'm really hoping it'll be a morning call, with any luck the first one of the day, but I'm gonna be on edge until it's over and done with for another year.

When it's done and dusted, I'll have a celebratory J2O and waaay too much chocolate all afternoon.  I'll end up regretting being so piggish with an allergen, but I don't care - I'll need the reassurance that only chocolate can provide.

It's gonna be a busy week next week 'cos of the rubbish and recycling on Monday, groceries on Tuesday, weekly virus scan and backups on Wednesday, the annual service being on my middle nephew's birthday on Thursday, then I can breath until the start of February when I start the second/third edit of my second memoire.

I'm gonna be a bag of nerves next week and in my creative space the week after!

Today's (20th January 2026) breakfast photo

Three and a bit hours later than when I actually ate it, but never mind.

Today's breakfast was my usual two slices of wholemeal 'Toastie' toast and approx 20g of 'Buttery' spread with a freshly-decanted 250ml bottle of Tropical juice.

Here's today's breakfast photo:

Book Review: "The Overthinking Cure" by Dr Jessamy Hibberd

Kindle     Audiobook     Paperback

⭐ out of 5

Mornin' all

I've woken up to a score of 3 out of 5 on my Visible and I'm sooo glad I'm not exercising this week 'cos I'm absolutely worn out after yesterday.

I've popped my 10 morning pills and put the grocery bags down by the door.  I'm not gonna get washed and changed today otherwise I'll end up on the floor.

The daily virus scan was clear again and my Visible and spam phones are getting some emergency juice and I think my FitBit's need charging too, so it's time to get today's to-do list together then go and get my breakfast now I reckon, then I can give everything some juice while I wait for my groceries.

Just got back from the funeral and...

I'm soooo proud for only going for two wee's since 11.30am and only one of them was while I was out of the house!

I haven't eaten anything at all since yesterday and I've only had a glass of water and a mug of hot chocolate all day and it's too close to bedtime to have anything now, so I refuse to feel guilty for snacking throughout tomorrow.

I've also got another product to test and review, but that'll have to wait until the morning 'cos I'm having a very early night tonight after I've put today's update to my to-do list together then searched to see if it's safe to eat Quorn and vegetables two days after they were cooked without getting food poisoning.

Tonight though, I'm just gonna take my pills and head to bed for a very early night.
