Wonders will never cease!

I've just told Steve about the substitutions (he was getting washed at the kitchen sink again 🤮) and to give credit where it's due, he said he would reject his ice creams instead of my bottles of pop, which makes today's groceries considerably more affordable, thankfully.

Assuming he really does reject his ice creams, the totals will look like this:

My stuff:  £5.97
Steve's stuff:  £17.43
Joint stuff:  £16.10

I'm a lot happier with those numbers, but it waits to be seen if the ice creams really do get rejected or not... if they do, I bet Steve'll make me feel guilty about it at every opportunity, despite it being his choice and him already having 7 ice creams in the freezer too.

He's ranting about his prescription and has just said "I've got 21p in my account, so you'll have to whistle for your birthday pressie tomorrow" which is pretty much what I was expecting, yet he still wants a Chinese meal for his birthday as well as a gift from me but wouldn't like it if I said that to him.  It's his 50th this year, so I'll order him a Chinese take-away in celebration, but he's not getting a gift just for a change.  He hasn't got me a gift or even a card for at least a decade yet seems to expect gifts every year (last year it was a painting of the pup and the year before it was lifetime membership to the steam railway), well not any more.  From this year onwards, I'll only get gifts for those who have got me a gift the previous year and for my two little nephews, but nobody else... there will be a lot of disappointed people but I'm past caring now.  People use me and if they don't like me treating them how they've been treating me, then maybe they need to look closer to home and work out why they don't like what I'm doing to them.
