...why I was having problems yesterday and it was a PICNIC error as opposed to a DNS problem but I'm waaay out of my depth now so I've emailed the appropriate team and I'm keeping everything crossed that they can fix the error without any problems.
I've gotta re-setup my email accounts and FTP logins but hopefully that's easy enough to do when I've got the issue sorted out for me. It's been a few years since I last had to do it, but I'm slightly more confident with that than the stuff I'm having problems with.
