...they are measuring up today and will be finished by Wednesday (not Friday, like I was thinking which is even better) and they've explained in great detail exactly what's gonna happen - they will completely strip the tiles, felt and batens a section at a time then replace the batens, felt and tiles before they start on the next section "and it will be completely water-tight throughout, don't worry". They are using breathable felt and new, thicker, sturdier tiles which will last considerably longer than the current ones and are less likely to get damaged and cause all these problems "for a long time to come", which is a relief.
They are bringing someone else with them tomorrow so it'll be a 3 person ('cos I don't know if the third person is a man or a woman) job which may be why it's getting done two days quicker.
The new man that came with the roofer today is just as friendly and supportive as his team-mate which is a relief, so hopefully tomorrow's third person will be the same!
I'm definitely getting a totally new roof at the front of the house by the end of this week though <gulp>
