Had a phone call first thing

...the trousers I ordered for Steve last night weren't in stock in his size so I ordered him a replacement... hopefully they will fit him!  lol

Thursday 29 September 2016

Ordered Steve the next size down in...

boxers, decentish trousers and a shirt so that he can go for interviews without holding his trousers and pants up the whole time he's there and is more respectful than t-shirt and jogging bottoms.

Just checked the email from Namehog

It's £20 more than I was expecting... £86 but can still afford that, just won't have the £15 to play with is all.

I'll still have £86 to play with next week after the shopping but instead of being £15 in credit, I'll have single figures until the week after... no big deal  :-)

Namehog are going to try taking the payment on 15th so I'll definitely be able to afford it then!

I'm getting a bit good at this bugeting lark!

I've just checked my domains and hosting that are up for renewal at the end of October.

About £65.

Checked the Sainsbury's order and it's £47 atm but the vouchers from Sainsbury's take it down to £33.

Checked my bank balance and it's £180 right now, with all my bills and stuff taken out.

The shopping is usually just over £100 on a Monday, plus the £65 for the domain stuff, means that I'll still have £15 available to spend, plus the £500 on payday will easily cover my bills in October, as well as my website stuff and I'll still be able to get the shopping every week too!

I'm addicted to spending but the groceries every week seems to be all I need to keep it under control as well as having enough to cover my bills and having enough to cover my hosting and stuff as well.

It also gives Steve one less thing to worry about finding the money for too.

It'll be far from easy, but we'll get through it again, just like we did a few years back when he lost his previous job and started at TWM... far from easy but definitely doable!

20 years ago today

I lost my first twin, Angelah, 20 years 5 hours and 11 minutes ago.

She would have been 20 at the beginning of  April 2017.

Our little pup, on her walk this morning...

met a SkyTV man who did absolutely nothing but the poor pup still hid her tail!  We'd only been on less than a third of the walk before she wanted to come home so badly that she scratched at the front door!

I don't know what she sensed, but the poor pup wasn't happy at all on her walk this morning!  :-(

Wednesday 28 September 2016

The pup isn't in my good books this morning

She greeted me and kissed me and was genuinely pleased to see me when I first came down this morning.

I put my shoes and socks on and went to get her harness and lead.

Called her for her morning walkies.

She shot out of the living room, passed me waiting for her at the bottom of the stairs and went to the back door.

Her tail was almost verticle which usually means she really needs a poo, so I hurried to the back door and opened it for her.

She backed up into the kitchen and refused to go out.

That's where the disagreements started.

I left the back door open and got her harness and lead again.

She refused to put it on.

When I eventually got her harness and lead on her, she came into the living room and started jumping up at Steve for attention.

Five minutes later she eventually went out of the front door and she started her walk.

As normal, she went to the kerb and squatted down for a tiny wee.

The rest of the walk, she was either pulling me forward or refusing to move.

When we got home, she refused to let Steve take her harness off.

When she eventually got it taken off, she was looking up to the top drawer for a biscuit and Dentastick.

Not going to happen, Pup.

Sainsbury's and Steve

We usually get our groceries delivered on a Monday early evening from Sainsbury's.

The driver that was due to deliver yesterday called in sick and the replacement never turned up so we didn't get our shopping delivered yesterday.  Steve phoned them and they sent me a £10 voucher within minutes and guaranteed that they would deliver today.

I've just had the driver on the phone just to check that it was still OK to deliver today and he was full of apologies.

ASDA were terrible about deliveries and never once apologised for turning up way too early or way too late.  Steve was on the phone to them most weeks about it and they never once apologised let alone offer a goodwill gesture and they rarely packed the stuff in bags either, even though we asked and paid for them.

I'm liking Sainsbury's more and more every week... our shopping is always in bags, they turn up in the slot, apologise when things go wrong, provide goodwill gestures, apologise unreservedly for their mistakes, phone to ensure that the delivery slot is still good the next day... they are so much better!

The reason that I put Steve's name in the title, is because he's got a telephone interview for a job tomorrow afternoon which has made him smile again, after hearing about not getting the job yesterday morning.  Also, Steve's usual carer, Jess, has given birth to a little boy and Steve got a FB message last night with a photo of him... almost as cute as H was when he was a newborn!

It's not even lunchtime yet either!  lol

Monday 26 September 2016

He didn't get the job :-(

Steve's just heard back from the agency and he didn't get the job unfortunately  :-(

Sunday 25 September 2016

Less than 24 hours this time!

I set the weekly anti-virus scan going yesterday at 9.26am.

Came down to check it at 9am this morning and it was finished!

Considering I've got a 2tb hard drive to scan, that's good going I reckon!

Saturday 24 September 2016

Having a vegetable Bhuna for me tea

I'm having my very own Bhuna for tea... wish me luck!

Friday 23 September 2016

I've decided...

Just had the dreggs of rice and sauce of Steve's Chicken Bhuna and after the initial "meh!" the kick kicked in and made my tongue tingly, but it was really nice!

I'm going to have a veggie Bhuna next time then we'll take it from there.

I've gone from Korma making my eyes water all the way to Biriyani (or however it's spelt), Rogan Josh and up to a Bhuna!

Thursday 22 September 2016

Suppose I should be grateful

Just tried to access my Mandy emails and Yahoogroups so that I can delete FWF's groups but I can't remember the passwords now!

Ho hum!  If I can't remember them then they won't be used by anyone trying to hack into them either!  lol

Wednesday 21 September 2016

Wiped out again

Meeting up with C tomorrow... I've missed him so much!

I'm heading to bed now, so nite nite!

Tuesday 20 September 2016

Had a mug of butternut squash soup for me tea

Yummerama!  Be having it again methinks!

Monday 19 September 2016

30 hours

I set my anti-virus programme scanning my whole laptop yesterday morning and it finished 30 hours later... not bad considering I've got a 2tb hard drive and about 4 million files to be scanned!

Just got out of the bath and discovered...

I've just had a bath and found a huge spot on my belly.  To quote Steve "have you grown another belly?!"  I, of course, picked at it and squeezed the pus out and one of the bits of pus shot up and landed on my glasses... good shot, but it meant I couldn't see for the rest of my bath until I got out, got dried and dressed, then I cleaned my glasses so that I could see again... not bad going!  lol

Sunday 18 September 2016

Me mum has got a very limited bus service now...

Far from ideal, considering that the government promised not to cut rural bus services if they were elected, but it's better than nothing which is what she would have had a couple of months ago if the village hadn't got together to get a community bus a couple of times a week but she's very reliant on my brother now.

I haven't seen her for 7 years and we haven't got a car now so we can't go over even now, so she's making the best of a bad job.

It's hardly fair, is it... Steve sees his sister every week, his family every 6 weeks when we go and get our hair cut and he has conversations with his brother on Skype at a moment's notice, yet I haven't seen my mum for more than half a decade!

Saturday 17 September 2016

I'm the only one awake in the house right now! lol

Steve's in his chair, snoring away.

Mitzi is on the sofa dreaming about dogs in uniform.

There's some sort of motor racing on the telly and Steve, as always, has the remote.

I'm writing chapter 12 in my WIP so I'm blocking all the noise out and trying to write... wish me luck!

Friday 16 September 2016

O2 are a bit...

O2 are one of my mobile providers.

I top up £10 by the 20th of every month, but didn't want to forget and loose my freebies every month because of my brain damage, so I've just logged in to my account and changed from the low credit option to the £10 on a certain date.

I wanted to be sure if I needed to top up this month as well because I've only just changed it, so I started a chat with one of the O2 bods and because I changed it before the date of charging I'd chosen, it starts this month so I don't need to worry any more 'cos it'll be done automatically!

I love O2!

How is that even possible??

Steve swore to me the other day, that his can of Diet Coke was empty when he gave it to me, but by the time I'd taken the carrier with our recycling there was liquid in there.

He's just finished another can and proved to me that it was totally empty by shaking it.  Not even a drop of Diet Coke was left in there.  He then handed the can over to me and I shook it and there was liquid in there again... literally a couple of seconds and nowhere near liquid so how did I make there be liquid in the can again??  I gave the can back to Steve, he shook it and there was still liquid in the can, so he totally drained it again, shook the can, no liquid, gave it to me again and I just put it in the bag without wobbling it.

How is that even possible??

Bloody cat!

I took the pup out for her walk this morning and there was a white bin bag in the road.  Didn't think anything of it.

When we turned around and walked down, there was a black cat that I originally thought was another bin bag until it moved it's head and looked at Mitzi.

Mitzi loves cats but they don't like her, so I brought her in and I'll try walking her again when Steve's carer has been and gone.

Another, different cat, tried to jump through a barely open living room window again yesterday - we both reckon they come from the same house, but 3 cats in 2 days have been looking for food and affection, so maybe they aren't getting it where they live?

Wednesday 14 September 2016

Steve's just told his family, so...

I can tell you that Steve got back from his interview and seems pleased with how it went.

The interview time was 3pm but the taxi got him there at 2.15pm and he waited outside the place until someone came out and asked if he was Steve, Steve said he was so he went in at 2.30pm and didn't get out until 4.30pm!

That's a long interview by anyone's standards!

He had a written test to do, then a programming one while the written one was being marked which was "a bit weird" but they are going to let him know if he's got the job, and I treated him to a take away of his choice when he got home in celebration.

Chinese of course and it cost just over forty quid but it was so worth it!

Good luck Steve, I hope you get the job... you definitely deserve to get it!

Tuesday 13 September 2016

That was impressive!

The pup has just burped louder than even Steve ever has - I'm easily impressed!  lol

Monday 12 September 2016

Marie came over to help with the shopping this evening and...

Steve remembered to ask her about taking the chairs back with her and she said that's fine, she just needs to be able to park in the street.  We're also going to sort out the bin bag in the kitchen too.  Steve will drag it to the front door and I just need to hold the front door and lid of the bin open for him.

The shopping came nice and early too and we've come to a compromise that we'll only have a take-away on a Monday now instead of going back to the routine of having take-aways every day like we used to.  My reason being that Steve will be wiped out after helping Marie to put the shopping away and a full day at work so he will be too exhaustapaytid to cook, so we'll have the take away on Monday and home-cooked food the rest of the week.

Sounds good to me!

That's a bit good then!

Just had my prescription delivered by the pharmacy.  I phoned up for it on Tuesday last week and they said it'd be here on Wednesday this week but it's only Monday!

They are a bit good there!

Sunday 11 September 2016

That couldn't have gone worse if I'd done it meself!

The pup was on Steve's chair and for some reason, he pressed the button to get it to go up.

It didn't go down.

I tried taking all of Steve's junk from behind the chair and it still wouldn't go down.

I used the controller.  No movement.

Steve tried calling the manufacturer and they weren't there because it's Sunday.

He tried calling the Occupational Therapist and tried the button one last time.

The chair went down that time.

Thankfully.

Steve hung up and immediatly put his crap back behind the chair again.

I give up.  I refuse to take the blame for things that aren't my fault any more if Steve doesn't even want to try!

The pup was a good girl on her walk this morning.

My skirt got attached to the lid of the recycling box this morning and the pup just stood there patiently waiting for me to untangle myself from it without pulling on her lead at all!

What a spectacular little girl!

Saturday 10 September 2016

The pup made a new doggy friend today

Just got back from Mitzi's walk and she made a new doggy friend as soon as we stepped out of the door... a little Jack Russell terrier touched noses with Mitzi and both tails were wagging into a blur and they started having a noisy conversation, so I brought the pup back for a couple of minutes then we finished her walk.

So, she's OK with toddlers and other dogs but she doesn't like saying goodbye to either of them!

Friday 9 September 2016

Steve's just had a telephone interview

Steve lost his job back in March and we've been living off his savings ever since.

He had a telephone interview at 3pm and as a result of that, has a face to face interview on Wednesday afternoon!

He felt really confident in the things they want him to do and used all sorts of abbreviations which seemed to be understood by the person he was talking to and they want to meet up with him in person now!

It's a small company with a grand total of 13 people working there which is the size of company Steve prefers to work with and he'll be taking over from someone who's leaving the company for whatever reason, so he'll be hitting the ground running which seems to be fine by him and because it's so small, he'll settle in sooner and be more willing to ask questions and offer suggestions for the best of the company instead of being in a big, faceless corporation which would make him less confident.

Keep him in your thoughts, prayers and meditations that he gets the job on Wednesday or at least a positive result to give him the confidence to keep trying!

Wednesday 7 September 2016

Last 2 watches on Freegle now

Had interest from 2 people so both watches are definitely going at some point soon!

Tuesday 6 September 2016

Marie came to help with the shopping last night and...

Marie came to help with the shopping last night and changed the kitchen light for us too.

Thank you Marie!  I really appreciate your help!

Monday 5 September 2016

Sneeze-athon!

Just had a sneezing fit... I think it's my first cold of the year, the hubby thinks it's just dust getting up my nose.

Sunday 4 September 2016

So tired!

Just taken me pills and I've given up on changing things from Florida, USA to UK systems on my next novel now so I'm going to head to bed and start again tomorrow.

Nite nite!

Saturday 3 September 2016

FB post for Mitzi

Another one for M from FB

How I feel about M via FB

I know who the 3 haters prolly are, but...

I know who the 3 haters prolly are (M, the bloke at the end of the road and BS) but I don't think I know over 1,000 people, do I??

Where is the year going?!

It's the start of September according to the calendar, so why does it feel like the start of March??

Where have the last 6 months gone?

Review of J2O Spritz apple and watermelon

Hmm.

After the gorgeous peach and apricot J2O Spritz I had yesterday, I had high hopes for this one too.

I wish I could be more positive about it, but this one is overpowering watermelon with seemingly no apple in it at all.  The taste also hangs around for a lot longer too so if you were drinking it with a meal, you would only be able to taste the watermelon instead of what you were eating.

This drink needs to go back to the J2O drawing board unfortunately.  Sorry.

Friday 2 September 2016

Review of J2O Spritz Peach and Apricot

Just tried this for the very first time and my cautious tongue loved it instantly!

It's got a very slight sparkle to it which the J2O's I've had before haven't, so that was a nice surprise.

The taste is gorgeous and has taken over from the Apple and Mango J2O as my favourite flavour.

It comes in a 750ml glass bottle with a screw top so it's easy to close if you don't want to drink it all straight away and the only thing they could do to improve it would be to make the bottle size a little bit smaller like the other J2O's I've had in the past so that I don't drink all 750ml in one sitting like I've just done with this bottle!  lol

Has anyone got...

I do occasional reviews of creative stuff on my other blog but I'm going to review things on this blog that aren't creative and want to know what sort of things you want me to review!

I'm not going to review things of people I know because I can't be unbiased about that and would prolly give a 5 star review because I didn't want to offend them rather than a non-biased 3 star review if you see what I mean?

So, if you've got ideas for things that I can review, just leave me a quick comment about what it is and where I can buy it from.  Please don't start by saying "this is great, you really should review it" or "this is terrible for me, total waste of money" because you're already telling me how to review it before I've even seen it!

So, just leave me a quick comment in reply to this post and I'll get back to you!

Doing well with the fluid this week!

Last week we bought 2 boxes of 18 cans of Diet Coke and 2 lots of 2 litre bottles of cream soda.

Got it all finished by Saturday and Steve only had a couple of cans a day.

This week we got the same and just one box lasted us until last night without restrictions for either of us!

The boxes weren't bigger or anything this week, and there were no restrictions like last week, so why have the drinks lasted so much longer?

Thursday 1 September 2016

Shutting down soon

Slowly shutting down programmes so that I can move me laptop off the table ready to have me tea and an early night!
