I've had a busy day and week which has made my body scream for a rest, so I'm gonna head to bed for a well-deserved early night now.
I'll see you all in the morning.
Nite nite orl.
I've had a busy day and week which has made my body scream for a rest, so I'm gonna head to bed for a well-deserved early night now.
I'll see you all in the morning.
Nite nite orl.
...that whatever the issue was with one of my browsers, one of my email programmes and my anti-virus programme, they have now all been fixed with a couple of little anxiety-causing fixes in the control panel which is a huuuge relief.
You watch them go splat again now that I've said that though lol
How are you all doing this chilly morning?
I've already been for a poo 💩 and taken my morning pills and given myself a squirt, so I'm just waiting for my last carer of the week now.
My anti-virus programme is playing up again, which is frustrating, but I'm used to that particular frustration now.
Best get today's to-do list put up before my morning carer comes now I guess.
I've done a bit of reading around how long it'll take my smart electricity readings and charges to kick in and it turns out that it could be up to 3 months!! That means that I'll be well over £1200 in credit before the middle of the year and by the time the smart readings start kicking in so I could have saved myself sooo much money instead of paying off the 6-monthly bill in total and still coughing up monthly too! Too late to worry about that now though lol
I've taken my last pills of the day so I'm gonna sign off for the night now.
Nite nite orl.
I had another tin (ie 2 servings) of spaghetti loops for my lunch today and my carer was wonderful while we were waiting for it to heat up and she mopped the kitchen floor and wiped down the side and wouldn't let me stir the pan at all, so she did everything today, which was a big relief and means that I can be safer getting into the bath today.
Here's today's lunch photo:
I finished off the last two slices of bread this morning and, like yesterday, it was just 2 slices of bread and spread again 'cos the bread would have got stuck in the toaster if I'd used that. I had a bottle of orange juice to wash the bread down with and I've got a mug of decaff coffee on the go to warm me up a bit.
Here's today's breakfast photo:
In my first blog post of the day, I said I couldn't remember how to talk. At the time, that was true, but when my carer arrived, that memory returned as soon as I opened the door, thankfully, so I was wrong this morning and I'm sorry for my mistake.
How are you all doing this morning?
I'm doing OK but I can't remember how to talk!
I've taken my morning pills and stared the daily virus scan, so I'm just waiting for my morning carers to turn up now, then I can have my breakfast.
My hayfever is already causing my nose and eyes to run and my eyes to itch like mad so it's gonna be another bad hayfever day today.
I'm gonna publish this then get today's to-do list sorted out.
I've taken my last pills of the day and my mood is through the floor, so I'm going to bed.
Goodnight all.
Another tin of baked beans for lunch today, that weren't peppered but I didn't produce too many "bottom burps" and no nasty smells at all yesterday, so I'm hoping it'll be the same this afternoon too.
Here's today's lunch photo:
...monthly scan finished for this month and my machine is still, reassuringly, clear. Now I've just gotta wait for the safety things to be installed and I'll be able to breathe.
In a slight change from the norm I had bread instead of toast for my breakfast this morning.
Why?
Because there were engineering difficulties on one of the slices and it would have meant that I wouldn't have been able to take the toast out if I'd put the bread in, so rather than risk it, I decided to go with bread and spread instead. It'll be the same again tomorrow for the same reason.
Here's today's breakfast photo:
...my lunchtime carer is due at 12.30 and the bars etc are being fitted at 12.30 too, so I was right in my prediction this morning.
When my lunchtime carer turns up, I'll explain to him/her that I've got some safety stuff happening at the same time and that I've already let their boss know as well as the last 4 carers since I found out. Depending on what time the safety installers go, depends on whether I have soup for lunch (if they leave soon enough) or fill up on drinking chocolate this afternoon.
Well, so far this morning I've remembered not to open my email programmes 'cos of the monthly virus scan, I've been patient so far, waiting for my antivirus programme to get to the right page but it's still thinking about it, so I've made myself a hot drink while I'm waiting. Next task is to sort out my day's to-do list then I'll wait for my morning carers hopefully while my virus scan is chugging away.
I'm getting bars fitted in the bathroom, the sofa raised and the stair rail fixed with any luck at lunchtime today... what do you reckon are the chances that my carer and the fitter will turn up at the same time? lol
Ah-ha. My antivirus programme has just chugged into life, so I've set the monthly scan going so I'm gonna swallow all my morning pills now, then sort out the to-do list I reckon.
BBS
The microwave person didn't turn up for the third day on the trot, so he's out of my good books now and I just hope that he turns up when I'm actually here and not caught up with something else. I bet he'll turn up tomorrow while the rails are being fitted now lol
I've taken my pills and advertised my technology mistake on Freegle, so I'm gonna head off to beddy-byes now.
Nite nite orl.
I'm glad I live alone and I'm not seeing anyone this afternoon 'cos my lunch today was a bowl of un-peppered baked beans and a glass of water lol My bottom is gonna be producing loud and smelly guffs all afternoon now, but my carer was able to leave in 20 minutes again and I've eaten twice today, so everyone's happy lol
Here's today's lunch photo:
What a morning I've had so far!
Today's breakfast of 2 slices of wholemeal toast with dairy-free spread and an orange juice was the start I needed today but I reckon I'll have burnt all the calories off before the end of today lol
Here's today's breakfast photo:
Not only has the TiVo box gone but the router has been replaced, the old router taken everything set up and my 3-in-1 printer brought down too, so instead of just taking the box, the engineer has managed to 2 other major jobs for me too!
Not only that, but he immediately saw that I was having internet issues so fixed that, explained why I couldn't connect to the internet even with a wired connection (I'd bought the wrong cable - d'oh! lol), fixed that as well and connected my computer back up to the internet... what a truly incredible engineer!
How are you all diddling this morning?
Me? I'm doing OK but it's gonna be a very hayfevery day today 'cos I'm coughing, sneezing and sniffing already and it's only just gone 6am!
I've already set my daily virus scan off and... it was still, thankfully, clear. I've also swallowed my morning pills and set my phone and FitBit charging.
I've got another busy day today 'cos of my morning carer coming, then my breakfast, then the engineer, then lunch, then hopefully getting rid of the microwave then I'll be able to breathe before I go to bed.
I'm not gonna have any caffeine this week 'cos the only day I've got free is Saturday and I don't wanna have to be rushing backwards and forwards to the toilet while I'm at my in-laws again on Sunday, like I was last week. I honestly haven't missed not having it this week, so I'm definitely not gonna get another jar of caffeinated coffee when I've eventually finished the current one.
Time to put together today's to-do list then crack on with my day I reckon.
I've just taken my last two pills of the day and I'm gonna head straight off to bed 'cos my body is already seriously struggling and I'm only half way through the week so far! I've got something going on every day other than Saturday, so I'm gonna have a well-deserved hot bath that day to help my mind and body recover and prepare for Sunday and Tuesday. I need a break from being constantly on the go before my body gives up on me again. I'm really hoping that's it for a while now and that everything has been or will be sorted out by this time next week, cos I really can't face another week like this one.
Can someone remind me to charge up my FitBit tomorrow pretty please?
I shall see you all again in the morning.
Nite nite orl.
...looks set to continue after all!
I'm still waiting for the microwave to be picked up today, then tomorrow the last of the previous technology is being picked up at some point, then I'm getting the rails etc sorted on Friday morning then I can breathe until Tuesday when I'm getting my groceries delivered in the morning and my Social Worker is coming over in the afternoon.
The only free days I'll have this week are Monday and Saturday 'cos at least one thing has happened or will happen every other day this week - I think I'll have earnt a J2O reward on Sunday evening lol
I'm gonna crack open the dairy-free choccies as well as potentially the treat-sized bars as a reward for coping with the week so far lol
Today's only solid's have been very low calorie 'cos I just had a couple of bananas for breakfast and a small tin (ie a single serving) of spaghetti loops for lunch today so I'm gonna have to load up on drinking chocolates this afternoon... what a shame 😉
Here's today's only photo:
Got a very busy day today 'cos I've got a double medical appointment, someone coming over to pick up the microwave, then a couple of phonecalls this afternoon that I bet will come at the same time lol
My anti-virus programme is playing silly beggers again this morning so I might have to wait until I get back from my medical appointment to start it off then wait for the backups to finish too, which'll mean a late night for me after an exhausting day, but needs must I guess.
Time to get my day's to-do list up now I reckon.
I've got a busy day ahead of me tomorrow 'cos I've got an early start with my morning carer, then someone coming over to pick up the microwave, then a double medical appointment, then lunch, then a phone call about picking up the TiVo box, then potentially the microwave person coming after that if they can't make it so early in the morning after all, all while potentially having a phone call about getting heating and stuff sorted and getting the weekly virus scan and backups sorted too. It's gonna be another busy day tomorrow, so I'm gonna try and get an early night.
Nite nite orl.
A bit behind again, but my excuse this time is that I had my GP surgery on the phone so was talking to them then arranging for an appointment for tomorrow morning. Keep your fingers crossed that it's nothing to worry about!
Today's lunch was just another tin of spaghetti loops and I've got one more small tin left from last week then it'll be full sized cans of baked beans and spaghetti after that.
Here's today's lunch photo:
I'm all behind myself already today lol
Today's breakfast was what will become my normal breakfast (as I only have a tin of baked beans or a tin of spaghetti for my lunch now) - 2 slices of wholemeal toast with dairy-free spread and a bottle of orange juice.
How's things in your world so far this morning?
I've had a pretty late start to my day, but I've taken my morning pills and given myself a few squirts of B12. I forgot to take one of my FA's last week so the packet is really getting on the nerves of my OCD now lol
My groceries are due to be delivered this morning and I've gotta remember to get onto my ISP again to arrange for the last media box to go, then I can get the side wiped off and the shelves cleared ready for bringing the printer and router down here.
<touch wood> the techie issues have been resolved and I just need to be more patient for the programme to load up now, but we'll have to see I guess.
I'm gonna go and make myself a hot drink and wait for my morning carer to turn up now I reckon.
BFN
I've had enough for one day so I've taken my pills and I'm gonna head up to beddy-byes now.
Nite nite orl.
My lunchtime carer was absolutely fantastic today! Not only did she help me to change the vast majority of the bed but she brought the old bedding downstairs, made my lunch and did the washing up while I was eating too! If she can manage all that in 23 minutes as well as putting on and taking off her PPE, why can't any of the other carers manage just heating up a tin of baked beans or tinned spaghetti in 25 minutes?
Here's today's lunchtime photo:
...relax.
The rubbish has just been taken so I've brought the sack back in and hung it up in its home ready for it to do out again on Sunday.
One of the recyclers this morning said they were never thanked so I'll make even more of an effort to thank them all on a Monday now! It can't be a pleasant job to do but they go out and do it each week and it doesn't cost a thing to be nice to them and just say thank you for getting rid of the stuff that people no longer want so I'm gonna make even more of an effort to thank them each week now, even if there's no recycling or rubbish to be picked up!
Even if you're struggling because of the cost of living, it doesn't cost a penny to say "hello" or "good morning" and "thank you" but you might be the difference between that person hating their job and thinking that maybe it's not too bad - they are as human as you and me!
I weighed myself this morning and I'm underweight again now (I've lost 1.3kg, that I couldn't afford to lose to begin with, in 7 days) so it'll be toast for breakfast every day this week and as many hot chocolates as possible as I'll only be having baked beans or spaghetti for my lunches again between now and Sunday and potentially permanently as my carers only have 10 minutes to cook in. Far from the healthy meals I was hoping for, but not to worry eh?
This morning's breakfast was 2 slices of toast with dairy free spread and an orange juice.
Here's the photo:
How's things in your world this morning?
I'm already coughing and sneezing, my nose is runny and my eyes are watering, so it's gonna be another day with loads of pollen I reckon.
According to my FitBit, I was asleep for 8 hours and 17 minutes, so that's OK. I need to remember to weigh myself and download and sort out the spreadsheet this morning, so I think I'll do that now before I forget.
It's rubbish and recycling day today, but I've only put one small bag of rubbish out, so I only need to say thank you once today, when I bring the rubbish sack in.
Gonna put up my day's to-do list then get myself weighed and logged now.
BBS
I've had a busy day today and this week is seriously catching up with me so I've taken my pills and I'm orf to beddy-byes now.
I'll see you all again in the morning.
Nite nite orl.
Just another 2 slices of wholemeal bread with dairy-free spread and an orange juice for my breakfast again this morning.
Here's today's breakfast photo:
How's things in your world atm?
I'm doing OK I think, just very cold again, but I've taken my morning pills, so I'm just waiting for my morning carer to turn up now and depending on what time that happens, depends on if I can have breakfast or just lunch today.
Time to put today's to-do list up now I think.
I've just taken my pills and had some worrying family news, so if I suddenly go quiet after Wednesday, you'll know it's bad news and that I won't be able to support you all for a while again. I've had an awful few months and I'm sorry I've needed to ask for some space instead of being constantly available for you like normal, but they've all been circumstances waaay beyond my control and I just need you to give me a bit of a break for a while longer.
I'll see you all in the morning.
Nite nite orl.
...a bad hayfever day for me today 'cos I'm already sneezing and sniffing, my eyes are watering and itchy, my nose is running a marathon and I'm coughing too.
Not to worry though, eh?
How's things in your world this morning?
I've already taken my pills and turned all the lights off, so I'm definitely noticing the clocks having changed a little while ago.
The techy issues are back, so my solution obviously didn't work, so I'm gonna have to make the most of it every time the programme opens now by the looks of things.
I've woken up too late to risk having breakfast before my morning carer comes this morning, so I'll have it when she's been and gone. Not even gonna have a hot drink for the same reason.
I've just popped my last two pills of the day and I'm still wide awake, prolly 'cos the room is still so light it's pretty much daylight, so I'll struggle to get to sleep tonight, but they are both down the hatch and I'm signing off for the night now.
I'll see you all again tomorrow.
Nite nite orl.
Today's carer was worse than useless, even bordering on dangerous, because she was more interested in using her phone than keeping an eye on the beans.
It wasn't until I came out of the bathroom that I realised she hadn't stirred them at all, so I went over to give them a stir before the pan burst into flames (nope, no exageration there) and she was like "huh? No, I do!" then she grabbed the stirrer off me, attempted to extract the burnt on beans from the bottom of the pan and asked if they were ready.
It took her a good five minutes while I was eating my lunch to even start to make a dent in the burnt-on beans and there are still some bits left welded to the pan even now.
I've had a banana for my pud though, so that's OK.
Here's today's lunch photo:
...my pulse is a bit raised like it was last time, so they wanna keep an eye on that, they've taken bloods but everything else is spot on, thankfully.
I completely forgot to ask about my armpit lumps and to give her the letter with the information about what I want done with my body when I've kicked the bucket, so I'm gonna write another letter to them now and Marie said she'll post it when she comes to pick me up again on Sunday. None of it is urgent, it would just have been good to get it done while I was already there is all.
I'm gonna reward myself with a J2O methinks... I've earnt it!
Everything is all up in the air today 'cos of my medical appointment this morning so I haven't taken my normal morning pills in case there's a blood test that they may affect so I'm feeling rather the worse for wear right now.
My breakfast was just 2 slices of toast with the new tub of dairy free spread and an orange juice again this morning.
Here's today's breakfast photo:
I've only taken my prescription this morning and I'm already significantly feeling how much the other morning pills help me so they will be going down my throat as soon as I walk in the door after I get home from this morning's medical appointment.
My morning carer gave me a hug which is the first body contact I've had with anyone for months on end. I've also put the laundry on so that will hopefully be finished soon after I finish eating my breakfast, then I'll put the wools on when I get home so that I've got clothes to wear and I won't be so cold either.
I was able to run the virus scan this morning so I've just gotta remember to set it as another scheduled scan to see if it works when I do that (that was the potential solution I came up with yesterday).
Time to sort out today's to-do list then I'll go and make my breakfast I reckon.
I've had a barely tepid bath (can someone remind me to turn the shower switch on when I turn the emersion heater on next time please), written to my doctors surgery about donating my body to medical science that I'm gonna give them tomorrow (assuming I remember of course lol) and I've taken my last two pills of the day, so I'm gonna head off to beddy-byes now. Gotta remember NOT to take my supplements in the morning, just in case they do a blood test or whatever.
I'm heading off to beddy-byes now though.
Nite nite orl.
...it's started lol
I'm parping for England already but thankfully they haven't been smelly so far.
It's beans on the menu for tomorrow lunchtime too so my poor neighbours had better prepare themselves for a loud, potentially stinky 36 hours as of now lol
My second simple meal of the week and potentially my future was a tin of baked beans and a decent amount of black pepper so that I don't make nasty smells when I'm at my medical appointment tomorrow lol
Here's today's lunch photo:
Another 2 slices of wholemeal toast with the last of the tub of dairy-free spread and an orange juice this morning.
I've got a 1kg tub of dairy-free spread to start on tomorrow so I've got plenty to get me breakfasted for a while.
Here's today's breakfast photo:
I was right last night and my OCD is happy 'cos I spent exactly £1.50 yesterday, which brings my weekly total so far up to only £6.67 which is less than 2 days budget so I'm well chuffed with that!
My flippin' antivirus programme is being stroppy again this morning which I'm not at all happy about.
I've taken my morning pills and been for a poo already this morning and I've got a delivery due at some point today, so as soon as I know the time slot that it's due, I'll work out when I can have my bath ready for tomorrow.
I'm gonna publish this blog post now and sort out today's to-do list while I wait for my morning carer to arrive.
I've just taken my last two pills of the day and checked my smart metre IHD and I'm feeling particularly proud of myself.
Why?
Because in the 9 days since it sent off the first reading, I haven't even used ¾ of my daily budget in a single day! My daily budget is £4 and the most I've spent in a single day was £2.97 when I did 3 cycles of laundry (including a 4 hour wool wash) as well as using the oven and I think the hob too, so I'm feeling pretty proud of myself. I can do this budgeting thing after all and I really don't know what I'd do without my IHD now, other than spending waaaay too much on electricity unnecessarily!
I've been doing a bit more reading up on why I was charged the non-smart amount and apparently it can take up to 6 weeks for it all to change over, so I'll have one more £311 bill then it should drop pretty significantly after that, especially if I keep going so far under my daily budget! I don't reckon I'll even hit £1.75 by midnight today either, 'cos I've only used £1.35 of electricity today and I'm about to shut my laptop down, so doubt I'll spend 40p by midnight if I've only spent 90p more since it ticked over to today. Basically, I'll be able to spend a good, long time in the bath tomorrow without worrying about how much it's costing me.
I'm going to bed with a huge relieved smile on my face now.
Nite nite orl.
Other than salad you can't get much simpler than today's lunch - a small can of spaghetti hoops/loops in tomato sauce.
It's a similarly simple meal tomorrow too - a can of baked beans in tomato sauce. I just hope I remember to put plenty of black pepper on them before I dig in otherwise it's gonna be whiffy in my doctors surgery on Friday lol
Here's today's lunch photo:
I think I said in my last blog post that I'd made my caffetierre coffee too weak and I blamed it on the amount of coffee I used, yeah? Well I was kinda wrong and I'm sorry for my mistake.
I used the right amount of coffee (2 level scoops) but didn't let it brew for long enough before I started drinking it.
I've finished off the caffetierre now so I've just gotta drain my mug and wash it out now.
I think I either needed to add more coffee or let it brew for longer 'cos I've just made myself my first caffetierre coffee since November and it's waaaay too weak! I've got way too much ground coffee to get through though, so I guess I just need to keep experimenting. I certainly ain't gonna get any more ground coffee and I'll put the caffetierre on Freegle as well... it was very much for Steve and I just went along with it whenever he wanted one so I certainly won't miss it and it means that there's more room for stuff that I do want then.
I'd forgotten just how hard it was to eat toast! Even heavily spreaded toast was sharper than I thought!
I had 2 slices of wholemeal toast with dairy-free spread and, of course, an orange juice this morning and while the spread was indeed very high calorie (like I remembered) it hasn't taken me into the red, calorie-wise, like I had hoped! I've got less than 200 calories to consume to take me into the red though, so hopefully the small tin of spaghetti hoops will be enough to take me into the red at lunchtime.
Here's today's breakfast photo:
I'm having a good morning so far 'cos the techy issues I was having yesterday and the day before have now, touch wood, been resolved. Thank you Gaia, the Green Man, Steve and whichever techy deities are looking out for me today!
I've taken my morning pills and I'm gonna dig in to my toast when my carers have gone.
The virus scan is noticeably faster today too 'cos it's already done 35% in the 35 minutes since I set it going!
I can 'do' today... it's obviously not gonna too bad a day mentally if I've got spirits and Higher Powers looking out for me already!
Gonna sort out the to-do list then go for a poo 💩 before my morning carer comes I reckon.
TTFN
I've taken my last two pills of the day and I'm rewarding myself with an early night. I'm not tired, but after getting barely 4 hours sleep a night from 10th December 2022 to early February 2023 I'm taking the opportunity to have all the early nights I can get.
Nite nite orl.
