Nite nite orl

The side effects aren't kicking in yet, but I need an early night in preparation for being woken up in the early hours, desperate for a wee.  Depending on what time that happens, I might just stay down here rather than going back to bed for a couple of hours and waking up with a thick head for hours on end afterwards.

In the meantime though, I'm gonna start closing all my programs and waiting for my carer to finish needing me for the day.

Nite nite orl.

Pills taken...

...after realising that I had a full mug of a hot drink waiting for me, so that'll see me stumbling downstairs for a wee at 3am then <sad sigh>

At this time tomorrow, I'll have...

...cared for my carer for the entire week's required time to be recognised as a carer and will be clocking up overtime.  Yesterday was a 14½ hour day so I'm right on track for another 85 hour week.  My carer has clocked up an hour combined so he's still got 34 hours to do in 5 days which is almost 7 hours every day, which he has never done and I very much doubt I'll even get 3 hours of care out of him this week.  Might just about scrape through 2 as long as he cooks every day from Friday to Sunday, but I won't be holding my breath.

That's the menu sorted for 3 weeks' time

I've just sorted out the menu for 3 weeks' time and I've put easy meals for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and more filling meals the other 4 days.  I'd like to at least start attempting a few of the easier menu's again that only have one thing on the go at the same time, so I can re-gain my confidence in cooking so that it's not all left up to Steve again.  I can do the Wednesday and Thursday meals for Steve 'cos that's just a MugShot on the Wednesday and instant soup on the Thursday which just means boiling the kettle, but I want to eat properly the other four days and if the last couple of weeks is anything to go by, most of the meal cooking will be left up to me again.

That's my two...

...caches cleared in preparation for tomorrow's virus scan, just gotta remember to not open my email programmes until it's finished again.

Gotta remember to book the grocery slot for 3 weeks' time in the morning too.  You watch me forget until after lunch though lol

After 3 hot choccies and 10...

...choccie biccies, I'm finally where I want to be with my calories - ie over 2,000 - so I hopefully won't lose any weight this week, as long as I keep having at least 3 hot choccies a day.  Tomorrow is prolly gonna be pretty similar to today - ie granola (without fruit tomorrow) for breakfast then three hot choccies throughout the day while I can't put my laptop on the floor 'cos of doing the backups and making Steve's lunch for him.

I'm gonna wipe over the top of the cooker after Steve not clearing up the spills and drips he made with the curry yesterday, so I'll make use of it not being on to give it a bit of a clean ready for Steve's sausage sarnies on Thursday, then I'll wipe it down again in preparation for more spillages with the spag bol on Friday.

Just been...

...watering the seedlings for the second time today and there are a couple of very tiny leaves coming through on the butterfly pot but both of the bees pots are well and truly flourishing - especially the 38 Degrees plants - so I must be doing something right lol

I've also made a hot drink for me an' 'im so I've got a hot chocolate so that I can get an extra 405 calories into me... just need another couple of those and I might just about turn the calorie graph green instead of blue today lol

Currently uploading...

...a video of my carer apparently caring for me.  It's how he spends the vast majority of every day when he's not eating or poo-ing and I've got several months worth of proof now.

Lunchtime pill taken

Just crunched up and swallowed my lunchtime pill, so I'm all dosed up until tonight now.

Looks like...

...I'm missing lunch today and tomorrow 'cos Steve doesn't fancy doing the pasta and sauce at lunchtime "but we'll swap it with tomorrow and I'll definitely do it then" so he's just going to have his cocktail sausages and scones for lunch today.  My weekly virus scan and backups are happening tomorrow, so he'll be having the pasta and sauce and I'll be having nothing until Thursday at the very earliest, but he's got his sausage sandwiches to finish off then so that's the third lunch I'll miss, which takes us to Friday when it's supposed to be vegan spag bol.

I've just rearranged the menu and I'll be going hungry (other than breakfast) from today until Thursday inclusive, then it's vegan spaghetti bolognaise on Friday, today's pasta and sauce on Saturday and Pasta Bake on Sunday.  Looks like I'll be having 4 lunches this week instead of the 7 that Steve tells everyone he makes for me and he'll be eating three meals a day, every day again.  I'm predicting that he'll find an excuse not to cook at least one of those meals as well, so I'm going to be missing the majority of my lunches and living on granola for breakfast and that's it on the days Steve finds an excuse not to cook.  It means that I'll prolly have lost weight again on Monday too... so much for aiming to eat 2,000 calories a day eh?

Today's (31st May 2022) breakfast photo

Just my usual breakfast this morning:  fruit and nut granola with soya milk and 125g of blueberries.  It'll just be granola and soya from tomorrow onwards though 'cos there ain't no more fruit in the fridge.  We've got some sultanas that I can have, but getting them out of the chocolate tub that they are in will make my hands sticky so I'd have to wash them before I could sit down on the sofa and eat.

Here's today's photo:

Today's grocery order

Had the substitution email while I was taking the photo of my breakfast and the final totals break down like this:

My stuff:  £2.00
Steve's stuff:  £24.09
Joint stuff:  £18.58

So Steve's stuff is well over half of the total.  Again.  And I bet some of it will go to waste.  Again.  He seems to think that because it's not coming out of his account then that's alright!

I bet he'll be the only one having lunch too, cos the stir-in sauce that was a substitute that Steve didn't reject last week is a small tub that will only be enough sauce for one meal, so it's a good job that I had breakfast really.

I'm gonna resize my breakfast photo and put it up for you all now.

BBS.

I've got a medical appointment next Thursday...

...which means having a bath on the Wednesday.  I put the emersion heater on last week and I've just discovered that Steve's been using the hot water to get washed in the kitchen sink with and now he's doing the washing up with it too, so I'll be having yet another freezing cold bath next week.  I'm gonna try boiling the kettle and using that so that I don't get pneumonia but I'm gonna get Steve to feel just how cold the water is before I pour it in, so that he can hopefully see why I get so frustrated with him using the hot water every day when he knows full well that I need it for my bath when I have medical appointments.  I don't know why I bother, I really don't.

Mornin' all

How are you all doing this morning?

I was wrong last night when I said that I'd be able to go to bed for an early night without any more support for my carer 'cos he decided that I should keep supporting him until 9pm.  That meant that I provided a huge 14½ hours of care yesterday though.  My carer has cared for me for 1% of the minimum so I'm predicting it'll be another low caring week and I'll get a maximum of 2 hours of care out of him this week.

The daily virus scan is done and dusted and I'm reassuringly still free of nasties.

Time to take my morning pills now I reckon.

OK, pills are down the hatch now, so I've just gotta make breakfast for my carer and water the plants, then make my own breakfast, then take the empty bowls through to the kitchen all before I get the email about our grocery replacements this morning.

Monday 30 May 2022

Nite nite orl

The side effects are only just starting to kick in, so in theory I've got another 15 minutes or so, but I wanna be able to get into bed before my eyes get droopy for a change, so I'm saying nite nite two ewe orl now and I'll see you in the morning.

Pills taken for the last time today

Just taken my last pills of the day and Steve's got his tea so I can hopefully safely head straight to bed tonight as soon as the side effects kick in.

Tomorrow's groceries...

...break down like this:

My stuff:  £2.00
Steve's stuff:  £25.22
Joint stuff:  £18.15

So yet again, Steve's stuff is well over half of the entire total and I bet at least some of it goes to waste again too, just like the Scotch eggs and sausage rolls from last week.  He's only had 3 of the 6 jars of sandwich paste he was so desperate for last week too and I can't have them because they are fish ones (2 x crab and 1 x sardine and tomato) so I just hope they are still in date!

Just called my GP surgery and...

...I need to book an appointment with a doctor to discuss it, so I'll try again on Wednesday 'cos our shopping is coming in the morning.  Can someone remind me to call them at 8.30am on the dot pretty please?  It'll only be a very short call (as in literally under a minute) but I'd prefer to get their blessing before I use it, like I did with my TENS machine.

That the plants sorted for today...

...afternoon pill taken and drinks made - I bet Steve'll fall asleep before he's even got a quarter of the way down his drink, then he'll shudder as he gulps it down cold when he wakes up from his afternoon snooze.

Yep, within seconds of putting his drink down on one of his tables, he was asleep.

I've got less than 40 minutes of care to provide for the rest of the day to be at double the time required and my carer hasn't only managed half an hour of care all day and he'll be asleep for most of the afternoon so I'm predicting that he won't do any more caring today.

I've gotta remember to phone up about the toning belt I got yesterday.  I'm 98% sure it'll be fine and dandy to use but I'd prefer to be paranoid than dead or whatever.

Our freezer seems to be down to temperature now, so I've filled the basket with my soya ice creams and 4 of the 5 packets of vegetarian chicken pieces, so assuming it all stays frozen we can start to buy more freezer stuff again now.

Today's (30th May 2022) lunch photo

Lunch today was an absolutely gorgeous vegan chicken Korma using a new-to-us Korma sauce and we've both agreed that we'll definitely be getting it again!

We are both totally stuffed now but it's worth it to have such an incredible taste!

Here's today's lunch photo:

Today's lunch is definitely...

...vegan chicken Korma 'cos I've got everything ready and Steve's cooking it now.

We're trying a vegan Korma sauce that's made with coconut milk/cream instead of animal milk/cream and Steve's just said to pop the lid and have a sniff - it smells gorgeous and will definitely be getting a 5 star rating from me if it tastes as good as it smells!  It smelt spicier than I was expecting but there's only one chilli (which means it's mild) on the jar so we shall see in about 20-ish minutes.  I'm already drooling and can't wait to try it!

Just weighed myself and...

...I've lost 1.3kg in the last 7 days, so this week I'm gonna aim for 2,000 calories a day to see if that's what my body needs.  I'm still well within the healthy weight range for my height, which is reassuring, but I can't lose more than 1.7kg more otherwise I'll be underweight.

I ate around 1,500 calories a day last week and still lost weight, so I'm gonna try bumping my calories up even more this week otherwise I'll have to go back to having toast instead of granola for breakfast again so that I can get over 1000 calories inside me to start the day off with.

Need to find the calorie count that my body needs, rather than what my FitBit app says.

Today's (30th May 2022) breakfast photo

I really enjoyed my breakfast this morning!  T'was just fruit & nut granola, soya milk and 125g of blueberries but it was really yummy and only 333 calories too, so I'll be able to pig-out on our lunch today.

Here's the photo:

Mornin' all

According to my FitBit I managed over 9 hours of sleep last night which is awesome.

I'm determined to have breakfast this morning but I've gotta do the washing up first, so I'll go and do that when my carer wakes up then I'll make his breakfast for him, go and water the seedlings then hopefully be stable enough on my feet to make my own.

The rubbish and recycling are due to be collected this morning, so I've gotta be ready to bring the bags and box in too, 'cos my carer never does it.

I've taken my morning pills, so I'd best run the daily virus scan now before I forget.

It's just finished and didn't find any nasties, so that's reassuring.

➰➰➰

Woops!  Forgot to publish this before I went to water the seedlings/plants and made our breakfast!

I've got a photo of my breakfast for you all, so I'll publish this then put it up.

The combination of watering the seedlings, making two breakfasts and taking Steve's empty box outside means that I've managed 9 active minutes today which is awesome and I'm pretty proud of that.

Gotta remember to phone my GP later on about the belly buster too.

After I've brought everything back in, I'll weigh myself, log it, download the spreadsheet then code and upload it.  Time to deal with the breakfast photo first though!

Sunday 29 May 2022

Nite nite orl

Heading off to bed now.  I'll see you all in the morning.

Nite nite orl.

Just had the reminder come up for...

...my last two pills of the week, so I'm gonna take them now then start shutting down 'cos I'm wiped out.

Potential waste of money

I've just read the safety/usage instructions for the toning belt that I bought yesterday and was delivered at lunchtime and it's a good job that I did 'cos I potentially can't safely use it.  It says to check with my GP before using it 'cos I've got one of the implants that it says about, so I'm gonna try and remember to call them tomorrow, but I've potentially wasted £40 on something that I can't use and there weren't any kind of warnings on the site before I bought it.

Not at all happy.

Pills taken and...

...box refilled ready for next week.

Was gonna go and water the seedlings/plants but there has been enough rain that I don't reckon I should, otherwise I'll drown 'em.

To-do list for this afternoon is to sort out my new Kindle cover so that my original Kindle can have its case back and the new one can have the new cover, then I'll have a read of the instructions on how to use the flab-buster and try it for the first time when my lunch has 'gone down' so that it doesn't come back up again.

Steve had tuna sarnies for lunch, which was on the menu for today and he's gonna finish off his sausages on Thursday instead of the soup 'cos he's not going to his medical appointment -apparently it clashes with his family going shopping, so he's having the week off and finishing off his sausages which means I'll be going hungry on Thursday and possibly Wednesday too, depending on what time the weekly virus scan and then the back-ups finish.

My carer has made just one single meal for me this week instead of the 14 he tells everyone he does but he's feeling motivated to try making the vegetarian Korma for lunch tomorrow... I won't be raising my hopes too high though.

Today's (29th May 2022) lunch photo

Just a light lunch today:  a tomato & herb MugShot.  A quick and easy end to the week.  I've made the photo safe for young eyes and resized the original by 13% so that it doesn't take forever to show up.

Here's the photo of my lunch today:

Rubbish and recycling have been...

...sorted for another week and my carer actually helped this morning!  Can't remember what else was on my to-do list for this morning, but I'm wobbly now so won't be moving off the sofa for a while otherwise I'll end up on the floor again.

Today's menu has changed so that Steve can finish off his sausages and I'll have a MugShot, so it'll be a low-calorie day for me, but that's OK 'cos other than Monday, each day has been too calorie-rich, so it'll be good to have a green/blue day to finish off the week.

I'm gonna go and make a hot drink for both of us so that I can hopefully warm up a bit, then I really will be staying on the sofa until I've recovered.

That's the freezer sorted and...

...plugged back in so when it goes back down to temperature, we'll be able to put loads of freezer stuff on Tuesday's grocery order (assuming it's frozen by tomorrow lunchtime of course) and I'll even let Steve stock up on his ice cream again.  I've still got several tubs of soya ice cream in the freezer so I'm sorted for a while and we've got plenty of pieces so we won't need those either, as well as a bag and a bit of vegan mince so we won't need that, but pizza's and lasagnes and chips and things like that can all go on then we'll have to just buy the frozen stuff for each week's menu after that.

A few things off...

...my to-do list, so I can have my breakfast now, then take the rubbish and recycling out.

Since my last blog post, I've:

  • Taken my carer's empty bowl through to the kitchen
  • Watered the seedlings/plants
  • Taken my morning pills
  • Completed the daily virus scan

My carer has just woken up and gone for a wee, so I'll use the opportunity to have my breakfast before I sort and take out the rubbish and recycling.

BBL.

Mornin' all

How are you all doing this morning?

My hayfever is already playing me up and I haven't even been out to water the seedlings/plants yet!

I've made my carer's breakfast for him and just generally cared for him for 89 minutes so far this morning, which is already 37 minutes more than he's cared for me all week... but apparently I don't do anything to support him and he "does everything" for me <shrug>

I've got 250g of raspberries to have for my breakfast today, then I've gotta do the gardening and sort out our rubbish and recycling for another week.  Gotta take my carer's breakfast bowl through to the kitchen first though!

I've got a couple of Amazon deliveries due today and other than the raspberries it's gonna be another day without food 'cos Steve's got his sausages to use up today and other than the allergen free ice cream, there's nothing else that I can have to eat.  That's alright though, cos my carer has eaten 19 times this week and I've only eaten 5 times (2 of which were a take-away and leftovers from the take-away) <shrug>

Best go and take my carer's empty bowl through to the kitchen and do the watering before I have my breakfast then take my pills, run the virus scan and take the rubbish and recycling out.

Saturday 28 May 2022

Nite nite orl

I've had a couple of late nights and early mornings this morning and I'm starting to feel it, so I'm gonna head off to beddy-byes for a well-deserved early night now.  I'll see you all in the morning.

Nite nite orl.

Just taken...

...my last two pills of the day and I'm gonna have an early night 'cos I've gotta be up early in the morning 'cos I'm expecting a couple of Amazon deliveries to hopefully help me to feel a bit better about my flabby belly (this belt and the pads to go on it) and also a new cover for my new Kindle Paperwhite.  Assuming the cover fits, I can put the original cover back onto my original Kindle which'll hopefully stop me getting so confused and it'll protect both of them again.

Wild birds' water bowl is...

...squeaky clean and refilled with fresh water now.  I took the opportunity of my carer being awake and in the bathroom to get it sorted out, so that I could just call for his help if my legs gave way underneath me 'cos there's no way I would have been able to get back to my feet again.  Our bathroom is right next to the back door so he would have been able to hear me while he was in there, instead of having to bellow at the top of my voice, disturbing our neighbours and risking him being asleep.

It's done and dusted until it rains again (that's what makes it so green and in need of a clean) or the birds/sun mean that it needs to be refilled.

Afternoon pill has been...

...crunched up and swallowed, so that's me dosed up until tonight now.

Watering done for the second/last time today

The bee plants are absolutely thriving and there's a couple of ever so tiny shoots in the butterfly pot, that have appeared since this morning which is kinda reassuring, but I can't see them being there for long 'cos that's happened two or three times before and either a bird has decided to have them for lunch or the wind has beheaded/uprooted them.  I'm pondering on maybe getting a butterfly bush that is already established so that there's less chance of me killing it lol

Monthly virus scan has...

...finished scanning every single file on my machine and found absolutely nothing nasty lurking anywhere, thankfully, so I can open my emails now and put my laptop on the floor whenever I need to again.

It managed it in about 6 hours which is considerably better than I was thinking (9-10 hours), so I can catch up on my emails again now.  Might make myself a mug of coffee to celebrate.

That's Steve's...

...sausages moved out of the ("big") chest freezer and put into the ("little") freezer on top of the fridge.  Apparently it'll only take "a few hours" to get rid of all the ice that's collected and turn it into water, then I'll plug it back in and hopefully it'll be back down to freezing temperature with less/no ice so that we can restart filling it again on Monday.  Assuming I haven't broken it by unplugging it, it might be worth doing it regularly 'cos this is the first time we've defrosted it since we got it maybe 10-15 years ago but there was too much ice to be able to move the basket without breaking it, the lid wouldn't close properly and we had to use a long handled screwdriver to chisel off the ice several times a week before we could even open the lid, so it was past overdue.

Too late to change our minds now though lol

Already done...

...over 5¼ hours of caring this morning, which brings the weekly running total up to almost 67 hours.

That's the...

...seedlings watered for this morning.  The two bees pots are absolutely thriving but there's still nothing happening in the butterfly pot for some reason.

When do seedlings officially become plants please?  Steve reckons it's when they've got leaves on 'em, which means that the seedlings have been plants from the day they started poking through the soil, but I'm not so sure.  I'm guessing the bees seedlings are now plants, but when did that change please?

Mornin' all

How are you all doing this morning?

My deep monthly scan is underway so it's gonna be another day of no meals 'cos I can't put my laptop on the floor while that's going on, so by bedtime tonight, my carer will have eaten 18 meals and I'll have gone for 3 days without any meals at all (other than the blueberries and peanuts I had yesterday).  I've gotta finish off the blueberries for breakfast 'cos today is their last day.

I'm also predicting that it'll be me going to the door for the top-up shop, bringing it in and putting it away, same as most weeks.

Gotta remember to take my morning pills, so I'm gonna do that now while I think of it.

OK, they're down the hatch and I'm dosed up until lunchtime now.

My hayfever is already through the roof, so I reckon it'll be another day of coughing, sneezing and sniffing day today.  What joy.

I'm gonna go out and water the seedlings now, so that I can get it over and done with until lunchtime... hopefully there will be less pollen floating around this early in the morning.

BFN.

Friday 27 May 2022

Nite nite orl

The side effects of my last two pills of the day are rapidly kicking in, so I'm gonna sign off for the night now.

Nite nite orl.

Seedlings watered...

...me missing my second meal of the day.  Literally the only solid things in my stomach today is 125g of blueberries and a portion of dry roasted peanuts.  Steve's had 2 proper meals so far today and he's gonna have a Chinese take-away for his tea, so he'll be eating 3 full meals today and I'll have blueberries, peanuts and maybe a bag of chips (as long as it's not delivered after 6pm at the very latest) in my belly for the entire day.

It'll be the same again tomorrow 'cos of my monthly virus scan so I won't be having breakfast, Steve's finishing off his sausages for lunch and having sandwiches for his tea so I won't have anything solid in my stomach again (instant soup, at best, for lunch) for the third day on the trot.  Sunday is potentially the same 'cos that's toasted tuna sandwiches for Steve and potentially toasted cheese sarnies for me, as long as the cheese doesn't mess me up again.  Good job that I'm at the top of the healthy weight range for my height really <shrug>

Just taken...

...my lunchtime pill, so I'm dosed up until tonight now.

Pills taken, review sorted...

...my carer is now awake, so I'd best go and make his breakfast then water the seedlings.

Book Review: "Isaac and the Egg" by Bobby Palmer

Kindle:
Hardback:

⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5

Let's start this review in the same way that I've started reviewing every book for a little while now - by saying that it's gonna start off with the full 5 stars and I'm always hopeful that it'll end with them all still in place when I reach the end of the book.

It's also my very first ebook on my new e-reader that arrived around 3 hours ago, so this book will be a test of that too.

Let's get started on the reading and reviewing:

Straight away I'm thrown straight into the action and I'm gripping my new e-reader, already hoping that the character will change his mind!

At only 3% a star is already coming off, just like the majority of other books I've read for potential trademark issues... it's been a fantastic first 3% but this author has already made my sense of fair-play kick into action - I've knocked a star off other fantastic books for using famous names potentially without permission, so the first star is, unfortunately, coming off this book already too.

I'm now at 8% and there hasn't been any sign of a new chapter (although, come to think of it, it didn't start off with a chapter number or title or anything like that either so maybe there aren't properly defined chapters in this book??) and I've stopped reading at an emboldened part that seems as good a place as any to stop.

I'm enjoying this book so far, but what on earth is the egg and why is Isaac feeling so low that he's suicidal and seemingly unable to function at his place (BTDT myself)?

I'm up to chapter THREE now apparently, but the previous two chapters weren't signalled at all.

I'm discovering more about the egg though and dare I say it, but I'm starting to care about Isaac and especially the egg now.  I think I also understand now, why the biscuit tin is so important to Isaac... no spoilers though  ;-)

Another sign of a good book is me letting a hot drink go almost stone cold lol

Wow.

The third chapter was incredibly intense and another drink has gone tepid, but I can't stop reading now!

The author is really in their stride now and this is an incredible book that is well worth a read... I've even raised a small smile in a few places which is pretty much unheard of!

Wow.

Another powerful chapter and I'm on the verge of welling up with tears now.

Egg and Isaac need each other and I know why now.  No spoilers again, but I'm thinking that the rest of the book is gonna be even more powerful than it has been so far.  I'm 59% of the way through it now and my drink has gone stone cold yet again.  It's a good job I like cold coffee innit?  lol

Just finished reading this absolutely incredible debut and if it hadn't been for the usage of those trademarks it would have been a very solid 5 stars.  A definite must-read.

Mornin' all

How are you all doing this morning?

I'm doing OK... gotta remember to put the review up while my carer is snoring his head off then take my morning pills and make my carer's breakfast for him when he wakes up for long enough for me to at least stand up 😉  I've already started the daily virus scan and I'm listening to the radio where someone is gonna become a millionaire at some point this morning.

Gonna take my pills while I'm waiting for the review to load up.

The daily virus scan is clear and tomorrow is the deep monthly scan so I doubt there will be any news tomorrow, but we shall see.

OK, pills taken and my carer is still deeply asleep so I'm gonna sort out the review now.

Thursday 26 May 2022

Nite nite orl

Just finished reading the book and I'm too wiped out to start messing around with HTML tonight, so I'm gonna shut down and aim to do that first thing tomorrow morning.

Nite nite orl

I figured...

...that instead of waiting for the end of the chapter and potentially forgetting to do it and killing them, I'd go out and give the seedlings their drink now, then I can safely spend the afternoon reading and continuing to review this book.

It's a beautiful day out there, so I've left the back door open which is bound to seriously affect my hayfever, but it'll also help to freshen the house a bit more too.

Looks like...

...breakfast was my only meal today 'cos Steve (my hubby/carer) has turned up his nose at the idea of having soup for lunch and said "I'll have the sausage sarnies when I get back [from my medical appointment] if I feel like it later on" so my only meal today will be the bowl of granola and 250g of raspberries I had for breakfast.  Good job I'm not too hungry atm innit?

I've taken my lunchtime pill, so I'm gonna finish reading this chapter then go and water the seedlings for the last time today.

Today's (26th May 2022) breakfast photo

Fruit overload on my breakfast this morning!  The raspberries gave me the sweetness I was craving yesterday though and my body is happy to have so much fruit first thing.

Breakfast this morning was fruit & nut granola, soya milk and 250g of fresh raspberries.

Here's this morning's photo:

Mornin' all

I completely forgot to say hi to you all when I came downstairs this morning and I've now had my breakfast and only just remembered!

So far this morning I've run my daily virus scan (still clear), taken my morning pills, watered the seedlings (one of the 38 Degrees ones is huge now), made breakfast for my carer and just generally cared for him for almost 2 hours this morning.  My carer, OTOH, has done absolutely bugger all to care for me.

I'm almost 4 hours into overtime already this week and my carer hasn't even achieved an hour yet which means he's gotta put in 8-hour days for the rest of the week which is as likely as me putting in 15 hour days (ie possible, but very very unlikely).

Got a book to keep reading and reviewing today, while my carer is asleep.

I'm gonna put my breakfast photo up now before I forget.

Nite nite orl

The side effects are rapidly kicking in tonight, so I'm off to beddy-byes now and I'll see you all again in the morning.

Nite nite orl.

I'm now...

...working overtime 'cos I've already put in the 35 required hours a week to be seen as a carer, so I'm working overtime now and my carer hasn't even achieved 1 hour of care for me so far this week.

Today's (25th May 2022) very late lunch photo

My newest Amazon delivery was due between 12pm and 3pm so I decided to wait until that had arrived before having my lunch instead of risking having to answer the door literally mid-mouthful lol

A very quick and simple lunch today - Linda McCartney's vegetarian nuggets.  I had the whole package (ie 5 servings) 'cos Steve had his pork sausage sandwiches for his lunch and there wasn't a way to store the rest of 'em and there wasn't anything I could have with them (other than the sauce) so we agreed that I'd have them all for my lunch today 'cos Steve's sausages are meaty so I can't have them 'cos I'm vegetarian and allergic to dairy.

Here's today's lunch photo:

Menus sorted for...

...the next 3 weeks.

We'll be using up things week to week without stocking up on things and forgetting that we've got them after the freezer has defrosted and gone back down to temperature at the weekend.  We'll just be getting bread every couple of weeks to freeze but other than that, it's everything getting used up soon after it's been bought.

I've even put in a Sunday roast treat from a local independent cafe in a couple of weeks too... I think we'll deserve a treat by then 'cos most of our meals are home-cooked now and it's been a looong time since we had a take-away for lunch.  Having a minimum basket total of only £25 instead of £40 is helping to save money too, so I'll be able to afford it by then.

We'll still have 3 vegan "chicken" pieces and a package of vegemince to use up by the end of that week, but that's OK 'cos we tend to get through quite a bit of that so we'll be able to put it to good use in future weeks.

Today's (25th May 2022) breakfast photo

I tried a new-to-me granola this morning - fruit & nut instead of tropical fruit - considerably more boring and far less sweet but I didn't know that when I tried it... definitely needs fresh fruit to up the sweetness, but I ain't got any so I'll have to make the best of the couple of raisins that are in each bowl lol

Here's today's breakfast photo:

Mornin' orl

How are you all doing this morning?

I've remembered not to open my emails 'cos of the weekly virus scan and I've opened up my account page on Amazon to check the delivery time of my new Kindle... it still says "by 10pm" at the moment lol

I'll go and do the washing up when my carer wakes up then make his breakfast for him.  He's cracking open his pack of sausages today which means it's the veggie nuggets for me, instant soup tomorrow, then 2 days of going hungry while he finishes off the bag and 1½ loaves of bread... as long as my carer eats three times a day, it doesn't matter that I go hungry, right?

He's just woken up and is going for a wee, so I'm gonna take the opportunity to do the washing up.

Tuesday 24 May 2022

Nite nite orl

I've drained my mug and started yawning, so I'm heading off to beddy-byes now.

Back again in the morning.

Nite nite orl.

Just taken...

...my last two pills of the day, so as soon as I've finished off my peach tea, I'm gonna head to bed, even if I haven't started yawning 'cos I need an early night I reckon.

Finished reading and reviewing the book...

...so now it's time to catch up on everything I've put on hold over the last 27 hours lol

Just invested in...

...a new Kindle Paperwhite 'cos I got an email from Amazon saying that their support for my version of the Kindle is gonna come to an end in August, so I've just bought myself a new one and I ticked the box to link it to my account so hopefully I'll be able to get all my current books on the new one.  It's the 32GB version which apparently holds thousands of books so hopefully it'll keep me going for a while yet lol

Today's (24th May 2022) breakfast photo

I finished off the container of tropical fruits granola this morning and Steve decanted a new-to-me bag into the container ready for tomorrow.  Tomorrows will be a nutty one and I haven't got any fruit left so we'll see what I think to that when I've finished the bowl!

Here's today's breakfast photo:

Mornin' all

So far this morning I've tried to load up my FitBit app which didn't work, so I had to reboot my machine, taken my morning pills, started the daily virus scan, got myself a glass of water and cared for my carer for over an hour so far this morning.

I've got a wonderful book to read and review so I'm not gonna even look at doing the news today and I'd best have a big breakfast 'cos it's vegan sausage rolls on the menu for lunch today and there's only one box of 'em so Steve'll be having all of them for his lunch rather than sharing with me.  I won't even be able to have bread and spread for lunch 'cos we need to save the bread for Steve's sausage sandwiches this week (at least 4 slices a day, for 3 days) as well as his sandwiches for his tea will use up the 1½ loaves that we've got in the house.

The Green Man has saved me the job of watering the seedlings this morning, so I'll be able to go and make Steve's breakfast for him when he wakes up properly.

Right, time to see if I can read a chapter of this book before Steve wakes up properly.

Monday 23 May 2022

Nite nite orl

I'm off to beddy-byes now.

Nite nite orl.

Just taken...

...my last two pills of the day and I'm gonna head to bed as soon as the side effects start kicking in.

Aaaand...

...my navigation page re-organisation is done and dusted.  Hopefully it'll make the first page load considerably quicker and my future visitors won't have to do anywhere near as much scrolling from now on.

Today's (23rd May 2022) lunch photo

T'was an especially yummy lunch of vegetarian sweet and sour chicken and rice for lunch today.  Steve's belly must be shrinking 'cos he couldn't finish his lunch so I polished it off for him.  I've still gotta consume 676 calories today, according to my FitBit app, so I'll have to have 2 drinking chocolates this afternoon... gotta let my belly process lunch first though! 😏

Here's today's lunch photo:

Cor lummy!

I've just had my lunch and watered the seedlings and that was too much... should've given it an hour or so between eating and watering.  I don't feel sick or anything, but I'm incredibly wobbly on my feet now.

Time to resize the lunch photo, put it up on here and Instagram, take my lunchtime pill, then keep on with coding the slight re-organisation of my navigation page.

That's the...

...rubbish and recycling collected for another week, the collectors schmoozed with and the sacks, caddy and box brought back into the house.

I can carry on with reorganising my navigation page while my carer is asleep now.

Today's (23rd May 2022) breakfast photo

My usual tropical fruit granola, finished off the carton of soya milk and had blueberries on top today.  There's one more punnet of blueberries in the fridge which I'll have tomorrow, then that's it.

Here's today's breakfast photo:

Mornin' all

How are you all doing this morning?

I've already cared for my carer for 57 minutes this morning, so I reckon it'll be another high caring day today.  I managed over 12 hours yesterday which took the weekly total to almost 82 hours but Steve didn't even manage 3½ hours for the entire week.  It's gonna be another week like that again but with even less support for me 'cos he'll only be cooking for both of us twice (today's sweet 'n' sour and the 2 veggie sausages later on in the week) this week 'cos he's gonna have sausage sarnies the other 3 days and I'll be doing the vegan sausage rolls for us.  Other than today, I'll barely be eating but Steve'll have 3 meals and entire packets of biscuits as snacks every day, so he'll have a full belly and I'll spend most of the week living on water and 3 (or is it 4?) tubs of ice cream for the week.  As long as Steve doesn't go hungry, that's OK though, right?

This morning's virus scan was clear and I'm about to take my morning pills to set me up for the day and give my body everything it needs to survive in case my carer decides not to cook again.

OK, morning pills are down the hatch, so I've just gotta keep caring for my carer until he wakes up now, then I can go and make breakfast, weigh myself, download the FitBit spreadsheet for last week, code and upload it, water the seedlings and maybe take a painkiller if I'm still in pain.

Sunday 22 May 2022

Nite nite orl

I'm using the opportunity of my carer being awake and eating to have an early night tonight, so I'm gonna say nite nite to you all now and I'll see you hopefully bright but not too early in the morning.

Nite nite orl.

80 hours exactly

I've now put in an 80 hour week, which is double the number of hours worked in a full time job and I haven't had a word of thanks for it, let alone recognition or payment for it.

My carer hasn't even cared for me for 5% of that and he willingly accepts recognition, the title and payment for caring for me.

I've just asked him to email me with his breakdown of the care he's provided for me and he goes "haven't done it this week" then shrugged his shoulders.  It's a good job that I have again this week then, innit.

I put in more hours before 10am in a single day than he does for the entire week, yet apparently he is my carer and he does everything for me <shrug>

Today's (22nd May 2022) lunch photo

I've now used our new cooker for the first time to cook pizza baguettes for me an' 'im.

Steve's cooking tomorrow 'cos it's sweet 'n' sour which involves using a frying pan for the vegan pieces then sloshing the sauce into the pan when they are cooked through and I really don't feel up to attempting that yet, but I'll be cooking vegan sausage rolls on Tuesday then surviving on vegan ice cream and 2 vegetarian sausages for the other 5 days next week 'cos Steve's got 20 pork sausages to get through.

Here's the last photo of the week:

Busy few hours!

In the last 75 minutes I've cooked and eaten lunch, took the empty plates back through to the kitchen, watered the seedlings, prepared the caring spreadsheet for next week and I'm about to go and take our rubbish and recycling out for another week.

I've still gotta take my lunchtime pill, refill the box and keep caring for my carer all afternoon.  I can't see my carer doing any more caring today, so hold on while I do his adding up for the week... 3 hours and 24 minutes instead of the 35 hour minimum he's supposed to do.  I've already cared for my carer for 6 hours 34 minutes today which brings the weekly total up to 75 hours and 56 minutes - apparently I'm not the carer and do nothing to support him though <shrug>

Time to get the lunch photo resized and put up for the last time this week, then I'll take my afternoon pill, refill the box and then take the rubbish and recycling outside.

Today's (22nd May 2022) breakfast photo

Back to the tropical fruits granola with soya milk this morning but with raspberries instead of blueberries for a change.  I've got a punnet of mango chunks to use up before tomorrow, so I'm thinking I'll squish some up with water instead of milk later on otherwise I'll have sticky fingers and no way to unstickify them if I have them for my breakfast tomorrow.  I've got a couple of punnets of blueberries that run out of date on Tuesday, so I'll have them on my breakfast tomorrow morning.

It's pizza's for lunch today and that'll be another test of our new oven... hopefully the cheese will be gorgeously melted and even have a touch of colour on it, without being burnt.

Here's today's photo:

Mornin' all

How are you all doing this morning?

I've been sniffing and sneezing and sniffing and my eyes have been itchy and watery and itchy since I woke up, so it's gonna be another high pollen count day today.

I've already guzzled 1 litre of pop, so I'm gonna go and get myself a glass of water to keep me hydrated until my carer wakes up, then I'll go and make his breakfast for him and take his empty bowl through to the kitchen.  It's granola and raspberries for me today 'cos the top-up shop that Marie got yesterday had 2 punnets of raspberries with a use by date of today on them.

Just had the reminder come up to take my morning pills, so hold on while I do that now, before I forget.

OK, pills taken, so I've just gotta remember my lunchtime pill then refill my pill caddy ready for next week.

My carer is deeply asleep 'cos he's snoring and grunting so it'll be a late breakfast for us today, seemingly.  The caring totals for the week so far look like this:

Me caring for my carer:  71 hours 2 minutes
My carer caring for me: 3 hours 22 minutes

But apparently "I do everything for her" and "I make all her meals and drinks" which is total and utter bollox and he's got proof of how little he does now 'cos of the spreadsheets I've been asking him to keep since 1st January which he always forgets to do, so it's a good job that I update both innit!

He's just woken up and headed to the bathroom, so we're having an early breakfast after all.  Bet he'll fall asleep on the toilet though! Gotta go and water the seedlings too, between making my carer's breakfast and my own, so that I don't forget.

The virus scan didn't find any nasties on my machine, so that's reassuring.

I was wrong about him falling asleep in the bathroom 'cos he's just walked back in here, puffing and panting from making those 10-15 steps.  Yep, totally serious.

Better go and make his breakfast for him and go and water the seedlings now, 'cos it's not like he'll do it.

Saturday 21 May 2022

Nite nite orl

I've just taken my last two pills of the day and was yawning before I took 'em, so I'm going straight to bed tonight.

Nite nite orl.

Just watered the seedlings and...

...the 38 Degrees seedlings are absolutely thriving!

Literally all I've done since sowing the seeds is watering them a couple of times a day and literally nothing else but they are growing like mad and they are gradually becoming stronger too.  I don't reckon it'll be long before they are big enough to maybe start flowering 'cos they are shooting up every day and in the 3 weeks since I first sowed them, they have absolutely flourished!

I last took a photo 10 days ago and there is a noticeable growth even since then!

Here's today's photo:

Time to...

...go and give the seedlings their afternoon drink now that I've made one for Steve.  Gonna try and remember to take a photo of the three pots too 'cos 2 of 'em (the bees ones) are absolutely thriving now!

Today's (21st May 2022) lunch photo

Another ready-made meal of lasagne (vegetable for me, beef for Steve) that was sooo simple to cook and tasted spot on.  Having a fan oven now definitely helps with the evenly spreaded cooking of whatever is in being cooked and I don't think it uses so much electricity either because it goes into a slightly cooler oven (in this case it was 180° instead of 200° for a non-fan oven).

It's pizza baguettes tomorrow so that will be another chance for the oven to impress us - will it brown off the cheese or just melt it like our previous oven did?

Here's today's photo:

Lunch today is...

...in the oven now and it's definitely lasagne's (beef for Steve and veggie for me).  Tomorrow is the pizza baguettes then it's just Steve's pork sausages, a loaf of bread, 2 cornetto-type ice creams for Steve and the vegan sausage rolls left in the freezer then.  The little freezer is totally crammed with stuff (vegetarian pieces and a bag of vegemince along with 4 vegan ice creams, 2 vegan sausages and about a quarter of a bag of vegemince) so we're definitely eating a proper lunch today, hopefully tomorrow too, then it's just the veggie sausage rolls and the bread to get through between us and Steve's cornetto's and pork sausages to eat, then that's the freezer totally empty for the first time since Steve bought it!

Only 1 minute away from...

...having cared for my carer for 4 hours already this morning.

Today's (21st May 2022) breakfast photo

I'd forgotten how dry the toast was and I'm left parched now, so I'm gonna go and get myself a glass of water to help my throat to recover.

We're gonna be defrosting our chest freezer soon, so we're using up all our stock, which means that it's lasagne for lunch today and pizza baguettes tomorrow and we've got a full loaf of bread in the freezer so it's gonna be toast for breakfast tomorrow at least, and potentially a couple of days next week too, depending on if Steve want's sandwiches for his tea or if he's just planning on having the bread for his sausage sandwiches next week.  Either way is fine by me, as long as it doesn't go to waste!

T'was 2 slices of wholemeal bread and dairy free spread for breakfast this morning.

Here's this morning's breakfast photo:

That's...

...me fed and the crops watered, so I've just gotta resize my breakfast photo, put it into the FitBit app and upload it to this blog and my Instagram thing, while I'm waiting for Marie to bring over our top-up shop, then I'll put it away and make a start on the news.  I'm regretting having the coffee on an empty stomach though, especially as it was a caffeinated one 'cos I've been for 4 wee's since I made it already this morning lol

Mornin' all

How are you all doing this morning?

I reckon the pollen count for today is already pretty high 'cos I'm sneezing, my nose is sprinting and my eyes are really itchy and watering already today and I've only been up for just over an hour!

I've taken my morning pills, run the daily virus scan (still clear), made a mug of coffee for me an' 'im and cared for my carer for 50 minutes so far this morning.  I managed 13 hours and 1 minute of care for him by the time I went to bed last night, so the current weekly total (excluding this morning) is 59 hours by me and 2 hours 31 minutes (including this morning) so he'll have to do nothing but care for me this weekend, no sleeping to hit the target, but I doubt we'll even make 4 hours of care by my carer all week.

Gotta remember to water the seedlings when my carer wakes up, whenever that is.

Steve's decided that he doesn't want any breakfast, so I'll go and do the washing up then make myself a couple of slices of toast for a change, then water the seedlings after that.

Did I say yesterday that we're gonna attempt to defrost our chest freezer soon?  I changed our menu's yesterday so that we could use up all our freezer stuff and not get any more with Tuesday's grocery order, which means that it's lasagne's for lunch today and pizza baguettes for lunch tomorrow, then Steve's having 3 lots of sausage sandwiches next week so that we can get rid of those, which'll and I'll be finishing off the 2 vegetarian sausages on one of those days and having vegan ice creams for my lunch on the other days.  Far from healthy, but Steve's gotta eat his sausages and there's nothing that I can have when Steve has them, so I might as well use up the ice creams while he's having his sausage sandwiches!

Friday 20 May 2022

Nite nite orl

The side effects of my last two pills of the day are starting to kick in, so I'm gonna shut down and head off to beddy-byes now.

I'll be back, as always, in the morning.

Look after each other and keep safe.

Nite nite orl.

Last pills of the day have been...

...taken and I'm hoping for an early night tonight, so I'm gonna start shutting all my programmes and apps down now.

That's the deliveries...

...safely delivered, so I've got a cardigan without a hole in the right elbow and fan heater to keep me warm/cool from now on.  I bought the other one back in 2018 so it did really well for a cheap thing!

Gonna give the fan heater it's first try tonight and, assuming the cardigan fits, I'll keep it for going out to medical appointments and stuff that I would prefer not to wear holey clothes 😏  Just for keeping warm around the house the one I'm currently wearing is fine and dandy though!

Looks like...

...we're emptying the big freezer and defrosting it next weekend.

I've taken off all the freezer stuff on Tuesdays grocery order and we'll be having lasagnes tomorrow, pizzas on Sunday and we're Christening next week "sausage sandwich week" 'cos Steve's having sausage sandwiches 3 times and I'm having a tub of ice cream instead of a proper meal.  Apparently it only takes 10-15 minutes with a bowl of boiling water in it and the freezer turned off, so we'll be able to do a major re-stocking the week after and be able to do a realistic menu from week to week without having to go searching and getting stressed out each week.

Afternoon pill is...

...down the hatch and it looks like I've taken 'em all at the right time so far this week, which is good going by me and I've definitely felt more human this week so they are obviously working.

Just given...

...the seedlings a small drink just in case there isn't any rain later on.  I used 2 very full jugs between all 5 pots instead of my usual ¾ of a jug for each of the 3 pots of seedlings and a 4th jug between the two ex-tomato pots.

The 38 Degrees seedlings are going great guns, the Amazon bees are coming along nicely and there are even a few tiny green leaves risking coming through now on the butterflies pot.  It might just be my imagination or dust or whatever, but there are a couple of tiny white areas in the Amazon bees pot.  They are barely the size of a pin head, but that's happened since yesterday evening and they are definitely sprouting and gaining strength since yesterday too, so I haven't killed any of the seeds yet, I've just gotta be more patient lol

Today's (20th May 2022) lunch photo

A very quick and simple lunch today:  battered onion rings and veggie hoops.  Yumsk.

I'm nicely full without being bloated which means I'll be able to be more active online this afternoon, instead of bloated and uncomfortable and not being able to do anything other than groan and burp.

Here's the photo:

*sigh*

Just been having a quick squizz at LinkedIn and there's a very rare job on there that's right up my alleyway but my disability means that I can't even get to the end of the street I live in, let alone put in a full day at work in the sector that has claimed my heart since I was 16 years old.  It's in my City, I just don't know where abouts it is and if it would mean getting a bus (I haven't got a driving license) then that's even more off the cards.  I know how much my qualification is worth now though but that's a minor point in my eyes, it's the customers that seal the deal for me and always have.

Both of my Amazon orders are...

...now out for delivery and the slot is 1.45pm to 4.45pm so I'm hoping we'll be able to have an early lunch so that I don't answer the door with a mouthful of onion rings lol

Today's (20th May 2022) breakfast photo

Already got 2 of my 5-a-day inside me 'cos today was the last day of the blueberries so I munched my way through 250g of them alongside the tropical fruits granola and soya milk.

Here's today's breakfast photo:

Mornin' all

How are you all getting on this morning?

My Amazon deliveries are due today and I'm predicting at least one of 'em will be late 'cos it hasn't even been dispatched yet, but my account says it's due for delivery "by 10pm today" lol

My carer is fast asleep and snoring his head off, so I'm gonna make another prediction that I won't be getting very much care or support from him today either.

I'm already approaching 11 hours overtime so far this week (it'll be 11 hours at 6.44am) yet he hasn't even managed 2 hours of care for me all week combined.

This morning's virus scan was clear and I'll take my pills after I've made my carer's breakfast for him then I'll do the washing up ready for lunchtime then go and water the seedlings.

He's just woken up so I'd best go and make his breakfast for him.

BBL

Thursday 19 May 2022

Nite nite orl

My eyelids are starting to droop after such an early morning, so I'm starting to shut down all my programmes now then I'll head off to beddy-byes.

Nite nite orl.

And that makes 3

I've made all three of Steve's meals today so he's had a full belly and all I've had all day is a drinking chocolate for breakfast and a serving of peanuts and a serving of sultanas for lunch, qwelling the hunger with a decaff tea, peach tea, lemon tea and decaf coffee.  My hydration is through the roof but I've only had 1375 calories today, instead of the 1500-2000 my body needs to stop me from losing weight.

I'll definitely be eating tomorrow though - it'll be my usual granola and blueberries for breakfast then it's onion rings and veggie hoops for lunch, so not a high calorie day, but hopefully more than I've had today.

I've taken my last pills of the day, so I'm just waiting for the side effects to kick in now.

That's the menu's done for...

...the next 5 weeks and the last 2 weeks'll be what we've already got in the cupboard, fridge and freezers so they should hopefully be very minimal shops of things like drinks and ice creams and Steve's teas and stuff.  I've even put in a treat on the Sunday of the last planned week that we can have as long as we stick to the menu's up until then.  It's been aaaages since we had it and as long as we keep sticking to the menu's, I reckon we'll deserve it.

We are doing considerably better than we were 8 months ago and now that we've got the new oven, we haven't got any excuses any more lol

Washing up done...

...seedlings watered, me on the floor crawling back in here, so I'm gonna be stuck on the sofa all afternoon for saftey's sake now.

Steve's fed again, soooo...

...I can go and water the seedlings again, then hopefully that's it (other than bathroom visits) until bedtime, unless Steve wants me to make him another drink.  He'll hopefully have finished his lunch by the time I've sorted out the seedlings so I can go and wash his bowl and mug up before coming back in here.

Wish me luck that I stay upright this time!

I've already...

...cared for my carer for 6 hours this morning, so it's looking like a 13 or possibly even a 14 hour day of caring for my carer today and he hasn't even managed 2 hours so far this week... apparently he does everything for me and I do nothing for him though <shrug>

That's Steve fed...

...the seedlings watered, the washing up done and Steve's bowl taken back through to the kitchen.  I'm not feeling stable enough to make anything for myself, so I'm going without breakfast today and doubt I'll have recovered enough to make two mugs of soup at lunchtime and I won't eat anything tonight, so my entire days calories will come from hot drinks today.  As long as Steve eats and drinks though, that's all that matters, right?

He's got a medical appointment today so I'll be able to breathe and relax for about an hour this afternoon/evening.

I've already cared for Steve for 3½ hours this morning compared to his weekly total of 1 hour 47 minutes.  Apparently he "does everything for her" though <shrug>

Mornin' all

By the time I was allowed to go to bed last night, I'd put in an extra 50 minutes of care for my carer, which means that I only needed to provide 45 minutes of care this morning to hit the minimum and I've already done that so I'm working unpaid, unrecognised overtime until bedtime on Sunday now so I reckon it'll be an 85 hour week this week.

The fan heater in the bedroom has finally given up the ghost, so I've gotta find a replacement for it now.  Gonna put the current one on Freegle instead of just binning it.

When my carer wakes up, I'll go and make his breakfast for him, water the seedlings then make my own breakfast.  He's got a medical appointment later on today and I'm predicting that he'll find a reason to cancel it yet again.

Forgot to publish this again... woops!

I've now ordered a new fan heater and cardigan from Amazon that have a guaranteed delivery date of tomorrow... I bet it'll be a late delivery though and I'll be desperate to crawl into bed when it arrives lol

I'm about to put the konked out fan heater onto Freegle then I'll go and make breakfast and water the seedlings.  I've already taken my morning pills and run the daily virus scan which was still clear, which is reassuring.

Nite nite orl

My body is rapidly giving up on me, so I'm gonna head to bed now.

I'll have hit the minimum caring requirement in under two hours tomorrow morning then I'll be working overtime from about 7.30am tomorrow, even though I'm not recognised as a carer <shrug>

Nite nite orl.

Today's (18th May 2022) lunch photo

Another simple lunch today of potato croquettes and a blob of tomato ketchup.  Nowt wrong with simple meals!  Tomorrow is instant soup because of Steve's medical appointment just before his GP surgery closes for the day and him getting travel sick, but Friday is onion rings and veggie hoops so we'll have the oven as well as the hob going then, for the first time since we got it!

I'm hoping I'll be allowed to make a couple of the simpler meals next week 'cos Steve'll hopefully be used to the cooker's personality by then.  We're even gonna be able to have Pasta Bake later on in the week too which I'm really looking forward to... that'll have to be a meal made by Steve though 'cos it would just be too heavy to lift, then add the heat too, it just wouldn't be safe for me to do.

Here's today's lunch photo:

Backups are done and dusted for another week

The backups are done and dusted now, so I can download my email for the first time today now.

Lunch is gonna be started at about 12.20pm apparently which is OK by me!  I just want to eat a proper lunch again!

I quickly gave up on finding myself a cardigan - there were just too many options lol

I've already cared for my carer for 5 hours and 24 minutes so far this morning, so I'm already working overtime today and we're only at lunchtime!  My carer has cared for me for 82 minutes so far this week so it's gonna be another low caring week with him not even providing 10% of the required minimum to be recognised as a carer.

Grocery order placed for...

...3 weeks time - nearly forgot to book it!

Virus scan finished and it found...

...no nasties, so I've started the backups and I'm hoping they will be finished in time for us to have an earlyish lunch after all.

I'm looking for a new cardigan on Amazon to see me through the colder months... clothes seem to be cheaper when they are less likely to be bought, so I tend to buy Summer clothes in Winter and Winter clothes in Summer.  My current 2 cardi's have been used daily since 2018 so I reckon they've just about earnt their retirement now, don't you?  😉

Today's (18th May 2022) breakfast photo

I was considerably less heavy-handed with the blueberries this morning lol

Just my usual tropical fruits granola, soya milk and blueberries for breakfast and I've got a decaff coffee on the go while Steve is asleep too.

I had a peach ice tea very first thing which is playing havoc with my bladder but that's my caffeine consumption for the rest of the week drunk now, so it's decaf tea and coffee until Monday when I'm allowed another "2-3 servings a week" according to my GP.

It's potato croquettes for lunch today and I'm trying to remain hopeful that we will really have them, but Steve's already cooked twice this week so he might find a reason not to do it, in which case I'll have to gulp down my anxieties and make them myself.

Here's today's breakfast photo:

That's Steve fed...

...seedlings watered (the single seedling is no more in the butterfly tub), phone fully charged, me fed and I've just made myself a decaf coffee.  I've managed 7 active minutes this morning, so I think I've worked out how to get them every morning now - make Steve's breakfast, then water the seedlings straight after bringing his bowl in, then make my own breakfast.  Now that I think I've worked out how to do it, I'm gonna keep doing that.

I've gotta sort out the breakfast photo then the news then the backups then lunch then the washing up.

Mornin' all

How are you all doing this morning?

I've already had a pretty productive start to the morning 'cos I've already:

  • started charging up my phone
  • taken my morning pills
  • started the weekly virus scan
  • cared for my carer for 51 minutes

My carer has decided that he wants a hot drink before he has his breakfast so I'd best go and do that for him now, then water the seedlings, then make breakfast for us both.

It's gonna be a very yucky day for my hayfever today 'cos I've already started sneezing, my nose is runny, throat is scratchy and my eyes are streaming, but apart from that I've never felt better 😞

Steve's just taken his pills, so I'd best go and make his drink for him now.

Nite nite orl

The side effects are coming hard and fast tonight, so I'm gonna start shutting down all my apps/programmes and log off for the night now.

Nite nite orl.

Pills taken, carer's food...

...made and eaten, so I've just gotta take the empty plate out to the kitchen and wait for the side effects to kick in now.

Given the...

...seedlings their second watering of the day and the 38 Degrees ones desperately needed the water 'cos as soon as the water hit the soil, it disappeared instantly.  The Amazon seedlings needed the water too, but not quite so desperately 'cos there aren't anywhere near as many seedlings in those pots.  The single butterfly seedling seems to have lost all it's strength to stand upright, so I can't see it surviving unfortunately.  The tomato plant pots couldn't have cared less either way lol

Today's (17th May 2022) lunch photo

A quick and simple lunch today of just 6 waffles and a couple of decent squirts of brown sauce.  Apparently tomorrow is gonna be another simple day of potato croquettes, Thursday is instant soup 'cos of Steve's medical appointment then Friday is onion rings and veggie hoops so that'll be a way to test out the oven and hob at the same time... we still haven't used our new grill yet though lol

Here's today's lunch photo for you all:

Just watered...

...the seedlings and the 38 Degrees Bees seeds are absolutely flourishing.  The Amazon Bees are starting to pick up but the Amazon Butterflies are still pretty much non-existant lol  That's OK though... maybe they are just late to grow or something?  I'm happy that ⅔ of the seeds are growing with very little input from me (other than the planting and watering them) so that's pretty good going I reckon!

Today's (17th May 2022) breakfast photo

Just had my breakfast and the blueberries go out of date tomorrow and I haven't got enough soya milk for 2 smoothies, so I made an on-the-spot decision to have one of the boxes on my breakfast today and the same again tomorrow.

It was a good choice by me 'cos it added a healthy zap of sweetness to the granola and was a healthy way to get a few more goodies into me without too much effort.

The photo looks like it's a bowlful of blueberries, but I promise you there's tropical fruits granola beneath them 😉

Here's today's photo:

Mornin' all

How's things for you this morning?

It seems to be a pretty cool day out there today so hopefully the seedlings won't get burnt to a frazzle.

Our groceries are due in about 3 hours and I haven't had the substitution email yet - hopefully everything will be in stock.  Gotta remember to put together another order ready for booking the slot first thing tomorrow morning.

I've just taken my morning pills and they went down pretty easily so hopefully that means it'll be a good day for me today.

Steve's just made me another bottle of squash and brought it in for me this time, so he's now cared for me for 38 minutes so far this week and I've cared for him for 12 hours and 58 minutes... apparently I don't do anything to support him though <shrug>

Time to go and make my carer's breakfast for him now apparently, then it's time to water the seedlings for the first (only?) time today.

Nite nite orl

The side effects are starting to kick in, so I'm shutting down for the night now.

Nite nite orl.

That's Steve fed and...

...my last two pills of the day popped, so I'll be heading off to bed as soon as the side effects start kicking in.

I'm only 25 minutes away from putting in double the daily required amount of caring for my carer and his total of caring for me is only 35 minutes, so he's got 34 hours and 25 minutes to do over the next six days and I'm on track for only needing to put in another 25 hours which will, if it's like most other weeks, be done and dusted just after lunch on Wednesday, then I'll be clocking up significant overtime that I'm neither being paid nor recognised for and my carer is receiving both for not even doing ⅒ of the weekly required amount, but that doesn't matter as long as he gets paid for (not) doing it, right?

I'd best go and do the washing up while Steve's eating his tea.

Updated totals for tomorrow

Steve wanted sausages and another tub of ice cream, so predictably that meant taking some of my stuff off and the totals now loook like this:

My stuff:  £9.34
Steve's stuff:  £24.72
Joint stuff:  £8.79

So Steve's stuff is well over half of the entire order yet again but it's my stuff then the joint stuff that comes off to make room for more of Steve's.  I don't think that there has been a single week that my stuff is significantly the most expensive, like Steve's is every week.  Last week was maybe £3-4 more expensive than his but that's an extremely rare occurance.
