Mornin' all

Even though I had a veeery late night, I still managed pretty much 8½ hours of sleep and it could, potentially, be a late night tonight too 'cos my 2 orders from yesterday are "due by 9pm" although I'm seriously hoping they arrive well before then.

I've taken my morning pills and run the daily virus scan, so I'm just waiting for my morning carer now.

I've got a litre of soya milk in the fridge that I wanna try using with my vegan protein powder, but I dunno if I can or not... I don't suppose you know do you?  I got it so that I can finish off the cereal, so that it doesn't go off, but if there's any left I wanna try the high protein soya milk with the protein powder so that I can boost my protein levels even more - I can't afford to waste either of them if they don't go together though, so opinions please?

Gonna sort out today's to-do list now.

Nite nite orl

It's a reeeeeally late night tonight after the no-show and the late pickup from Olio, but I've taken my pills now so I'm orf to beddy-byes.  I'm expecting a delivery every day from tomorrow to Saturday and I've got things advertised on Freegle as well as Olio so knowing my luck it will all turn up in quick succession without giving me time to recover in between lol

I'm shutting down for the night now.

Nite nite orl.

  • Run weekly virus scan

  • Do my daily laps
  • Do the backups
  • Turn the immersion heater on

  • Get dressed
  • Turn the immersion heater off
  • Come up with next menu
  • Do the news
  • Have lunch
  • Put lunchtime photo up on here and Instagram
  • Take lunchtime pill
  • Keep an eye on Olio to see if anyone wants the food - someone is coming for the doughnuts at 3pm - they're already late so will they be a frustrating no-show? - the doughnuts have just gone so it's just the reeeeeaaaaalllly old food left now
  • Offer Steve's footrest on Freegle
  • Write some more of the sequel
  • Read and review 3 Kindle Unlimited books
  • Take evening pills
  • Go to bed

You and me...

...head on as of now, choccie addiction!

I've just decanted the two cartons into the tub and put the tub into the fridge so I'm going head on with my choccy addiction now 'cos it's very nearly as easy to get to the chocolate as it was in here so I'm really pushing myself now.

I'm doing less well with my spending addiction 'cos I've spent very nearly £50 on Amazon in the first week of June on things that I wanted rather than desperately needed (a bathroom clock and new mirror today alone... I need both of them but not desperately) so things are heading downwards with that one, but I'm determined not to spend any more until I get my groceries delivered on Tuesday.

I think I've worked out...

...how to pretty much stop my chocolate addiction - don't knowingly have it within easy reach!

I used to have 2 cartons within bending reach decanted into a tub and I knew that all I needed to do was reach down and help myself whenever I wanted to.  Since finishing the decanted tub at the start of this week and deliberately not replacing the chocolate, I haven't even given chocolate a second thought, despite there being another 8 cartons waiting for me in the fridge that I see every day.

I've got a drinking chocolate on the go now, and I've finished off that tub now and there are 3 spare ones waiting for me and within easy sight whenever I look over there, but based on the treat-sized chocolate experience, it'll be a 'shall-I-shan't-I?' thing tomorrow then I won't even give it a second thought!

The chocolate addiction will always be with me, but I reckon that if I can limit myself to a certain amount and/or keep it for celebrations (like with the J2O's and JanNo/NaNo)/to lift my mood then I reckon I can deal with it now!

When I've finished this drinking chocolate, I'm gonna take my chocolate tub through to the kitchen and decant the oldest two cartons of chocolate that would have lasted me 1 day instead of 3 weeks a month ago and I've never got to the point of having chocolate for long enough to consider it to be oldest either, so that's another achievement.  Where was I?  Oh yeah, I'm gonna take the chocolate tub through to the kitchen, decant two of the cartons and leave it in the fridge.  My next challenge will be to leave it alone until next weekend - will I make it?  I certainly hope so!

Well that was...

...pretty much spot-on!

It was warm enough (though might leave it for an extra 5 minutes next time 'cos I like my baths to be almost steaming) but it didn't burn me like the first time or barely reach tepid like the second time but I'm very nearly there now!  I'm hoping that having the immersion heater on for 50 minutes instead of the 45 minutes today or the hour the first time and putting the plug in just before I start running the water will be the perfect temperature for me without needing to use the plastic jug to get cold water to get it down to a safe heat.

Like with my clothes, I'm gonna start to experiment with other bath products 'cos my hands are sooo dry now, so I need to find either a moisturising bubble bath or some other thing that provides, rather than takes the moisture out of my skin... I haven't got a clue what that would be though but now that I can have regular hot baths, I can experiment until I find something that works for me.

I need to remember to invest in a new hand-held mirror so that I can shave my pits and ideally a bathroom clock so that I can relax rather than rush like I did today.

Today's (7th June 2023) breakfast photo

In another break from the norm, my breakfast today was 5 raspberry jam doughnuts and a bottle of orange juice.  My belly is pretty messed up now, but I don't know if it's 'cos they had one of my allergens (most likely dairy) in the recipe or if it's 'cos there were so many of them so close together... it's too late now, either way, obviously.

Mornin' all

I'm about to jinx it, but after a vvvveeeerrrryyyy sssllllooowww start, my weekly virus scan started first time and it's at 30% already.  I remembered not to open my email programmes too, so I'm having a good morning so far.

I've taken my morning pills and started charging up my phone.  I'm gonna have doughnuts for breakfast when my carer comes 'cos they go out of date today, so I'm getting an early hit of sugar so it'll be interesting to see if I crave chocolate later on or if it's sugar that I'm addicted to rather than chocolate.

There's about 50 minutes before the earliest my morning carers arrive, so I'm gonna log my mug of tea into FitBit before I forget again, then come up with today's to-do list.  In theory it'll be a relaxing day so please keep your fingers crossed that it's the reality too.

Nite nite orl

I've achieved a lot today and only fallen over a couple of times, so I'm gonna give my body the rest that it's crying out for and I'm heading to bed for a very early night... I think I deserve it!

I'll be back again tomorrow... can someone remind me not to open my email programmes and to set the scan off as soon as I've booted my laptop up please?

Nite nite orl.

Ah sod it...

...I'm having an early night tonight in the hope of getting an early start on the weekly virus scan tomorrow morning - I hope it's less stressful than last week!

I don't...

...*need* chocolate right now and I'm certainly not craving it like I was last week so I'm gonna indulge in a glittery J2O instead 'cos I've achieved sooo much today and I'm proud of myself for staying upright for so much of the day.

Blimey!

The electrician has been and gone and he instantly knew what the problem was, fixed it in literally 30 seconds then explained to me that it was a safety issue that happened with some of the immersion heaters that have the heater on the top.  He reset the safety bit and the immersion instantly started heating up again.

The easiest £75 (standard call-out fee) for about 5 minutes work in the world but sooo worth it if it means that I can have a hot bath again!

I know now that the heater is set to 60℃ but some of the earlier models were set to 100℃ which melted through pipes and all kindsa other stuff, as well as causing significant burns so the safety bit is at 60℃ now, which is fair enough.

I think that calls for a bath tomorrow while my weekly virus scan is running and a warm shower on Saturday so that I can wash the grease out of my hair again.

Today's (6th June 2023) breakfast photo

T'was just my usual breakfast of 2 slices of wholemeal toast, dairy-free spread and an orange juice again this morning.

I got a nasty shock when I weighed myself yesterday in that I put on over 10kg in the 7 days between my weekly weigh-ins, so I'm restarting my daily laps as of today.  I've just done my first of the week and my body and legs are kinda going "what the...?!" but my OCD is happy 'cos my FitBit recorded exactly 25 active minutes so that's a good start to the exercising again.  I'm just gonna take it slow and steady and listen to my body when it tells me to stop.

Here's today's breakfast photo:

Goood morning all

I've woken up in a fairly decent mood, just a lot later than normal and my internet connection is on a go-slow this morning, so I'm already behind with my day but I don't care!

I've taken my morning pills, set the daily virus scan off, been for a wee and a poo 💩 and put the bags down by the front door ready for the groceries.

I've got a delivery due today that I'm really hoping will be small enough to come through the door, rather than me having to answer it.  There's also the potential of yesterday's electrician turning up too, but I don't know for sure.

Basically it's gonna be a very busy day for me!

Gonna attempt to sort out my day's to-do list before my morning carer arrives, but not sure how far I'll get with it 'cos it all depends on how early she is.

Nite nite orl

I've taken my last pills of the day and found some batteries in the process.  I replaced the one in my scales and nervously weighed myself.  I really have put on 14kg in 7 days, so I'm now quite considerably overweight, so I'll be doing my laps every day for the rest of this week... I won't risk more than 15-20 minutes a day though 'cos it's been quite a while since I've done them every day so need to re-build my strength and steadiness back up again.

I'm gonna head off to beddy-byes now though.

Nite nite orl.

Third and final update to today's to-do list

  • Take morning pills
  • Run daily virus scan
  • Put blue sack and waste food caddy outside
  • Have breakfast

I'm thinking...

...that the electrician isn't coming after all today, so I'm gonna indulge in the rest of the treat-sized chocolate bars to reward myself for getting through pretty much the whole day without it.

It was *seriously* tough going this morning...

...but I did it!!!

I haven't even sniffed chocolate or opened the tub or looked longingly at the drinking chocolate tub so far today, so if I can get through to when the electrician has been and gone, I'll be finishing off the last few chocolates in the tub without feeling guilty about it for a change.  I know it may not sound like a lot to be proud of, but it's a huuuuuge step in the right direction for me!

I just had my usual 2 slices of wholemeal toast with dairy-free spread and a bottle of orange juice again this morning.

Here's today's breakfast photo:

There is no way that...

...I've put on 14kg in the last 7 days.  I've just weighed myself and I'm over 54kg now but last Monday weigh day I wasn't quite 40kg!

I've ordered some batteries in case it's that, but I'm not gonna weigh myself until they've turned up and I've put them in.

Even with constantly eating high calorie foods there's no way anyone can put on 2kg a day, every day for a week!

Mornin' all

According to my FitBit I didn't move *at all* from the time I fell asleep to the time I woke up!  Not even a single step!  I'm absolutely shattered so it's gonna be a low activity day today methinks.

My first pills of the week have been popped and the daily virus scan has finished so I can relax for a bit now.

I've got an electrician coming out to hopefully fix the immersion heater this afternoon and I've gotta try and remember to ask them about dialing the temperature down by a few degrees 'cos the temperature it was when I had my 2 hot baths was bordering on dangerous temperature, even for me, but as long as it gets fixed, I can use the plastic jug of cold water to cool it down a bit if necessary.  It might just be because it had been so long since my last hot bath that I just wasn't used to it.

I've gotta remember to weigh myself after I've had my breakfast to see if I've put on the last little bit of weight that I want to.  I also wanna write to my GP surgery to find out once and for all what my healthy weight range is... you watch me forget though lol

I wanna read the last book in the series today, so I hope I remember what I've read in between reading sessions today!

Time is getting away with me so I'm gonna publish this and put up today's to-do list, hopefully before my morning carer gets here.

I've popped my last two pills of the week but I'm hearing a party going on next door so I've poked my head out of both the front and back doors and it's absolute silence out there, but as soon as I come back in I hear a loud party so I'm hoping it's just me hearing things rather than my mental health taking another awful turn.  I've already got too much to deal with, without hearing things being added to it!!

I'm gonna head to bed now and hope that I can sleep it off.

Nite nite orl.

Third and final update to today's to-do list

  • Take morning pills
  • Run daily virus scan
  • Have breakfast - the bread had gone mouldy again, so I halved the loaf and put one half back in the freezer and left the other half to defrost, so hopefully I won't have to miss breakfast tomorrow
  • Put breakfast photo onto this blog and Instagram
  • Get washed and dressed with my carer
  • Refill squash bottle
  • Adjust grocery order
  • Do the news
  • Update my will
  • Contact CAB about making my will legal
  • Have lunch

  • Take lunchtime pill

  • Go to bed

It's gonna be soooo hard but...

...if I can get through tomorrow morning without chocolate and the electrician is able to rapidly work out what the issue is (and hopefully fix it while they are here), I'll reward myself with a few treat-sized bars of chocolate when they've gone.

I'm not allowed chocolate bars, drinking chocolates or even mochas in any way, shape or form until after I've had my lunch to earn that chocolate which is gonna be torture, but I've gotta re-break the addiction all over again.

I'm fed up of...

...being a quiet, shrinking violet who only wants to blend in rather than standing out.

I'm never going to want to be the centre of attention but I'm gonna start wearing clothes that aren't dark any more.  Instead of wearing blacks and greys all the time I'm gonna inject some colour into my wardrobe and not only that, I'm gonna start wearing dresses and skirts, which I haven't done since I left school almost 30 years ago.

I'm gonna totally reinvent myself and find out who I am now.  Out go the dark colours and in come the lighter fabrics and colours and even prints which I've never worn in my life.  Out go the jeans and trousers and in come the dresses and skirts.

I'm a different person now and I need a whole new wardrobe that goes with it!

Kinda right, kinda wrong

I was told (by something in my being) this morning, that my carer would be late and that I wouldn't be able to have breakfast.

The first bit was wrong 'cos she turned up at about 7.20am and left at 7.40am but the breakfast bit was spot on!  I went to make my breakfast and discovered that the bread had gone mouldy, so breakfast this morning was a bottle of orange juice, 4 treat-sized bars of chocolate and a home-made decaff mocha so today's calories are gonna be soooo low after not having the 1080 calories for breakfast lol

Mornin' mornin'

Cor lummy I'm knackered!

How's things in your world?

I've run the daily virus scan, which was still clear, put my phone on to charge and taken my morning pills so far.  I'm being told that my carer is gonna be late today so I won't have time for breakfast before I leave the house today, but that's OK 'cos I've gone well over my 2k daily calorie budget several times this week so having one low calorie day won't do any harm.  Just given myself 4 squirts of B12 to try and wake me up a bit, so hopefully I'll stop yawning soon lol

I need to re-fill my squash bottle at some point today too, otherwise I'll rapidly run out and knowing my luck it'll be in the middle of a bad day of pill-taking and I'll have a stubborn pill in my mouth which I won't be able to swallow dry or put back in the dosette box either, so I'll be in the poo.

I'm gonna sort out today's to-do list now I reckon.

Nite nite orl

I've just taken my last two pills of the day so I'm just waiting for the side effects to kick in now, then I can go to beddy-byes.

Can someone remind me to give my phone and FitBit some juice tomorrow so that they don't run out when I'm out and about please?

I'm not going to put the rubbish or recycling out tomorrow 'cos there is so little of it again.  I'll crack open a black bin bag next week so that I can put 2 weeks' worth of rubbish and these three cushions into it now that the OT has given me permission to do so.

I'm gonna start shutting down for the night now.

Nite nite orl.

Today's (3rd June 2023) lunch photos

I was a big piggie for the second day on the trot but I don't care!  I'm allowed to pig out whenever I want and the two letters I got this morning were a cause for celebration, so I celebrated with having a pud of vegan ice cream after my spaghetti loops!

Here are today's two lunch photos:

That's a huuuuge relief then!

The post has just come through the door and there were 2 bits of good news:

1.  The first of Steve's three huuuuge credit card debts has officially been paid off and the account closed... wooooohooooo!

2.  There was also a letter from the council to say that there would very soon be a new parking scheme in the street where each house is only allowed 2 paid-for parking permits a year and they both have to be registered to an address in the street.  That means two houses will have to find other parking spaces for their other 1/2 cars and the house on the corner won't be able to park here at all lol  Basically that 1 letter has freed up at least 4 parking spaces in the street and my carers will be able to park here for free while they are with me!

Today is a goood day lol

Today's (3rd June 2023) breakfast photo

Today's first meal of the day was just my usual 2 slices of wholemeal toast with dairy-free spread and an orange juice again.

Here's today's breakfast photo:

It seems that...

...I was wrong about my to-do list going up after my carer has left, 'cos I've just managed to put it up after all.  I'm sorry for my mistake.

Mornin' all

How are you all doing this morning?

I'm not doing too bad, thanks for asking.

I've already finished the daily virus scan and taken my morning pills, so I'm all set for the day now.

I had a bitterly cold shower and washed my hair yesterday morning, so I'm not putting it into a ponytail until it gets greasy again.  I've got a band around my wrist ready for putting it into a lose ponytail when I get washed this morning and when I eat both times, but other than that, my hair is staying down for as long as possible.

Talking about my hair - it's changed colour since I last washed it back in January!  It was light to medium brown back then but it's dark brown now!  It'll lighten up again in Summer 'cos it always does, but the colder months shade is definitely darker!

Plan for today is to read at least one, hopefully two more of the series of books I bought yesterday.

I'm not even gonna attempt to put today's to-do list up until my morning carer has been and gone otherwise she'll turn up in the middle of me doing it which'll make me grumpy lol

Blimey!

I ordered some stuff from Amazon on 31st May.

It got split into two orders because one was being shipped by Amazon and the other by an independent company.

The one shipped by Amazon had a guaranteed delivery date of yesterday and that's when it arrived and I said in the delivery instructions to post it through the door if possible, which is exactly what happened.

All good so far.

The independent company was full of surprises though - it was shipped in less than an hour of my order with another independent delivery company and an estimated delivery date of the 3rd to the 6th, which is, again, fair enough.

I'm not gonna be available Sunday or Monday and Tuesday morning is a bit of a tight thing as well, so I sent out a request to Gaia and the Green Man to ask that it was delivered either today or tomorrow.

It's just turned up!

I sent out a thank you to Gaia and the Green Man which Gaia claimed credit for, but they've both been so supportive of me since I found them both a few years ago!

I can now curl up under my blanket until bedtime/my bladder calls in the full knowledge that I don't need to answer the door for anything else.

The Amazon delivery was for my physical health and today's was for my emotional health and my Kindle Unlimited subscription (which was paid for again today) is for my mental health.

Basically, what started out as being a pretty bad day has turned into a pretty good day now.

Thank you Gaia!

Today's (2nd June 2023) two lunch photos

I've been a right little oinker today and should have stopped at the baked beans and vegan sausages but nooooo, I scoffed 2 portions of spinach and pine nut pasta too and I'm verging on bloated now lol  My excuse is that tomorrow was the use by date on them both and I didn't want to waste them so I dug in when I took my empty bowl through to the kitchen lol  I could have polished that off and still been hungry 7 months ago but not any more!

I'll be burping and groaning all afternoon now lol

Here are today's two lunch photos:

It took me...

...longer to get undressed and then dried and dressed than the entire shower took.

I'm clean and my hair is washed now though, so that's OK and I can just curl up under my blanket trying to warm up again for the next hour now.

Mornin' all

How are things in your world this morning?

I'm having a bad day, mentally, so I'll have to make sure that my mask is firmly in place all day.

I've taken my morning pills and been for a poo so far today.  Gonna put my to-do list up then see if there's enough time left after that for my first hot drink of the day.

I wanna have a shower and wash my hair today, so I'm gonna put the emersion heater on as soon as my morning carer has left, then I'll have my breakfast while it's hopefully heating up, then have a shower before my lunchtime carer arrives.  Gotta remember to bring both brushes down with me, as well as my Alice band so that my hair doesn't get into my face while it's drying.

Nite nite orl

I've put my body through a lot this week and it's begging for a break, so that's what I'm giving it now.

It's only about an hour, but that's still worthy... every second counts!

I'll see you all again in the morning.

Nite nite orl.

Ah sod it...

...my body is screaming out for an early night, so I'm gonna take my pills and head straight up to bed, so there will only be two more blog posts after this one so you can breathe a sigh of relief lol

Reminder for tomorrow...

...if my carer gets here before 9am, can someone remind me to turn the emersion on for an hour then have a shower and wash my hair for the first time since January.

I'll need to grab my non-greasy brush and Alice band while I'm upstairs too, so that I can keep my hair out of my face while it's drying naturally and won't have an annoying kink in it where the ponytail goes lol

Yep, it was...

...my lack of strength that had made the plant protein so grainy 'cos I've just used my smoothie machine to juzz it up and it's totally free of graininess now, so I'll try and remember to use my smoothie machine each time I have the protein powder now.  Gonna use 250ml of water instead of 500ml next time though 'cos it's a bit too watery and not chocolatey enough, but I'm almost there now I reckon.

I can...

...cross the laps off tomorrow's to-do list 'cos I've just spent 47 active minutes doing it and I'm totally wiped out now.

I'm gonna make myself the protein drink when it's safe for me to do so and hopefully that'll help me to recover too.

Today's (1st June 2023) lunch photo

Today's lunch of a tin of spaghetti loops was made entirely by my carer again, so this morning's carer *was* wrong about not having a lunchtime carer today.

For some reason I threw up out of my nose after I came back in and sat down, so that was a new, totally gross and unpleasant experience, but it seems to have cleared out my nasal pipes 'cos I can actually breathe without sniffing now!

Here's today's lunch photo:

Today's (1st June 2023) breakfast photo

Just my usual breakfast of 2 slices of wholemeal toast with dairy-free spread and a bottle of orange juice again this morning.

My morning carer said that I wouldn't be getting a lunchtime carer any more 'cos they've all been taken off permanently again... I hope she's wrong!

Mornin' all

A pinch and a punch for the first of the month!

How's things going in your world as we start June?

I've woken up absolutely shattered and snotty, coughing and with itchy, watery eyes so there's already lots of pollen about.

I've taken my morning pills and the daily virus scan was still clear, so that's reassuring.

I know there were a couple of things I had to remember for today but I've totally forgotten what they were.  I'm getting my first of two deliveries today and I've decided to do my laps and have a shower tomorrow 'cos that's the only day when I'm not expecting anyone other than my carers to come to the door.

I'm gonna get my to-do list sored now I reckon.  The virus scan was reassuringly clear and my VPN has been running for the last 27 minutes so that's good too.

Can someone remind me, tomorrow...

...to try juzzing up the vegan protein powder with 250ml of water in my smoothie machine please?

I've tried shaking it with both 250ml as well as 500ml of water and it still hasn't all melted so I'm thinking that I haven't got the strength left to shake it as vigorously as it needs, so I'm gonna try the mechanical way to see what happens.

Can someone also remind me to attempt to cut up a lemon so that I can have a hot honey and lemon drink after my breakfast to see if it tackles hayfever like it does with colds pretty please?

I need...

...a real life hug.

Today's (31st May 2023) lunch photo

Just had another simple lunch of a tin (ie 2 servings/portions) of baked beans and a glass of water again.  It's spaghetti loops for a change tomorrow then thankfully the last tin of beans and vegan sausages on Friday... I really don't enjoy the taste of meat any more, even though they are me-friendly - it's the same with dairy too.  My taste-buds have got used to not tasting dead animals so even the meat substitutes taste gross to me now.

I accidentally had a dairy ice cream (that said on the website is was dairy-free) at the end of last week and I knew as soon as I pulled the lid off that it wasn't me-friendly so that was a very expensive waste that I can't afford to have any more.

Mornin' all

How are you all doing this morning?

Me?

I'm OK I guess, very snotty so it's gonna be a bad hayfever day for me today, I can already tell.

I've taken my morning pills and remembered not to open my email programmes so far, so that cool and groovy.  I've refilled my bottle of squash that had been empty for a couple of days and it's too late to risk making myself an early breakfast 'cos I can guarantee that I'd take a bite and the bell would go lol

I haven't got anything in my calendar for today so I'm gonna totally veg out and hopefully start to recover from the first two days off this week, especially yesterday.

I think I'm gonna have my second caffeinated drink of the week after I've had my breakfast this morning, to try and wake me up a bit.  I've given myself a couple of squirts of B12 too, to try and give me an energy boost.  I need to order some more of it though 'cos I'm rapidly running out.  It's lasted me for 3 months though, so that's OK.

This post is already waaaay too long, so I'm gonna publish it and wait for my carer then put up my to-do list and order the chocolate when she's gone.

Nite nite orl

Aaaaand relax lol

I got through today without too much pain or exhaustion, but I'm definitely gonna have an early night now after the bedlum throughout today.

I'll be back, like always, in the morning and I haven't got anything booked in for the whole day (other than the weekly virus scan), so I don't intend to move far from the sofa tomorrow otherwise I'll go base over apex on Sunday and won't be able to get up, which would be at best embarrassing at worst, dangerous.  I'm not gonna take any more risks between tomorrow and Saturday so I'm gonna head straight off to bed for a well-deserved early night now I reckon.

Nite nite orl.
