Technology/nite nite orl

I've been trying to do the backups since 9.05am, I've rebooted 3 times and restarted them 9 times today, so I'm gonna shut as much as I can down so that there's more memory for them to use and potentially leave it running all night (if it still hasn't finished by bedtime) which I'm not happy about but there's nothing I can do about it.


I can still read and reply to very very short emails on my phone and if it's urgent then just text me, but if you don't hear from me before tomorrow, I'll be fine, just not able to use any of my programmes until my backups have finally finished.


I'll hopefully see you all in the morning, same as normal, but for now it's a very early nite nite orl.


I need...

I've had all kinds of issues with my weekly backups since 9.07am and I'm giving them one last chance to work before I give up entirely.


Today's lunch was my first mug of instant soup, made by me and brought in by my fantastic carer.  It was my first mug of instant (vegetable) Cup Soup since the end of March and my belly is having a difficult job adjusting 'cos I've been "parping like a good'un" as my late hubby would say if he was still alive... I'd be making him proud of my "bottom burps" for the last 2½ hours!  lol

Today's (17th July 2024) breakfast photo

I timed my breakfast just right so that I could do my laps in half an hour and be able to claim 2 active hours on my FitBit "Active Hours" this morning so as a result, this post and photo are a bit later than they should be.


Breakfast this morning was my usual choccie Weetabix with plant protein soya milk and the last bottle of substituted orange juice from last week.  It was substituted again yesterday so I've gotta fill the bottles that I saved later on so that I get 250ml of orange juice each morning instead of a 500ml glassful lol

Mornin' all

Well, I've found the new sweet spot for sleep recording on my FitBit... it needs to be over 70% charged when I go to bed 'cos if it's in the high 60's then it won't record my sleep.


I've put both phones and my FitBit on to charge until about 6am when I'll take the video and wait for my first carer of the day.


I've popped my morning pills with my morning glass of water while I was waiting for my weekly virus scan to kick into action and I'll have to remember to refill the bottle with squash after lunch (when I'll drain it with my lunchtime pill) so that I can be ready for tonight.


Time to publish this and put up today's to-do list now methinks.

Tomorrow, I've gotta remember...

  • Not to open my email programmes because...
  • it's Wednesday so it's the weekly virus scan so...
  • putting my laptop on the floor for breakfast isn't a problem and...
  • there's no need to get anxious about having enough time for the backups this week because...
  • lunch will be a mug of instant soup that I've gotta...
  • take a photo of in the kitchen then...
  • bring it into the living room to drink.
  • If I get hungry in the afternoon then there are chocolate milkshakes in the fridge and...
  • if I can wait for half an hour, I can have fruit loaf too.
  • Most of all, don't stress out!!!
It'll take a few days for my body to get used to the new lunches again before I start having toast for breakfast too, I've just gotta be patient and go easy on myself if my body starts complaining.

I won't need to put my laptop on the floor other than for my breakfasts, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem 'cos my carer will have gone by then and the weekly virus scan will still be chugging away so my external hard drive will still be in its home so I just need to listen to my body and give it whatever it tells me it needs.

I've also gotta remember to charge up my phones and FitBit between carer visits too as well as doing my laps.  It's gonna be all go tomorrow, but I'll be fine as long as I take it one small step at a time and don't get stressed out about anything - I'll lean on Gaia and ask Her for reassurance and support if things start going haywire, but timing isn't so important tomorrow, I've just gotta remember the virus scan and backups mean the lunch photo will be in the kitchen until I'm back to having solid lunches again.

It's official...

...tomorrow lunchtime I'm back on the instant soups for lunch.

My groceries have just been and gone, I've put it all away and disposed of the bread in the last two food waste bags so I've got a mocktail on the go now and I'm not planning on leaving the sofa much (bladder permitting) until bedtime now.


I'm swollen, wobbly and achey, but that's it now for the rest of the day, thankfully.

Today's (16th July 2024) lunch photos

Today's lunch came in two parts, both made by me, while my carer sat at the bottom of the stairs using her phone for the first part then signed out and disappeared just as I took the plate through to wash up.  The second part was easy enough 'cos it was just two packets (6 servings) of crunchy broad beans (sweet paprika flavour) because my calorie count for the day was so low after only having the last 3 slices of a small fruit loaf and approx 10g of dairy-free spread for the first part all washed down with a 500ml glass of water.

Well, the results of...

...the three mint tea were positive - I think there was maybe a slight hint of peppermint in it 'cos it's woken me up and given me energy and improved my mood but I haven't turned hyperactive yet so maybe I've found a way to enjoy peppermint without bouncing off walls now?


I don't think I'll risk peppermint on it's own, but whatever the 3 mints were haven't affected me anywhere near as badly as I was dreading, so it's maybe a caffeine-free way to give me a kick when I need it?

A couple of hours late with this because I had internetty issues then did my laps while my laptop was rebooting and here we are!


T'was Weetabix with chocolate (to give it the proper title again), plant protein soya milk and an orange juice again today and then I had a cheeky, me-friendly, creamy hot chocolate while I was waiting for my internet connection to sort itself out before I resorted to the reboot.

Gooooood morning everyone!


I've woken up in a good mood but noticed that my throat was fine in the bedroom but it's soooo dry now so I dunno what's going on with that!


I've popped my morning pills with my morning glass of water and I've just started the daily virus scan off again, so I'm hoping that'll still be clear.


Time to put today's to-do list together then put in my next grocery order and bring the bags for life in here just in case it's another stupidly early delivery again.  


Gotta remember to take the fruit bread out of the freezer after I've had my breakfast so that I can have lunch today.

Nite nite orl

It's been a looong day today, but I've managed to cross off most of my to-do list, so I can go to bed feeling positive.


I've got someone coming for the non-me-friendly raisins and non-me-friendly toothpaste "before 6pm" on Friday and some vegan chocolate raisins coming at some point between Wednesday and Thursday so I'll be able to chomp down on those safely.


Gotta remember to put in my next grocery order tomorrow and to put the bags down in front of the door after I've had my lunch and done my laps... you watch me forget to take the bread out in time though!  lol

I gobbled down 2½ servings of a vegan family roast, 1½ small roast potatoes cooked in vegetable oil, broccolini and runner beans which has got me nice and full and ready for another week of barely eating anything, especially when I'll just be having the instant soups for lunch!

A second positive on the trot!

I've just refilled my dosette box with another week's worth of pills and managed to cut up my magic pill with only a minor injury this week, so I think that calls for another hot choccie while I wait for the Freegler!


I could get used to all these positives, but I know that as soon as I risk it, things will come crashing down around my ears again.

For my final lunch made here, I finished off the 400g of seedless red grapes and the two apples with a 500ml glass of water, but I still needed to bump my calories up, so I had 2 blueberry and 2 cherry soya yoghurts too (so 11 portions of fruit in one meal) and I'm well stuffed now! lol

Gooood morning all

I've woken up in a decent mood but my memory is shot and my head is full of cotton wool again.  My physical stability isn't too bad so far, thankfully, only a couple of wobbles while I was taking this morning's video, so that's OK.


I've popped my morning pills and they weren't too bad to get down this morning, so I reckon today is gonna be an OK day as long as my carers actually help me today.


The daily virus scan has just finished and my machine is still free of nasties lurking around every corner, so that's a relief.


This blog post is getting a bit long so I'm gonna publish it and try to get my day's to-do list up before my carer arrives - will she be an early or late carer today?  Will she even turn up at all?
