Today's (31st January 2025) breakfast photo

I remembered to put less plant protein soya milk on my choccie Weetabix this morning and it was the best yet... it was still a bit crunchy in a couple of places, but it wasn't anywhere near as mushy as it usually is after I've taken the photo and emailed it to myself!  I used up the last of the carton of Tropical juice this morning too.

Goooood morning all!

I've woken up in a reasonable mood today so I'm gonna make the most of it and try and put the finishing touches to the first re-write of my JanNo book.


I've taken my blood pressure (which was slightly raised), popped my morning pills, had my breakfast and now I'm charging up one of my phones and my FitBit while I wait for my first carer of the day.


Time to get today's to-do list together while my virus scan is checking my laptop, then I'll put today's breakfast photo up after I've resized it.

Yeeeesss!!!

I've just been able to work out how to do the transcription... all thanks to C again!  I've got 3 pages to do and C's said he'll do the last 3 then that's done and dusted and I can finish off with the first re-write at long last!


C said that I'll only be able to do 1-2 a day, which is fair enough, I'll try and do two tomorrow and the other one on Saturday after my bath, then I can relax until Wednesday with the central heating, then I'll go head-on into re-write number 2 when I'll hopefully have all the information I need and I'll be able to go into it with a clear head again because I've had a break to forget it... it's all starting to come together now and I'm feeling right royal proud of myself.

...today was supposed to be a day off for me, it hasn't been lol


I've just moved the boxes out of the spare room into the main bedroom ready for Wednesday's inspection of my central heating which will, apparently, only involve a 15 minute check of everything including the air source heat pump outside then that's it for another year.


I'm hoping that my brother will be over to pick up the heirlooms soon too, then that's another thing I can tick off my to-do list and I'll be able to get to the rest of the stuff to either give to Steve's family or put onto Freegle.


I feel like I've achieved a lot this week, so I've treated myself to a celebratory mocktail and I'm gonna chill out until bedtime now.

Today (30th January 2025) I'm grateful for...

...C's unwavering support and patience with me for NaNo this year, for his understanding and notes during the research stage during pretty much the entirity of 2024 and his never-ending encouragement during JanNo.


He has been the one and only person who has been able to even start to decipher some of the notes in my hospital records and he's encouraged and supported constantly.  He's known when to leave me alone and when to stick a rocket up my arse.  He's encouraged and supported me as I wrote and edited for JanNo and I hope I haven't been too much of a PITA about it.


I've been a right cowbag during our friendship, but he's never left my side or jumped down my throat like so many others.


C's my best friend and I'm immensely thankful for his friendship and constant support over the last 26-ish years.

Today's (30th January 2025) lunch photo

Today's lunch was a bit different to normal because the vegetarian Sweet Chilli Bites were in stock on Tuesday afternoon and I finished off the Garlic and Herb Bites yesterday, so it's gonna be my tastebuds waking up each day until Saturday now!  I stopped the chilli tingle with a 500ml glass of water and I've got a decaff coffee on the go now too.

Mornin' all

I woke up at 3.40am and my watch said 4.40am so I sprang out of bed and got ready then came downstairs in as much of a hurry as I could before it dawned on me that my watch is an hour fast lol


It's now 5.17am and I've got over an hour before my first carer of the day could arrive, but I've already taken my blood pressure, popped my morning pills, had my breakfast and run the daily virus scan (which was still clear), so I'm free for the next hour now lol


Think I'll put my breakfast photo up then do the admin with my blood pressure photos then just breathe for a while lol

I've...

...not only caught up with the housework, but I've finished it for this week too and we're only at Wednesday!


Monday and especially yesterday were major housework days when I achieved sooo much, so today I was just left with doing the bathroom (which is my usual Wednesday task) which motivated me to vacuum the carpets, then I cleaned the kitchen and mopped the floor.  


I've done everything except taking the rubbish and recycling out but that was collected on Monday so doesn't need to go out on Sunday so I can finally breathe and feel proud of myself until Monday now.


Tomorrow and Friday will be reading days so that I can tick another thing off my to-do list and relax again.

Today (29th January 2025) I'm grateful for...

...having a relatively calm and quiet day today.  The last little while has felt like it's been non-stop, so I needed the breather I've had today.

Mornin' all

Well, I started off the day in the usual way - by taking my blood pressure, then my 9 morning pills, then having my breakfast, then staring off the weekly virus scan.  I'm also giving my FitBit some juice and I've got a cold & flu drink on the go too.


Compared to the start of the week, this will hopefully be a reasonably quiet day today!

Before I forget, I've gotta remember to request more bladder pills and email the central heating bods to find out if they will just be using the controls or if they will need to assess the radiators too so that I know if I need to move the boxes off the bedroom floor or not.  I also need to remember that it's the weekly scan and backups tomorrow too but then I can just sit back and relax.


I've popped my last two pills of the day with the last of the squash so need to refill that and charge up my FitBit tomorrow too!


I'm heading on up to beddy-byes now though.

I had the penultimate container of vegetarian Garlic & Herb Bites and my carer filled my glass with cream soda for me today, so I'll be producing smelly burps just in time for my groceries and delivery to turn up lol

...achieved so much in the last 1.5 hours and I'm well chuffed with myself.


I've done my laps, taken 2 of the 3 big boxes out of the living room and upstairs, sorted out a good chunk of the empty boxes in the kitchen and taken them upstairs too... I'm sweating like a pig in Summer, but I'm proud of myself for managing it without falling downstairs.  There's more to do, but not for a while yet... I need to stop wobbling, shaking and sweating first!

Mornin' all

Well, this morning has been stressful so far, but I've managed to take my blood pressure, start the monthly scan, pop my morning pills and have my breakfast, so that's OK.


Gonna put today's to-do list together then make myself a mug of coffee while I wait for my morning carer.  Not sure when I'll be able to put up the photo of my breakfast or put my BP readings into the spreadsheet but that's OK.


As well as my carers and monthly virus scan, I've also got the last delivery and groceries coming today too and I've gotta put my next grocery order in when the slots become available, so it's all go for me today!

Mornin' all

Well, that was a surprise I didn't need this morning!


I took my blood pressure, then my morning pills and everything was going fine and normal, so I booted up my laptop and it was slower than normal, so I started getting worried.  It got to what should have been the log in screen and it said that there had been an issue loading the user interface so it was logging out.  


The alarm bells started clanging loudly.  


A good 5 minutes later it got back to the usual log in screen and I logged in which took another 5 minutes and there was nothing on my desktop - it looked like a completely new install of Windows!


I rebooted and made myself a calming drinking choccie and everything was fine when I logged in this time, so I think it must have been Loki clearing His throat to tell me He wants more attention lol  I'm definitely virus free 'cos the daily scan was still clear, which was my first thought when I got properly back into my machine.


I've already weighed myself and I can do one set of laps every day this week, thankfully.


I'm sure my blood pressure is through the roof now, but I'm hoping I'll just be able to get on with my day now.


I've got 2 deliveries due today and 1 tomorrow so I hope that I'm not naked when they arrive lol  Gotta remember to bring my rubbish and recycling containers in when they have been emptied too.


Time to get today's to-do list together and drain my drink before my first carer of the week arrives.

Mornin' all

I've been up for almost an hour and a half so far this morning but it feels like I haven't slept.


I've taken my blood pressure, popped my morning pills, run the virus scan, remembered to check that the rubbish and recycling are still in place and made myself a (non-creamy) drinking chocolate.


I've got just under an hour before my last carer of the week turns up, so I'm gonna get today's to-do list put together now methinks.

Tomorrow (Sunday) I've gotta remember...

...that I've already put the rubbish and recycling outside and replaced the bag in the living room for a rare change.  I've got a feeling that tomorrow will be a day of forgetfulness so I'm not taking any chances 'cos both the rubbish and recycling need to be emptied this week.


I've emailed my SIL about some things I'd like her to help me with tomorrow and texted her so that she knows it's waiting for her when she finishes work but my body is telling me not to take any chances with things I need to remember tomorrow so all I need to remember now is to put my key on as soon as my carer has gone tomorrow and to take my bum bag with me as well as the bag with the boxes, drink and letter in it.
