First update to today's to-do list
Today's (16th May 2026) breakfast photo
I'm a couple of hours late getting this photo up, but I was in the bath for about an hour and there didn't seem much point doing it before I got in, just in case I forgot to have my weekly bath after all.
Today's breakfast was a healthy 500ml glass of water to take my morning pills with and the last 3 bananas in the bunch, before they got any spottier.

I wore my Visible during the bath and it doesn't seem to be broken yet, which is reassuring - it's used up 9 pace points though, so I've gotta take things really easy until everything is back to where it should be. I won't be lapping and exercising this morning and possibly not this afternoon either - it'll be interesting to see what my pace points are like at bedtime!
This could be a very expensive mistake to make but...
I'm gonna wear my 4 day old Visible in the bath to see if it truly is waterproof! 😟

...my second and last dose of paracetamol of the day and I'm hoping it'll kick in soon.

I've had a bit of an unhealthy day today because I've snacked on Pringles this morning and haven't eaten anything "proper" all day! I really must do better tomorrow!
Today's liquid lunch was a 550ml mug of a me-friendly and home-made creamy decaff mocha.

I think I've worked out...
...why my shoulder, neck and arm have been sore and stiff yesterday and today - shaking the squirty cream can up on Wednesday!
I hadn't had cream in just over a month so my arm was out of practice and out of shape!
Nothing serious at all, I was just hadn't had cream and my arm and shoulder were out of shape and my neck joined in the party too because of the muscle that connects your shoulder to your neck! It's a good job that I kept the spreadsheet of the hot choccie doses that I have 'cos that's the only way I found out! It's like a sprinter training for a big competition, then allowing themselves to slip out of training and expecting to be pain-free for the race!
It's reassuring that it's nothing serious, I'll just have to have cream more often to get it back into shape lol

My neck and shoulder are still killing me, so I decided against having anything solid for breakfast in case I dropped it, so my breakfast today was just my usual 500ml glass of water to take my morning pills with and I've got a second glass on the go now too, to keep me hydrated.

Mornin' all
Well, it feels like I've barely slept because of the pain and my phone ran out of battery power overnight so it's getting some emergency juice. I've got a Visible score of 1 out of 5 today, so won't be lapping or exercising and I've popped a paracetamol this morning, then set a reminder on Alexa to take another one in 5 hours time.
I've popped my morning pills (including the paracetamol), run the virus scan (which found an advanced issue) and had 2 bananas for breakfast along with a second glass of water. I can't remember what I use the big knife for when I make my salads, but I'm gonna take things gently today.
I've decided against tidying the bedrooms and getting washed and changed until the pain has stopped, however long that takes.
Time to get today's breakfast photo up, then my day's to-do list then read another book methinks. I'm pondering on phoning the pharmacy to see if they've got any other ideas about how to stop the pain, but I hate using the phone and I can't get down there if they suggest a treatment, so is it really worth it in the end?

The entire upper left quarter of my body has been stiff and sore all day, so I haven't been able to do much today so just read my way through a really useful book. I'm hoping to do a bit more sorting out in the spare room tomorrow if the pain and stiffness has stopped and/or putting my new file together with the pockets so that I can put the OddBox recipes into it to keep them all safe and in one place.
I also wanna get washed and changed, hopefully without breaking my new Visible as long as my body has stopped being so stiff and sore in the morning.
I've popped my last two pills of the day and I'm gonna head on up to beddy-byes now.

Today (14th May 2026) I'm grateful for...
...crawling through the day despite the constant agony in my neck, shoulder and upper arm today.
I'm also grateful that the first book I found and borrowed about my Alexa gave me so many things that I can say to her now.
I also found out this morning that my Visible is waterproof, so I'll be able, pain permitting of course, to get washed and changed tomorrow morning.
And finally, I'm grateful that the kitchen stuff was picked up at last, so I've got more room to do more tidying up in the spare room as soon as my pain and stiffness is better.

Today's (14th May 2026) lunch photo
Today's lunch was uber healthy and 6 or 7 (depending on how many sticks of celery is 1 of your 5 a day) portions of fruit and veg in one meal! Today's lunch was the same as yesterday's: 80g of fresh spinach, 2 pickled eggs, 4 cherry tomatoes, 1 vegan cheese wheel, 3 bits of cucumber, 2 sticks of celery, approx 15g of Vegan Mayo, all washed down with a 330ml can of a Sparkling Mango pop.

Today's (14th May 2026) breakfast photos
I was back to the double breakfast again this morning, but I accidentally put the Plant Protein soya milk onto the choccie Weetabix before I filled the bottle with juice, so it was just the solid for breakfast this morning.

Gooood morning all!
I've woken up stiff as a board and my left shoulder and neck are killing me, but the Visible overnight reading worked and gave me a score of 3 out of 5 again, so I'll be able to do my laps, sit-ups, crunches and twists again today. I've also discovered that my Visible band is waterproof, so I'll be able to wear it when I get washed and have my weekly bath, which is reassuring.
I've taken my blood pressure which was lower than my usual at only 98, taken my 10 morning pills and had my breakfast without the juice this morning 'cos I accidentally put the milk on before filling up the bottle.
Gonna spend today with my nose in a book, so don't worry if I'm quieter than usual.
The daily virus scan was reassuringly clear, so it's time to get today's breakfast photos up then today's to-do list.

Today's (13th May 2026) lunch photo
For today's lunch, I couldn't really have been healthier! It was a salad of a handful of baby spinach, 2 pickled eggs, 4 cherry tomatoes, 2 sticks of celery, 80g of cucumber, plant-based cheese and approximately 20g of a Vegan Mayo, all washed down with a 330ml can of a Sparkling Mango pop.

Have I found...
...a combination of trackers and apps that work for me and my health and let me track and pace rather than track and push??
I've just added the Nutracheck app to my personal phone and that seems to track the calories and exercise that I want without the steps. Hopefully between that counting my calories and exercises without the steps and constant pushing and the Visible tracking my health and encouraging me to pace, I might have found the combination that works for me!
It's gonna take a while to add all my meals in, but I've got both sets of breakfasts (without the juices) for both warm weather (the choccie Weetabix) and cool weather (the toast) as well as 3 drinks (caff and decaff coffee and the drinking chocolate - I've just gotta add sugar and cream as appropriate), I've potentially found a good starting point to work from. It's just a smidgen under £40 a year for membership, but it could, potentially easily pay for itself within weeks!
Yes, it was good to keep it all together in FitBit, but it really wasn't working for me and it feels like maybe Gaia has had a hand in me finishing with it and finding the Visible and Nutracheck apps in its place.
It's gonna take a while to get everything added in for lunches especially as they are so varied, but so far so good!

There's only one breakfast photo today because I completely forgot to take my 9 morning pills until just now, so there's no photo of the water today.
My only breakfast was a bit different to my usual - still the choccie Weetabix and Plant Protein soya milk but with cherry juice this morning and it went down a treat!
