Sainsbury's and Steve

We usually get our groceries delivered on a Monday early evening from Sainsbury's.

The driver that was due to deliver yesterday called in sick and the replacement never turned up so we didn't get our shopping delivered yesterday.  Steve phoned them and they sent me a £10 voucher within minutes and guaranteed that they would deliver today.

I've just had the driver on the phone just to check that it was still OK to deliver today and he was full of apologies.

ASDA were terrible about deliveries and never once apologised for turning up way too early or way too late.  Steve was on the phone to them most weeks about it and they never once apologised let alone offer a goodwill gesture and they rarely packed the stuff in bags either, even though we asked and paid for them.

I'm liking Sainsbury's more and more every week... our shopping is always in bags, they turn up in the slot, apologise when things go wrong, provide goodwill gestures, apologise unreservedly for their mistakes, phone to ensure that the delivery slot is still good the next day... they are so much better!

The reason that I put Steve's name in the title, is because he's got a telephone interview for a job tomorrow afternoon which has made him smile again, after hearing about not getting the job yesterday morning.  Also, Steve's usual carer, Jess, has given birth to a little boy and Steve got a FB message last night with a photo of him... almost as cute as H was when he was a newborn!

It's not even lunchtime yet either!  lol
