Nite nite orl

I've had a busy day and I'm wiped out after hurriedly sorting out my undies ready for the morning, 5 minutes before pill-time so I've taken my pills 25 minutes late and I'm heading off to beddy-byes now.

I'll see you all in the morning.

Today (30th September 2025) I'm grateful for...

...not breaking my glasses when I pulled my top over my head without taking them off first.  It could have been a very expensive mistake to make!

I'm also grateful for getting my clothes washed, dried and hung up ready for Thursday and if I time it right, for my flu jab on the 9th too.

I'm grateful that the mince pies were in stock 'cos that's my lunches sorted for the next week and they are wonderfully high calorie so I don't need to worry about finding other things to take me over budget during the day too.

Today's (30th September 2025) lunch photo

For my only meal today (and last meal of September) I was treated to my carer making my lunch of a mug of Minestrone Cup Soup and I've got a decaff cuppa on the go now too in my new huge mug.

Here's today's lunch photo:

Mornin' all

I've woken up (obviously), taken my Visible reading, popped my morning pills, had to change my password due to "suspicious activity" on my account and now I'm running the virus scan.

There were two things I was supposed to remember to do this morning but I can only remember that I need to find out the volume of my new mug - the other thing is completely lost forever so I hope I wrote it down somewhere yesterday!

Time to get today's to-do list together now methinks.

Today (29th September 2025) I'm grateful for...

...getting through the day in one piece.

I've now got 19 days' worth of juices, a big mug to try and increase my liquid intake again (just gotta measure how much each mug contains in mls, but I'll do that tomorrow) and a replacement watch which I'll set up tomorrow.  I've also got both jabs booked and my groceries sorted for tomorrow.  Someone on Olio is also interested in the soya milks, so that's good news too.

What could have been an awful day has actually been pretty productive and positive, which I'm grateful for.

I'm relieved that...

...there aren't any more official NaNos 'cos I've been using them to take my mind off the side effects of the annual booster vaccinations which have all been in November up to now, but this year both are gonna be at the start of October so I'm gonna bump up the writing by a month and aim to write my 50k words for my MH memoir in October this year then edit it for JanNo, same as I did with my first memoir and hopefully get it on the shelves before Summer 2026 again.

I haven't asked him yet, but I'm really hoping that my best friend will help me to knock this one into shape too, because I was more open about my MH with him.

Hold on and I'll ask him now before I forget again...

OK, I've asked him and my own personal NaNo25 officially starts on 1st October so only a couple of days to go <gulp>

Today's lunch was a mug of instant Minestrone Cup Soup and it was the last sachet in the box so I'll start a new box of sachets tomorrow and hopefully have boxes of mince pies to bump my calorie count through the roof with tomorrow's groceries and it'll be the same throughout the festive season.

Review of "Vegan Gainz 4kg tub"

⭐ out of 5

This is NOT vegan and potentially has one of my food allergens in it so it's a total waste of money for me.

Mornin' all

I've woken up (obviously lol), taken my Visible reading, taken my blood pressure, popped my morning pills, had my breakfast and weighed myself.  I've decided to only do the laps when I'm at least a kilo heavier than I was before but not if I'm below the new number.  My weight this week has just sneaked into the once a day laps and sit-ups, but only by 150g but I'm there now so I can restart them.

Gotta remember to bring the rubbish and recycling containers in when they've been emptied today.

The daily virus scan was still reassuringly clear, so that's a relief.

I was wrong yesterday, it's 29 years not 30 years today that I lost my first twin.

Gotta bring in the deliveries too.

Time to get today's first to-do list together now I reckon.

Nite nite orl

I've popped my last two pills of the week, put in my next repeat prescription, done the monthly check-in on Visible and I'm seriously starting to struggle now, so I'm gonna head on up to beddy-byes now.

I'm expecting a couple of deliveries tomorrow so it could, potentially be a long day, especially as I've gotta bring my rubbish and recycling containers in too.

I'll see you all in the morning.

Nite nite orl

Book Review: "Unlikely Story" by Ali Rosen

Kindle Unlimited Audiobook Paperback

⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5 stars

Each book I read and review starts off with the full load of 5 stars and this book is no different.  I always hope that each book finishes with all five stars still firmly in place, but I remove stars if necessary after giving my reasons for doing so within the review - they don't just vanish.

I've got a fully clear day ahead of me today so we'll see how much I manage to get read in the next 12 hours.

Let's get going with the reading and reviewing shall we?

Noooo!  At only 3% the first star is already wobbly for Trademark Infringement (or whatever it's called)!

I've just finished chapter 2 and my carer could turn up at any time so I'm not gonna read any more until she's gone, but so far so good.

Up to chapter 5 now and I'm getting confused as to where this book is supposed to be set - the UK or the USA - there are some things that make me sure it's the UK then the author suddenly drops in something that is only found in America!  If it doesn't become clear soon then the first star is coming off unfortunately.

Now I'm confused about the size of the dog, George, now too!  I swear that I'd read early on in the book that he was a large dog, but now he's a small dog... which one is it??  The first star is coming off at 4% because of the use of a Trademark potentially without permission again on top of the confusion surrounding the dog and still not knowing whether the book is set in America or the UK.

At 17% there's talk about a TV programme and a website, but I'm not sure where the legalities stand with those and I've already taken off a star for Trademark Infringement so the star is safe for now, just a bit wobbly again.

Up to chapter 14 at 43% now and it's definitely lunchtime lol

I'm at 75% now and I *really* wasn't expecting what's happened!

93% now and I'm really hoping I'll manage to get the book finished before I head to bed tonight otherwise I won't be able to sleep!  lol

What a great ending to a fantastic book and there's hopefully just about enough time to get this review up before I head to bed.  It's another 'shoulda been five stars' book, but if you can overlook the trademark infringements then this is a near-perfect book to stick your nose into for 12 hours.

I'm not...

...looking forward to the next week.

Why?

Because tomorrow is 30 years since I lost my first twin then exactly a week later, almost to the hour, is the 30th anniversary of when I lost my second and last chance to be a mum.

My twin's should have been celebrating their 29th birthday on 7th April and I should have been pulling out all the stops for them to have a big party with their step-dad, but I haven't got any of them in my life now and I'll be alone until I join them in Summerland.

Mornin' all

I've remembered to start off the monthly virus scan this morning, as well as taking my blood pressure (which was slightly raised) and popping my pills, so I'm good to go for the day now.

I'm not gonna have any breakfast this morning, just my lunch of the last 4 packets of fruit before putting out the rubbish and recycling then I'll pop my last supplement of the week and refill my dosette box.

Time to get today's to-do list together now methinks.

Nite nite orl

I've gotta remember 3 things tomorrow that I can't really afford to forget:

  1. Take rubbish and recycling outside
  2. Monthly virus scan
  3. Refill dosette box
I've finished off the Barista milk and it went down a treat.  I've got plenty of drinks and snacks tomorrow and I'm gonna finish off the last four apple and grapes packs so that I can start a the new week with the weight gain powder that was one of the deliveries that came today.

I've also gotta charge up my Inspire too, but that can be done while I'm reading the book tomorrow.

For tonight though, it's beddy-byes time.

I'll see you all tomorrow.

Nite nite orl

Does anyone know a couple of things please...

...first off, what are those lamps called that go on the floor, there's a big thing that leads up to the light and you pull/switch it on and off please?  Standard lamps?  Floor lights?  Something totally different?

Secondly, I came out of hospital in 2004 with a huge belly on me after being diagnosed and fed until I was bursting at the seams so that the Neurology bods could see that I didn't have an eating disorder.  Most of the belly has gone now, but I'm still seeing more fat than I want, but the HCA on Thursday said that I was "wasting away" so I'm gonna use the festive season to pig out on mince pies and I've got a weight gain powder to try for my lunches to try and get a bit more weight on me, but how do I teach myself to not see so much flab around my belly please?  I'm only one clothes size away from being the ideal, but my head is still seeing a fat belly and I don't know how to reprogramme it to see that it's not a huge roll of fat any more.

Time to take my pills and head to bed now I reckon.

Well, that's...

...the drinks sorted for a while!  I've got weight gain powder to have for my lunches and I'll be able to have mince pies for an early tea every evening as soon as they are reliably in stock at the supermarket.  The mince pies became available overnight so I've got 6 boxes on each order to see me through each week and they are high calorie so hopefully those and the weight gain powder made with soya milk instead of water will shoot my weight through the roof.

I won't be doing any more laps or sit-ups for a while so that I don't lose weight that I can't afford to lose now and I've gotta try and reprogramme my head to not see the belly on me that I've been told by a medical professional isn't there.

Time to celebrate with an oat Barista hot choccie now methinks, then start reading and reviewing a book that I'm hoping I'll finish reading and reviewing tomorrow.

Mornin' all

Today could, potentially, be a long day 'cos I've got 3 deliveries due and none of them are out for delivery yet.

I'm not seeing my in-laws tomorrow 'cos of the monthly virus scan, so I'm not gonna have my weekly bath or even get washed today.

I've popped my 9 morning pills and run the daily virus scan (which was still clear) so I'm gonna put today's to-do list together then have my breakfast and possibly start reading my next book.

Nite nite orl

I'm absolutely wiped out after today's medical appointment so I've charged up my Visible, popped my last two pills and I'm heading off to beddy-byes now.

I've got 3 deliveries due tomorrow and one on Monday and I'm not seeing my in-laws on Sunday 'cos of the monthly virus scan, so there will be endless mugs of creamy hot chocolates to try and get my calorie count up while I'm waiting for Monday's delivery of a vegan weight gain powder.

I'll see you all in the morning.

Nite nite orl

Today's (26th September 2025) lunch photo

Today's lunch was the same as yesterday's: 2 x 80g packs of apple & grapes and a 500ml glass of water.

Here's today's lunch photo:

Just got back from my medical appointment and...

...apparently I'm "wasting away" and lost even more weight so need to eat a small, third meal for an early tea at about 4pm.

My blood pressure was "almost perfect" and I've got my flu jab booked in and I've got the number to call for my Covid jab, but I'll be buying the weight gain powder to have for my lunches while my carers sit and relax, so they'll be happy with that.

I was honest about having just the soups or fruit for lunch and I don't think she believed me and wants me to have a "proper meal" of pasta or whatever for lunch, which my carers won't do (I've only had 2 "proper meals" of pasta since I've been getting the carers and they left before the water had boiled for the pasta) so I'm gonna invest in a bag of weight gaining powder that I can make for my lunches instead then eat fruit through the afternoon when my carer has gone.

It went better than I was expecting and it was pretty similar to the mid-life thing I had a few years ago so maybe it's just got a different name now?
