Nite nite orl

I'm heading to bed feeling over the moon with relief and excitement and quite frankly joy tonight!


My hair is officially the colour that I want it to be and if it gets even brighter overnight then that's totally fine with me!


I've popped my last two pills of the day but dunno if I'll be able to sleep tonight lol

Today I'm grateful for...

...my buzz cut and amazingly pink hair!  It's the most perfect shade of nuttiness that I was hoping for!


Will it get any pinker overnight I wonder??


Amazing!!!!

I've just been for a wee and seen my hair in the bathroom mirrors - it's very brightly pink now which is exactly what I was hoping for and what the picture showed for light coloured/blonde hair instead of having to catch it at just the right angle to see even the merest hint of colour like it was at lunchtime.


I'm loving my new look even more now and I can't wait to see the reaction of my carers when they see it for the first time lol


My body is, officially...

...weird.


Why?


Because I'm hotter in the shade with a buzz cut this afternoon than I was with a full head of long hair in the full sun this morning!  I'm sweating now and I've never sweated with long hair - in fact I was usually cold!!


My hair, officially...

...weighed more than 200g.


How do I know?


Because I weighed myself this morning after my carer had left and I've just weighed myself again after 3 drinks and 2 vegan sausage rolls and my afternoon laps.  The result was that I'm now 200g lighter than I was this morning.  I can still do the two sets of laps every day, just not as comfortably as I could this morning, which is reassuring.


I DID IT!!!

I've finally Braved the Shave and got my first ever buzz cut in memory of my father!


My wonderful sister-in-law, Marie, also coloured my hair for me, but because I'm naturally dark brown it's not too noticeable, but I've got a pinky-purple scalp and apparently it's more noticeable in the sunlight.  But that's two first's that I've wanted to do for many years that I can finally tick off my list now.

I'm on top of the world and treating myself to an iced latte for lunch, to make it 3 firsts in about 5 hours.

Well, today's the day!  I've got my MacMillan t-shirt and my Little Princess Trust bracelets on and I can't believe it's finally happening!


I've weighed myself and I've put on 300g so I'll be doing both sets of laps this week.

It's been a loooong, tiring day today, but I washed my hair for the final time at 5.30am in preparation for tomorrow's shave.

Mornin' all

I've started my day off with an emergency wee, pulled the water heating switch for my shower and hair wash, taken my last blood pressure reading of the week and popped my last morning pills of the week.


The virus scan was reassuringly clear, so that's good news and I'm just waiting for the next half an hour to go and have my shower and wash my hair for the last time.


Today would've been our 23rd anniversary if I hadn't become a young widow 2½ years ago.


This first blog post of the day is getting a touch long so I'm gonna publish it, put today's to-do list together then go and wash my hair.  Gotta remember to put the pop and falafels into the bag ready for later too!

Blimey Charlie!!!

I've just opened up the solar panel email and I've earned over £300 in a year just from having the solar panels up and letting the sun shine onto them!  That's 3 winter months of electricity and considerably more than I was thinking!

Assuming I remember...

...I can take photos of liquids now, so tomorrow's breakfast (if I have anything) will be taken in the living room instead of the kitchen, without it sliding off the table.


C readjusted the table for me on Thursday and I forgot to bring my meals in before I took the photos yesterday and today, but the water didn't slide down the table today, so I'm feeling slightly more confident about taking photos of liquids on the table now.

Today's (28th June 2025) lunch photo

Today's lunch was another chocolatey one but this time with a 500ml glass of water instead of the decaff coffee and the chocolate biscuit bars were the Toucan ones instead of the Break ones too.

Aaaaand... relax

I've just got out of a gorgeously hot, lovely bubbly, relaxing, lavendar-scented bubble bath and I'm wide awake but totally relaxed now.


I finished off the bubble bath and I've just put a new one in the caddy.  I reckon I'll prolly get another one or two baths out of the shower gel and there's more waiting for me, although slightly hidden, in the cupboard.


I'm now gonna carry on with my day until about 11am when my penultimate carer of the week could turn up for my lunch, but might have to wait until 2.30pm if they forget me again.


Gonna do my laps at about 6.45am when I've hopefully regained my stability a bit more.  The monthly virus scan finished while I was in the bath and was still clear, so that's reassuring.

I've just seen that I didn't say goodnight to you all last night - woops!


So far this morning I've been for an emergency wee, pulled the water heating switch on, taken my blood pressure, been for another emergency wee and started off the monthly virus scan, so that's not too bad for the first hour of my day.  Gonna take my morning pills so that I don't forget for the third time lol

I'm not gonna have any breakfast today 'cos it's too close to when my carer could get here and I don't want to waste it!


I've taken my blood pressure which was the same as it's been for the last couple of days, popped my 9 morning pills with my first glass of water of the day and run the daily virus scan which was still, reassuringly, clear.


I've got a delivery due today apparently, so I hope Loki behaves himself and arranges it to come after I've got changed and before 5.30am lol

Mornin' all

I woke up desperate for a wee, so I think I need to stop drinking at 4pm rather than 5pm now!


My blood pressure was pretty normal for me and my 10 morning pills have been popped with my glass of water, so I can have my breakfast whenever I want now.  The daily virus scan was still clear, so that's reassuring.


My best friend is coming over this afternoon so I've just gotta remember to pack my laptop away when my carer has left so that he's got somewhere to put his drink!


Time to get today's to-do list together now I reckon.

Nite nite orl

It feels like I've run a marathon today and spilling hot coffee all over my hand between the kitchen and living room just adds to the pain.


I've had to order some more envelopes for my hair to be sent off 'cos apparently it has to be sent in "strong envelopes" as opposed to the bubblewrap ones that I thought.  I've also ordered some more drinks for Sunday lunch treats and they'll both be here on Friday apparently


I've taken my pills and I'm gonna crawl on up to beddy-byes now.
