I'm absolutely wiped out so I've popped my last two pills of the day and I'm heading on up to beddy-byes.


I may or may not see you in November because of NaNo so don't worry if it's total radio silence as of tomorrow morning.

My memory problems are hideous this morning because I've already taken my blood pressure and morning pills with my morning glass of water while the virus scan was running and I've just taken the bread out of the freezer for my breakfast after brushing my teeth, all before saying hello to you all!


I'll keep this short so that I can catch up with myself and hopefully put today's to-do list together before I have my breakfast at 5.50am.

Nite nite orl

My blood pressure is finally starting to creep back to my normal again now, so that's reassuring.  I'm more knackered and cold than my normal though, but the information sheet says that's a common side effect from the jab, so I'm not worrying about that.


I've popped my last two pills of the day and I'm heading up to bed, bang on time tonight.


I'll see you all in the morning for the last day before NaNo starts on Friday and I dip my toe not only into grown up (as opposed to adult) book-writing but also non-fiction too!  Basically, NaNo24 is gonna be me diving into the deep end and not being able to swim, so if I offer you a read of the first draft it'll be totally raw and unedited and should be treated like a baby bird that has fallen out of its nest and can't get back... I'll be showing you me at my most vulnerable so please don't let me down otherwise I'll know that I can't trust you any more.


I'm heading to bed now.

I was...

...worried/anxious for no reason about today's groceries 'cos Gaia and even Loki managed to get everything fitted in first time!


I realised this morning that I'd put another 2 tubs of drinking chocolate on today's order when I already had 5 in the cupboard so was worried about where I was going to put them all morning... the box of decaff teabags came out, I put the 2 new and two of the others half way back into the cupboard, the hovering drinking chocolate bopped into place in the basket, I put the teabags back and closed the door.  Anxiety number 1 solved.


The soya yoghurts were next, but they slid onto the top shelf next to the almond milk and I closed the fridge door.  Anxiety number 2 solved.


Next up was the mouthwashes... would there be enough room in the cupboard for two more?  After taking the original one out, I put today's two in, replaced the original one and slid the toothpaste back over.  Anxiety number 3 solved.


The biggest anxiety was the freezer stuff because there were 5 bags and a box to find room for.  I put the bread into the big freezer, carefully slid the box in, stood each of the bags upright and slid them in next, which left one bag that slid on top of the box et voila!  Two full freezers and me being able to eat without worrying about not being able to fit the open bag/box back in.  Anxiety number 4 solved and I let out a huge sigh of relief.

I think I've earnt a reward of a final frothy hot chocolate now, in celebration!

Today's (29th October 2024) lunch photo

Today's lunch was a bit of a "mash-up" after eating my lunch for a pre-breakfast snack so I went back to having a mug of instant minestrone Cup Soup to try and warm me up from one of the common side-effects of yesterday's jab.

I've just...

...discovered that the most foam comes from caffeinated instant coffee rather than decaff.


I've just had my first allowed "dose" of caffeine for this week and decided to use my milk frother, almond barista milk, and my big mug... and I'm glad I did 'cos on the max froth setting on the machine there was enough froth to overfill the mug - twice!


Sooo, so far I've learnt that I like my drinks way too hot... and that tepid is the proper temperature when using barista milk.  I've also learnt that caffeinated coffee foams waaaay more than decaff.


I'm wide awake now and will be rushing backwards and forwards to the bathroom for the rest of the day but I'm at the bottom of the jar now, so I'm hoping that I'll have it finished before I've finished NaNo, but I'll try and remember to use the small froth setting next time I have a frothy caffeinated coffee.


Oooh, this is the start of the wee-athon so I'm shutting up and publishing this before I wet myself  lol  TMI?  lol

Mornin' all

I've woken up weak and itchy but I've taken my blood pressure (almost back to my normal now), started the daily virus scan and popped my morning pills so I'm good to go now.


My groceries are coming this afternoon and I've gotta remember to put in my next order, as well as charge up my FitBit... you watch me forget though lol


My lunch will be the last one of just 10 slices of apple then I'll be able to have proper lunches until the end of November before going back to having an instant soup for lunch again... my stomach's not going to know what's hit it lol


This blog post is getting a bit long so I'm gonna publish it and put today's to-do list up now, then make myself my first barista hot choccie, made with almond milk, of the day.

Nite nite orl

It's been a long, tiring, stressful, painful day today and my arm is weaker and stiffer than normal so I've popped my last two pills of the day a bit early and I'm gonna head on up to bed for a well-deserved early night.


I've put proper food (as opposed to soya yoghurts) on tomorrow's grocery order so I'll see if having a full belly of proper food (as opposed to 20 slices of apple for lunch) helps me to recover a bit more strength... I just hope there's room in the freezer now!  lol

My first meal of the week was 2 slices of wholemeal 'Toastie' toast and 'Buttery' spread with a 500ml glass of water.


I'm not sure when I'll feel up to eating again after my jab this morning, but I've got plenty of ginger beer and crystalised ginger to keep me going as well so I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that there are only 2 weeks of side effects (like last years jab) rather than the 10 weeks I suffered with the first one.

Mornin' all

I've had a pretty productive start to the day after waking up at just gone 3.45am desperate for a wee and I decided to stay up after that.  In the 45 minutes that I've been awake, I've managed to:

Mornin' all

Did you remember that the clocks went back overnight?  I didn't!  lol  I woke up at 4am thinking it was 5am and rushed around getting my hair brushed and glasses on etc so that I didn't miss my last carer of the week, came downstairs, took my blood pressure and it wasn't until I took the photos that I realised that I could have had an extra hour in bed lol


Because of being up an hour early, I've been able to have my breakfast of the last of the box of mince pies and my second glass of water of the morning (my first was when I took my morning pills), so I'm all set for the day now.


Time to publish this then get my day's to-do list together, 59 minutes before my carer could arrive this morning.  Gonna give my FitBit some emergency juice too.
