Nite nite orl

It's been a looong day for me after waking up before 4am and being downstairs, taking my blood pressure and pills before 4.30am and breakfast made and eaten and virus scan started by 5am, so I'm gonna drag myself upstairs and fall into bed.


I'll see you all in the morning and until lunchtime 'cos I'm seeing my best friend after lunch and I dunno if I'll have time to put the photo up before he arrives or not.

Today (30th April 2025) I'm grateful for...

...waking up at 4am so that I could have my breakfast before my carer arrived.


I'm also grateful for my deliveries turning up at a sensible time and my lunch not affecting me too badly.


I'm grateful that the ginger beer still has such a calming effect on my stomach and that I've been able to eat some "normal" chocolate to please my sweet tooth.


I'm grateful that I've found The Healthy Snack Box company - have I found my new full-size replacement for Graze??

Mornin' all

I've had a pretty productive, if stressful, morning so far.


Why?


Because I've taken my blood pressure, popped my morning pills, started the weekly virus scan, had my breakfast, finished the weekly virus scan and started the backups, all before 5.30am.


So why am I stressed?


Because my flippin' phone has decided to stop dating and timing the photos I take and I don't know why or how to fix it!


The backups are zipping away like nobody's business and my deliveries are coming via Royal Mail so hopefully that'll be at a sensible time and I can take my last pills of the day at the usual time tonight.


Time to do the washing up and get today's to-do list together now I reckon.

I've got a couple of busy days ahead of me tomorrow (the weekly virus scan, backups, charging up my new FitBit and 2 deliveries) and Thursday (seeing C) so I'm not sure how much I'll be posting until Friday morning.  I'm predicting that the deliveries will come mid-charge of my FitBit when I've only got one shoe on though lol


I've popped my last two pills of the day and I'm gonna shoot on up to beddy-byes now.

Mornin' all

Well, today has started off OK because I only retched once while I was taking my pills this morning.  I took my pills before my blood pressure because the light kept going on and off so I made the best use of the time.


The virus scan is chugging away and I've gotta remember to put my next grocery order in, put the bags in front of the door after lunch, bring my groceries in and put them away and clear the browser cache's ready for tomorrow's weekly scan and backups as well as charging up my FitBit and having breakfast after my carer has left.


The daily virus scan was reassuringly still clear, so that's a good way to start the day.


This blog post is getting a bit long so I'm gonna publish it and put today's to-do list together now.

Book Review: "Not in Love" by Ali Hazelwood

Kindle     Audiobook     Paperback
⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5

Every book I read and review kicks off with the full heart of 5 stars and I'm always hopeful that they'll all still be wedged firmly in place by the time I close the back cover.  It breaks my heart every time I take a star off a great book, but copyright or trademark infringement are usually the biggest reason for dropping a star off an otherwise brilliant book.  I've hurriedly replaced a star when a magic little sentence was at the back of the book and if that magic sentence is at the start of the book then the star stays in place throughout.


I'm a sucker for feel-good books and if there's a touch of romance thrown into the mix then so much the better.


Let's get going with the reading and reviewing shall we?


Oh dear, a star is coming off already for use of a careers/job-hunting website online.  The magic sentence wasn't at the start of the book so I'm seriously hoping it'll be at the end.


Wowsers!  Those first three chapters were spectacular!  It's already another "shoulda been 5 stars" book.  Will it even become one of my favourites already after only 14%?


Up to chapter 6 now and it's just getting better and better and better!


This is the perfect mixture of romance and work... I'm gonna finish reading one more chapter then have a comforting hot choccie before bed...


I'm up to page 92/24% and I'm gonna stop reading now to try and calm down a bit and get back to reality before I head to bed lol


Wowsers!  Chapter 10 was so unbelievably powerful!


So was chapter 11!


I'm up to chapter 20 now and this book is a definite must-read 'cos I don't know where the last 8 chapters or the entire morning have disappeared to!


The last sentence of chapter 22 made me chuckle softly and shake my head in disbelief... a very rare occurrence indeed!


Chapter 26 was a surprise too!


I'm now up to chapter 38 and the author is tiding up all the last bits and bobs and it feels like they are going "tomorrow is the last day" but they are easing me into it gently instead of just stopping.  Tomorrow will be the third day of reading it and it's felt like I've been in a warm, comforting hug throughout even though I've managed to do precisely nothing lol


Time for me to hit the hay again and I'll get the book finished and this review put up tomorrow... will it be a tear-jerking ending??


What a way to end the book!  If I'd read it yesterday it would have caused tears, but not this morning.


If you don't mind reading about naked bodies and intimate acts then you *have* to read this book!

Mornin' all

I've woken up with a head/eye ache brewing, my blood pressure was slightly raised, I've popped my morning pills and started off the monthly virus scan.


I've gotta remember to weigh myself after I've had my breakfast so that I can log it into my FitBit app and know if I should or shouldn't do my laps this week.


Both of my phones are being charged up and I've gotta remember to charge up both FitBits today, so I'll hopefully remember to do that while I finish reading the book.


Gotta remember to ask my lunchtime carer to help me to change the bedding today then wash and dry it after she's left and take it upstairs before bedtime.  Gotta remember to bring the rubbish and recycling in too, as well as hopefully a delivery.

  • Keep an eye on Freegle to see if anyone wants anything - someone wants the DVD too - someone else wants the PPE!! - and a third person wants the plug - someone is due this afternoon to pick up some things and I've chased up the other two Freeglers too and reoffered the other things that nobody has wanted so far - the Freegler picked up their things so I'm just waiting for the other two Freeglers to reply now - one replied overnight and said they were coming to pick their things up at the start of May, so just waiting on the other Freegler now

My electricity meter has come on and...

...it's the least it has been possibly since I got it 'cos it's showing that I've used 69p of electricity since midnight!!
