I've just tried to be helpful and wash out our spaghetti jar... with boiling water... straight from the kettle. There was a loud, deep "pop" and the glass right at the top (where the lid attaches to, to create an air-tight seal) split, so it's not airtight any more and we can't open our packet of spaghetti until we get a new one.
That'll teach me not to try and be helpful any more 😜 lol
