Nite nite orl

I've gotta remember to weigh myself after I've had my breakfast tomorrow and log it into my FitBit app so that I can see if I've reached my new minimum lap-doing weight or not... I hope I have 'cos I've been seriously in the red, calorie-wise every day this last week and I've felt sooo sluggish!  I'm not gonna take any risks though, so if my weight isn't back up to the new minimum then I just won't do them again.


I've popped my last two pills of the day, week and month so I'm gonna head on up to beddy-byes now.

Fifth and final update to today's to-do list

  • Drink glass of water

  • Run daily virus scan
  • Turn on air purifier
  • Read through hospital medical records - just got the test results and microfilm to go now - I'm over the major part of my stay so they are just feeding me up and sending me home now... I've just started eating and drinking again so I'm just rounding the last corner of the marathon! - that's the second document of notes finished, so just gotta get through the microfilm document now and then I can write to my GP surgery with all my questions - I'm well over half way through the last document and have gotta remember to ask if it's spelt with an "ov" or and "off" or if it doesn't matter like with diarrhoea - all done and dusted now
  • Plan out more of my NaNo/JanNo book with the new information
  • Go through test results and put the results in appropriate places in my research/planning info - aiming to do this after the microfilm is sorted - I need to find out which is appropriate to my diagnosis first and I can only find that out when I hear from the medical bod(s) with the answers to all my questions
  • Go through microfilm document and write down questions for my GP surgery - I'm up to page 15 of 904 so far - page 561 as of 4.30pm today so I'm rattling through it at a rate of knotts now! - page 619 at 12.11pm! - page 791 at 1.51pm... the end is in sight now!! - Aaaand it's all sorted
  • Go through microfilm document and put info in appropriate places in my research/planning info - just gotta wait for the delivery on Wednesday then I can drop the letter and CD off and wait to hear back about the answers to my questions so that I don't get anything wrong or put in information that isn't appropriate
  • Save all the documents onto 2 CDs (one for me, one to go with the letter) - just gotta wait for the delivery on Wednesday 'cos I put the CD's and cases on Freegle so I've had to buy some more lol

Mornin' all

I've woken up in a good mood, but late for me this morning.  I've managed to catch up with everything now though, so that's OK and I'm just waiting for my last carer of the week to arrive.


I've popped my morning pills and the last virus scan of the week is plodding along.  I've gotta remember to refill my squash bottle when my carer has left for the last time this week and I've gotta take the rubbish and recycling out too, as well as working on and hopefully finishing off the notes I've been making for my next book then I can finish off the letter, save everything on to a couple of CD's et voila!


My electricity smart meter is showing that I've used up 77p of electricity so far today, so I'm hoping it'll be my 4th day (out of the last 9 days) under £1 today.


This first post of the day is getting a bit long, so I'm gonna publish it and hopefully put today's to-do list up before my last carer arrives.

Oooh! So close!

Just made myself my third hot chocolate out of the new tub and it's not chocolatey enough now!  lol


Hopefully just making the spoonful a little bit more heaped will be all that's needed but it needs to be somewhere between the 2 level-ish spoons (which was a bit dark) and 1 heaped (which isn't chocolatey enough)... 1 very heaped should hopefully have it bang on though and it gives me an excuse to have endless mugs of me-friendly hot chocolates lol

Today's lunch really couldn't have been any simpler, which was fortunate 'cos my carer was more interested in charging up her phone while I was getting the 150g of walnut pieces out of the drawers, then she came and made herself comfortable in the living room while I was getting the 500ml glass of water and bringing both the walnuts and the water into the living room too.  She then decided to spend the entire 18 minute visit picking at her fingers and nails until she spotted that her time was up on my phone, went into the kitchen, unplugged her phone, signed out and left.

Almost bullseye?

I've tried the newest hot chocolate twice so far today, the first with 2 heaped teaspoons of powder ('cos it gives grams rather than teaspoons so I'll be experimenting for a while) which was waaaay to dark even for me, so my next was 2 level teaspoons and that was better, but still a bit dark for me, so after I've had my lunch (150g of walnut halves) I'm gonna try 1 heaped teaspoon to see if that's right for me, then 1 level teaspoon to see which I prefer.


It's definitely another me-friendly choccie drink that I can have, but I've gotta get through a 2kg tub of it before I buy any more lol

I've just started eating and drinking again so I'm just rounding the last corner of the marathon! - that's the second document of notes finished, so just gotta get through the microfilm document now and then I can write to my GP surgery with all my questions - I'm well over half way through the last document and have gotta remember to ask if it's spelt with an "ov" or and "off" or if it doesn't matter like with diarrhoea
  • Plan out more of my NaNo/JanNo book with the new information
  • Go through test results and put the results in appropriate places in my research/planning info - aiming to do this after the microfilm is sorted
  • Go through microfilm document and write down questions for my GP surgery - I'm up to page 15 of 904 so far - page 561 as of 4.30pm today so I'm rattling through it at a rate of knotts now!

Today's (29th June 2024) breakfast photo

I finished off the sleeve of Weetabix with chocolate this morning, so I'm gonna start on the box of granola (or whatever it is) for a change tomorrow.  I sloshed a new carton of plant protein soya milk over the Weetabix and had my usual bottle of orange juice too.  Just to really spike my blood sugar I also finished off the tub of drinking chocolate and started off a new can of me-friendly squirty cream.  I've got a new-to-me 1kg tub of vegan hot chocolate to try, so I'll see if I get an allergic reaction from it or if I can safely have it without any nasty effects.

Mornin' all

Been up for getting on for an hour but this is the first time I've had internet access, so I'm all behind again now.


I've popped my morning pills with my morning glass of water so I'm just waiting for my first carer of the day now.


22 years ago today I became a wife and it's my second anniversary as a widow, so we shall see what today brings.


Gotta remember to put in a prescription request for my APs at some point this weekend... you watch me forget though.

I've had a really productive afternoon!

I was in the very low double figures before I started (I think I was at page 15 or 17 or something like that) but I'm now up to page 561 out of 902 so I've done really well today, I reckon!  Admittedly most of the pages were things that I didn't have the foggiest clue about or that I'd already made notes on them from the previous documents but I'm over half way through now, so I'm rewarding myself with a drinking choccie and an early night I reckon.

Today's lunch really couldn't have been any simpler - just a 6 serving packet of bacon flavour rashers crisps and a 500ml glass of water.


I haven't got any crisps left now, so as long as I remember, tomorrow's lunch will be 150g of walnut halves then a packet of 8 chocolate biscuit bars after that, which'll take me to my groceries being delivered on Tuesday afternoon when I'll hopefully be able to have a ready-made pasta salad now that I know my fridge-freezer won't be defrosted any time soon

Mornin' all/Yeess!!

Gooooood morning all


By the time I got upstairs last night I wasn't tired any more, so read a magasine for a while before giving up on that too.  I've remembered that it's the monthly virus scan today and discovered that my watch was getting low on juice so that's charging up too, but I'm relieved that I managed to start the monthly scan first time and remembered not to open my email programmes too.


Today's main task is to attempt to get a bit more of the microfilm document sorted so that I can come up with more questions for the poor doctor who is lumbered with answering them all for me.


This blog post is getting long again, so I'm gonna publish it and put today's to-do list up before my first carer of the day arrives... will she actually do her job or just have her nose in her phone for the entire visit again?

Nite nite orl

Gotta remember not to open my email programmes in the morning 'cos of the monthly virus scan... you watch me forget though!  lol


I've popped my last two pills of the day and my FitBit is 1% away from being fully charged so I'm gonna wait for that to finish then head off to beddy-byes.


Can someone remind me to test out my new 4-in-1 tomorrow to see how much difference changing it to "quiet mode" has made pretty please?


I'm gonna head off to beddy-byes now.

Fifth and final update to today's to-do list

  • Drink glass of water
  • Take morning pills
  • Run daily virus scan
  • Turn on air purifier
  • Read through hospital medical records - just got the test results and microfilm to go now - I'm over the major part of my stay so they are just feeding me up and sending me home now... I've just started eating and drinking again so I'm just rounding the last corner of the marathon! - that's the second document of notes finished, so just gotta get through the microfilm document now and then I can write to my GP surgery with all my questions
  • Plan out more of my NaNo/JanNo book with the new information
  • Go through test results and put the results in appropriate places in my research/planning info - aiming to do this after the microfilm is sorted
  • Go through microfilm document and write down questions for my GP surgery - I'm up to page 15 of 904 so far
  • Go through microfilm document and put info in appropriate places in my research/planning info
  • Save all the documents onto 2 CDs (one for me, one to go with the letter)
  • Write to my GP surgery with all the questions
  • Take pre-carer visit video of kitchen and bathroom
  • Save first video

  • Unplug laptop - unplugged at 2.47pm and it's saying that there's 3 hours and 54 minutes of battery left - 1 hour and 46 minutes left at 4.52pm so I'm seriously impressed with that! - it finally went "critically low battery" and put everything into a deep sleep after about 2½ hours so I'm seriously impressed with that!

I've worked out that...

...I drink out of boredom rather than thirst or loneliness 'cos I haven't reached my minimum liquid intake all week thanks to things keeping my attention soley focussed and the days haven't dragged either, like they usually do.  I've only been 1 hot drink away from meeting the minimum each day so I'm gonna attempt to hit the target again tomorrow.

My laptop finally...

...went "critically low battery" as I was boiling the kettle, but that's 2½ hours on battery that only lasted 10 minutes on the original charger!  That's over 200% longer if my maths is right!


It's plugged back in and charging back up again now, obviously, so I'm gonna put my FitBit on to get some juice too, while I slurp my way through my final creamy drinking chocolate of the day.

My laptop has been...

...unplugged and running on battery for 1 hour and 13 minutes so far and it's only used up 26% of the battery with 3 hours and 2 minutes remaining so I don't know what happened between changing the chargers but this new one is doing some magic with the battery 'cos it would have died on me an hour ago on the other one!
