Mornin' all

I was wrong again last night, to think that I could have an early night 'cos my carer decided to snooze for an extra hour and a half, so I managed to rack up 10½ hours of care yesterday, so I've just gotta put in another 21½ hours before bedtime tomorrow to hit the magic target of 80 hours which is almost 2⅓ times more than is necessary to be recognised as a carer.

I've already taken my morning pills and I'm feeling considerably better than I have since Tuesday, so I really do reckon it was a blood sugar problem that was making me feel so lousy.

I've been out to water the plants and made a drinking choccie for me an' 'im so next up is making breakfast, so I'd best go and do that now that my carer is awake.  There's only a small amount of granola left, so I'm gonna have that, a punnet of blueberries and the other smoothie for breakfast and hope that Steve can still motivate himself to make lunch for us for the second time this week... you all know that rant word for word by now, right?  😉

Nite nite orl

I've done the adding up on the spreadsheet and I'll easily hit 80 hours this week 'cos I've only gotta put in 23 more hours which should be pretty achievable 'cos it's only 11 hours one day and 12 hours the next.  My body takes priority though, so if I only manage 10 hour days (or less) then so be it.

I'm orf to beddy-byes now though and Steve'll have to take his own plate through to the kitchen for a very rare change.

Nite nite orl.

Carer's tea made...

...pills taken and I'm gonna have an early night tonight 'cos my carer is awake atm so it's a good opportunity to say goodnight to him and maybe actually be asleep before 8pm for the first time in a looong time.

Just given...

...the garden its first drink for about 24 hours because it rained at about this time yesterday and again overnight, so I didn't do the watering last night or this morning and had to recover from my medical appointment this afternoon, so didn't water the plants then either 'cos the ground was still very wet but I've just given them a small drink so that they don't keel over and die of thirst because the soil tends to dry up quicker than the concrete, so divided 2½ jugs between all 5 pots instead of my usual 3½ to 4 jugs which I know doesn't sound like a huge difference, but the soil was still pretty damp so didn't want to overwater them.

Unless it rains tonight, it'll be back to normal with the gardening as well as everything else tomorrow.

Today's (2nd September 2022) lunch photo

I had a medical appointment just before lunch and Steve suggested having a treat for a late lunch of a Caffe Nero delivery.  We are both still wiped out after Wednesday morning and it was only SuperRice (for Steve) and cous cous (for me) on the menu today, so it wasn't gonna be a big lunch to begin with.

I decided to try a decaffeinated cappuchino with soya milk and a shot of salted caramel syrup along with two vegetable vegan sausage rolls.  I had a sneaky sip of Steve's latte as well but I didn't really enjoy the flavour, so my current thinking is that I'll have a decaffeinated Mocha Grande when I'm craving chocolate or deserve a treat and a decaffeinated Cappuchino Grande when I'm craving luxury coffee.  I'm gonna pretend that Latte's don't exist for me I reckon lol

Here's my late lunch photo for today:

Since I got back, I've discovered...

...that my pain and exhaustion was due, in part, to low blood sugar 'cos the Caffe Nero treat I've just had (2 vegetable vegan sausage rolls and a decaff cappuchino with a shot of salted caramel syrup) has significantly helped with the pain, especially, but I've also got a bit more oompf to me too now.

I didn't take any of my supplements this morning, which has prolly added to it, but I didn't want to affect the blood test I had, so I'm gonna dose up on them now which will hopefully take me back to how I usually feel.

Basically, I should have a Mocha when I need something chocolatey or treaty, Cappuchino when I'm craving coffee and to not miss my supplements for more than 24 hours again.

Gonna go and dose myself up now so that I can hopefully dramatically improve the improvement... gonna use the B12 spray for a pretty much instant boost too so that I can get as many goodies into me as soon as I possibly can.  I seriously hope I don't have another week like this week again for a veeery long time to come 'cos my body is telling me that I've seriously overdone it since Wednesday morning and I'm gonna use every opportunity to stay off my feet and recover as much as possible now.  We've got our groceries due on Tuesday morning, same as usual, but other than that I'm gonna stay on the sofa as much as possible and literally the only time I will move anywhere is either to the kitchen or the bathroom then upstairs at bedtime - it's gonna be me doing everything possible to help my body to recover for as long as it takes.

➰➰➰

Woops!  Shoulda posted this blog post before now!

I've just popped my morning pills and I can feel my body already relaxing.  I'm gonna leave off the lunchtime pill then go back to normal again starting tomorrow.

I can already feel my body grabbing at the vitamins and minerals that it needs and my exhaustion is already starting to ease slightly and the pain is slowly reducing too.  I'm gonna leave off the B12 spray after all otherwise I'll be wide awake and full of energy at bedtime, which is the last thing I need 😆

Gonna resize the photo and put it up here on the blog and on Instagram then catch up on emails and Facebook and stuff this afternoon.

Look after yourselves and each other.

Back now and...

...after the stress of this morning and having to take 2 taxi's that I couldn't afford, everything is OK... my heart rate and BP was up a bit but she said that could have been 'cos I hadn't had a chance to recover between getting booked in and having to go and get it done.  She wants me to have the BP done again next time I'm there, but it's not so urgent this time and hopefully I'll feel more relaxed and have time to recover between getting booked in and getting it done next time 😌

We're having a treaty take-away lunch as a reward from Caffe Nero and I think the pain and utter exhaustion is because maybe my blood sugar was a touch low after barely eating this week and drinking considerably less than I usually do this morning.  A 500ml bottle of Pepsi Max Cherry started to help so hopefully the Caffe Nero stuff will take it back up to where it should be.

I'm just glad it's over and done with for another year again now is all.

I knew it!

Steve's just phoned his family to check that Marie can still take me and she can't, so I've gotta find the money out of thin air to get a taxi there and back.  I bet the blood taker won't test my blood pressure either, so I'll have to keep the appointment for 2 weeks time and Marie won't take me to that one either so I'll have to magic £15 out of thin air for that appointment too.  I definitely won't be able to stay upright for long enough for making my own lunch as well as Steve's this afternoon now, so it really is a good job that I had breakfast this morning, innit?  😡

Today's (2nd September 2022) breakfast photo

I had 2 punnets of blueberries in the fridge and tomorrow is their last day, so I had my usual breakfast of tropical fruits granola, soya milk and 125g of blueberries today.  The blueberries gave the granola a much-needed sweet kick 'cos I'm right at the bottom of the granola now, so it'll barely cover the bottom of the bowl, so the blueberries will be most of my breakfast tomorrow, Sunday will be the other smoothie and that'll be it until Steve (my hubby/carer) opens the next packet and puts it into the jug for me.

Here's today's breakfast photo:

Mornin' all

How are you all getting along this too-early morning?

I'm doing OK... gotta remember to phone my MIL and check to see what time Marie's coming to pick me up for my appointment 'cos I thought it was an hour later than it actually is but he got the time right when I asked him yesterday.

I'm charging up my phone, watch and FitBit, but I won't be taking my phone with me unless I need to call a taxi, but hopefully that won't happen so I won't need to take my bag with me.

I've taken one of my pills this morning and I'll take the supplements when I get back so that they don't screw up the test result.

I've already cared for my carer for pretty much 1 hour this morning and it was 11 hours and 50 minutes by the time I was allowed to go to bed last night, so I've already cared for my carer for very nearly 49 hours this week and my carer has achieved a huge 6 hours and 10 minutes so far this week, so he just needs to put in 10 hours of care a day between now and bedtime on Sunday to hit the minimum that he says he does.  I'm letting him sleep more than normal so that he can recover from caring for me for 5 hours on Wednesday - it's really taken it out of him, bless him.  He'll be able to sleep deeply while I'm at my medical appointment though as well as his usual 9-ish hours of sleep that he usually gets during the day too.

I'm not gonna do the news again today, but things should be back to normal again tomorrow for 10 days before my next medical appointment then that's hopefully it for another year.

When Steve wakes up, I'll go and make his breakfast for him.  I'll get my own too if there are enough clean bowls and spoons but if there's only one bowl and spoon then I'll go hungry until lunchtime again.

Steve's made one meal so far this week and I've made 11 of his and he hasn't made a single drink for me yet again... apparently he makes all my meals and drinks for me though <shrug>

The Green Man and Gaia answered yesterday's prayer 'cos it rained again overnight so I won't need to do the watering this morning.

Steve's awake and gone for his poo now "then I'll get washed and get out of your way to make breakfast" so looks like he's assuming that I'll make breakfast every morning now as well as his tea every evening and the majority of lunches too.  I'm giving him the rest of the week to recover then we'll hopefully go back to normal next week with him making more than 2 or 3 meals a week... in reality though, I'm seriously doubting it'll happen like that and I'll end up making the vast majority of meals again even though he claims he makes them all <shrug>

He's gotta phone the electricity bods today too, like he promised that he would yesterday - you'll have to forgive me for doubting that'll happen too.

It's SuperRice (for Steve) and Cous Cous (for me) on the menu again for today, so I'm predicting that I'll be making the lunch again today for the 4th time this week and that after I've stood up to make Steve's rice I won't be able to safely stay on my feet for long enough to make my cous cous, so I'll be going hungry at lunchtime for the 3rd day this week, so I guess I'd best have a bowl of granola for breakfast instead of the smoothie then.

Steve's out of the bathroom now and to give him credit, he's boiling the kettle, so there will hopefully be enough water for me to have a hot bath in a couple of weeks, then the emersion will be off until we get our hairs cut again.

My FitBit has finished charging up now and is back around my ankle, so I'd best make the most of the opportunity of Steve being awake to sort out the forum and run the daily virus scan now I s'pose.
