Saturday 17th November 2018

Just got back from walking the pup.  She poo'd (which I, as a responsible dog owner, cleared up) then she carried on walking which was fine, did 250% and carried on walking, 300% and the pup still didn't want to stop.  My legs were starting to get tired by this point so I said that we'd do another 50% then come home.  350% came and went, as did 400% and she carried on walking.  It was becoming unsafe by this point so as soon as we'd walked 450% we came in.  There's no way I could have safely walked any further so we came in, despite the pup wanting to keep walking.  That 450% increased the record by 50%.

That means, after 6 days, there's the current bank total of 750% plus today's 350% extra means that there's 1100% in the bank and we've still got tomorrow's walk to do too!  I very much doubt I'll be able to do any more than 100% safely tomorrow but the bank being so huge after only 6 days is incredible for a senior pup!

She's fast asleep under Steve's leg now and my eyes are drooping already, even though I've only been awake for 2 hours lol

I used to have a B12 spray to give me energy and I'm in desperate need of it now, but I don't think I've got any left!  😟
***

That's a relief!  Just found the spray in my bag so just sprayed 4 sprays into my mouth so it'll hopefully kick in by the time I've taken my morning cocktail... saying that though, it's starting to kick in already, less than 15 seconds after the first squirt!!

I love how much the B12 helps so quickly and the supplements I take keep me on the level too!
***

That's me morning cocktail taken and the multi is going to be sooo needed today after the marathon me an' the puppy did this morning!

Gonna have to be a very early night tonight, no matter how much or little the virus scan has done 'cos I'll need all the sleep I can get by the end of the day!
***

Considering this morning's marathon with the puppy, I'm not feeling as exhausted as I thought I would be, thanks to the B12 spray!

My knees are painful and won't go any further than the bathroom and back, but that's totally OK with me!
***

Steve's just explained why we've been having take-aways every day for the last few months and it was pretty much exactly the reason I'd been thinking, but now that he's unemployed again we've just made a committment to each other... on Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's Steve's gonna walk the pup with me and we'll have take-aways for our food.  On Tuesday's, Thursday's and Saturday's we'll have home-cooked meals which leaves Sunday's when we'll treat ourselves to a Sunday lunch delivery from a local cafe... assuming we have cash on us of course!  lol

My committment is to not pressure Steve "to be ready to go at 7am" on the days he joins us for our daily stroll.  That's fine by me as long as we've gone and come back before lunchtime 'cos my body and motivation start dwindling after lunch, so I don't want Steve to have to pressure me to go out with him and the pup.

We've been out of the habit for so long that it'll take a while to reprogramme ourselves again and Steve'll have to remind me a few times a week, but after that we'll be good to go again and it'll help all three of us to loose weight and become closer as a little family again, as well as being so much healthier!

Me, Steve and Mitzi have all made a committment to each other to support one another and encourage us to become healthier and more active again.

We can so do this again... the first little while will be tough going but it's definitely doable again as long as we encourage each other and stick to the committments we've just made to each other.

Wish us luck?  Please?
***

Bed time now that me prescription is kicking in and I deserve the extra 2 hours' sleep after this morning!  lol

Nite nite orl!

Friday 16th November 2018

That's the virus scan started.  It was more complicated than it needed to be this week 'cos it was "out of date" so I clicked the button to update it, then it needed to restart the computer, then it found something that was trying to stop it working.  I sorted that out then it said the UI wasn't responding so I had to close it and restart it before I could set it going for the first time.

If my calculations are right, it'll be finished at about 6am on Sunday, rather than late tomorrow now, which is totally fine if a little annoying.  TBH though, I'd much rather that it took longer to do and keep me safe than to do a quicker scan and for viruses and malware to slip through and damage my laptop and destroy files and infect my friends and relatives!
***

Time to take our senior pup for her morning stroll now then take me morning cocktail and carry on with the surveys.
***

That's the pup walked, fed and watered.  She only wanted to do 100% today, so there's still 750% in the bank which still means she's done on average 150% extra every day which is awesome.  I don't want to force her to walk more than she wants just in case she's in pain or something... as long as she does 100%, that's enough and I'm fine with it.

Time for my morning cocktail now, then on with the surveys.
***

It was amazingly easy to take all 3 of me supplements this morning 1.5 mouthfuls of squash for the Calcium and 1 each for the Iron and Multi!

I like easy mornings like today!  😁
***

Virus scan is at 26% so it prolly won't move for the rest of the day now then it'll be at about 45% when I come down tomorrow morning and it'll keep plodding on from there.

If it's up to at least 95% tomorrow evening I'll stay up for it to finish, otherwise I'll go to bed, same as last week.
***

That's me prescription taken.  Reading a YA/cross-over book about vampires as research for my synopsis for Terror... hope it won't give me nightmares tonight!
***

Gonna head to bed now, for an early night in the hope that the book I've been reading all day doesn't give me nightmares!!

Nite nite orl!

Thursday 15th November 2018 part 2

This'll just be a very short blog post 'cos I've just cleared the cache's in both browsers ready for starting the deep virus and malware scan as soon as I wake up and come down tomorrow.

Absolutely bloated from me tea, so waiting for that to go down before I take my prescription 'cos it makes me really nauseous within a couple of minutes after taking it, so don't want to be throwing it up when I lay down to go to sleep tonight and I'll be too bloated for the ginger beer, so I'm considering a day of not taking it, just because it's already 7.34pm and I usually take it at like 4 or 5 o'clock so even if I take it right now, it'll be 2.30am before I even start to feel tired!

I'd rather miss a day and not throw up than to take it and not even feel well enough to go upstairs until the early hours of the morning!  I know I should take it every day but it's only a couple of times a year that it happens and this is my second time this year and only because it's got lactose in the recipe which I'm allergic to.
***

Scratch that.  I am going to take me prescription tonight 'cos I've just found a can of ginger beer that's really old, and I'm such a Scroogy tight-wad that I don't want to waste it, so I've just opened it and I'm gonna take me prescription now.  It'll be a risky, very late night for me, but it's better that than missing the dose and not being able to miss another dose this year.
***

That's me prescription taken, so I'll be up until the early hours and asleep until the early afternoon tomorrow now  😞
***

Not sure if it's the ginger beer or my system is used to the new recipe, but I'm not feeling sick yet, so of course I've jinxed it now!  lol

I'm gonna make the best of it and head to bed now though, so nite nite again orl!  I'll bore you all rigid again tomorrow  😊

Thursday 15th November 2018

That's the puppy walked and fed.

We did 250% today, so add the extra 150% to what's already in the bank and we're already at 750% after only four days!!

We met a Jack Russell on an extending lead this morning.  Our pup's tail was wagging into a blur and the other dog seemed interested too, so I'm standing there keeping Mitzi under full control and the other dog starts running over to her.  The other dogs owners didn't seem to care until they got to a car width away from us when they suddenly stopped the lead extending and the poor pup came to a sudden stop.

The Dogs Trust say not to use extending leads for that exact reason!  They are risking their dogs vocal cords by not using a harness and it must hurt the poor pup's necks too by coming to a sudden stop in the middle of a run!

It's their choice though and their responsibility for the vet bills when they need to replace the dogs vocal cords!

Rant over lol

Time to take me morning cocktail before Steve's visitor arrives to discuss her website now.
***

That's me supplements taken, so now I just need to try and find the document about how to write an attention-grabbing synopsis for the manuscript I finished last night... only several hundred thousand emails to search through lol
***

First survey of the day completed... this is how I used to waste my days pre-NaNo this year lol
***

Steve's just ordered our tea, so I'm gonna shut down now and dunno if I'll log back on before I head to bed, so I'll say nite nite now just in case!
***

Wednesday 14th November 2018

Just got back from taking the pup for her walkies.  She only wanted to do 200% today, but as long as she does at least 100% every day, I'm happy with that.  It means that there's 600% in the bank after only 3 days too, which is awesome!

Time for me morning cocktail now.
***

Two gulps of squash for the Calcium, one for the Iron and two for the multi today which is about average now.

On with me writing!
***

It's official. As of 10.07pm last night I've got my first cold of the season and, as predicted, I had 2 weeks and 5 days of break between the hayfever stopping and the cold season starting. Just enough time for my nose to have recovered from all the wiping before it started up again.

My eyes are watering and I'm already sniffing today... it's the sore throat that's the worst 'cos every breath is painful and I won't be able to breathe through my nose 'cos it'll be blocked for the next 5 months - Lockets, Tunes and tissues will be a regular feature on our grocery shopping until March, when I'll have another 2 week break and the cycle will start all over again.

😒

It was good while it lasted.
***

That's the first chapter of the last five written. It took 3 hours to write, but it's done before lunch and I'm back in the writing headspace now so hopefully the final four chapters will just flow out of me so that I can reward myself with a can of J2O whilst watching the last two Masterchef episodes that I haven't seen.
***

Two down, three to go.

Steve's brought our lunch in, but I want to keep writing so that I don't get out of the headspace that I'm currently in. I've already achieved more in 5 hours than I did all day yesterday... I wrote one chapter during the day, one in the late afternoon and the third just before I went to bed yesterday, but I've already written 2 chapters in 5 hours as well as walking the pup today, so I'm doing well!
***

Three down, two to go now... the end of the manuscript is almost in touching distance after exactly 2 weeks!

I'm soooo close now, even though at the start of the week I was thinking that I'd be finished later than this because I was only writing 3 chapters a day instead of 4, but I've got 2 chapters to write in about 5 hours now, so hopefully I'll be able to have my celebratory J2O before I hit the sack too!
***

That's the penultimate chapter typed out so I've just got 1,500 words left to write to complete 1.5 NaNo's in exactly two weeks.

I can soo do this and still get to bed before 10pm at a normalish kinda time for me.

Gonna go and grab a can of ginger beer and take my pills ready for finishing the entire manuscript then I'll gladly guzzle the last J2O of the season and prepare to start an edit-athon for the rest of November so that I can hopefully ease myself back into my non-writing life.
***

That's me prescription taken and the can of ginger beer opened up... didn't need the extra can this morning so hopefully it'll be the same tomorrow 'cos I've only got 6 cans left!!
***

75,003 words written in 14 days is an all-time record and is gonna take some beating in future years!
***

My prescription is kicking in and I'm totally spend after the last 2 weeks, so I'm off to bed... nite nite orl!
***

Tuesday, 13 November 2018

Monday 12th & Tuesday 13th November 2018

Just got back from walking the pup and we walked a huge distance again... 350% and she made another friend in a bin man as well, so all in all, a decent start to the day with 250% already in the walkies bank and it's only the first day!

Just waiting for Steve (my carer!!) to fill up the 2 bottles of squash for me to take me morning cocktail of supplements with, then I can start writing again.  I'm really hoping to get at least 4 chapters written today so that I can treat myself to another J2O again!
***

That's me morning cocktail taken.  Only the Iron behaved this morning though!  The Calcium and Multi both needed 2.5 mouthfuls of squash each!  Not good at all  👎
***

I'm a quarter of the way to getting today's J2O now 'cos I've just finished writing the first chapter of the day, so gonna have me mince pie lunch then get back to it.
***

Forgot to update and post this yesterday, so I'm putting in two days worth today... sorry about that!
***

By the time I went to bed last night I'd written three chapters and was all set for the fourth until I took my pills.

They made me feel incredibly sick so I just went to bed and hoped I'd feel better today.

I don't  👎😒

Just to make matters worse, the pup has been showing me a great deal of Westitude this morning too.

She kept wanting to go under a car and when a cat shot across the road, she very nearly pulled me over!

We did 350% but that meant going past the bloody car 7 times and Mitzi trying to get under it 7 times.

Little cowbag!

However, yesterday's 250% added to todays 250% means there's already 500% in the bank after only 2 days!!

Gonna attempt to take my morning cocktail now then start on the writing... only 8 chapters to go now, which means that, in theory, I'll be finished by tomorrow, hopefully!
***

That's me morning cocktail taken.  The Calcium was a real PITA and took 3 or 4 mouthfuls of squash to get it all down.  The Iron went down really easily again... just a single mouthful, thankfully.  The Multi took two mouthfuls before it went down, so far from the best day, but also not the worst.

Gonna open my can of ginger beer now and hope that I can write 4 chapters today, so that I can reward myself with a J2O then I've just got the last 4 chapters tomorrow.

Wish me luck!
***

I'd forgotten just how well and quickly ginger beer works on nausea!

I opened the can and took a drink... within seconds it started to get to work!  Just had another mouthful and I'm wide awake and totally nausea-free now!  Within 4 minutes I've gone from being ready to lose yesterday's lunch, being tired and no motivation at all, to being wide awake, feeling absolutely fine and having my motivation back!

It's Sainsbury's own brand fiery ginger beer and costs waaay less than brand names but works pretty much instantly!  WTG Sainsbury's!
***

First chapter of the day written, so as long as I write another 3 today and 4 tomorrow, I'll have completed 150% of NaNo in exactly 2 weeks which is sooo good and a huge relief compared to my first ever NaNo when I didn't plan a word of it.  yWriter is a vital piece of software to me now!
***

Just taken my prescription and less than 5 minutes later I had to crack open the ginger beer.  Only written 1.5 chapters today so I doubt it'll be a J2O reward night and I very much doubt I'll write 6 chapters by bedtime tomorrow, so it'll be 75k words in 15 days, rather than 2 weeks, but even that ain't too bad!
***

That's the second chapter written.  Not feeling sleepy yet, so hopefully I'll get the third chapter finished before I head to bed, but doubt I'll get the fourth one written again  😞
***

That's the third chapter written so I'm going to bed now.

Nite nite orl!
***

Sunday 11th November 2018

Already taken my morning cocktail... they were slightly troublesome to swallow today but that's it for the morning when the puppy decides to come for her walk with me - she's being a stroppy bitch right now though! *sigh*
***

That's the puppy walk, eventually.

200% today, so add that to yesterday's 650% in the bank and we've got an incredible 750% in the bank again!

I'm pondering on increasing the 100% (two times up and down between our neighbours) to the current 150% (three times up and down between our neighbours) just to see how the puppy copes with it 'cos that extra 50% a day will help us to loose weight and build muscle slightly faster than we're doing atm.  Dunno for sure yet though.
***

That's the rubbish and recycling out now.  I cleared up the pup's poo alone yet again while it was still at least semi-solid (it's raining which turns the poo into semi-liquid which is a nightmare to clear up then.  It's been done now though, so I can concentrate on my writing now until I head to bed.

Wish me luck!
***

Only managed 3 chapters again but I'm going to bed now and hoping I'll be able to write the magic 4 chapters tomorrow!

Nite nite orl!
***

Saturday 10th November 2018

After 24 hours, the virus scan is 60% of the way through, so it's finished going through the stuck bit and it'll keep increasing throughout the day now so it's another late night but I will be able to do the back-ups and shut down tonight to give the battery a rest and let it cool down again.

Gonna see if the pup wants to go for her walk yet... it'll be a short walk today after yesterday's marathon!!
***

That's the senior pup walked and fed.  She came to get her harness on as soon as I called "walkies!" today and we did 200% so let's do some maths:  Yesterdays 550% plus today's extra 100% is 650% so as long as we do another 200% on the walk tomorrow there's another huge 750% in the bank!

So proud of our little girl!
***

Virus scan is up to 66% now, so that's 6%  in about 3 hours so it's definitely over the slow bit.  Hopefully it'll keep speeding through as I watch last night's Masterchef then as I write it will hopefully keep speeding!
***

Yep, it's doing 2% an hour so it'll be finished in... 32÷2=16 yeah?  So going by that it'll be done in 16 hours, which doesn't sound right to me... reckon it'll be about 10pm tonight again so 10 hours from nowish?
***

Ignore the previous maths, 'cos it's up to 69% now, so there's 31% left to do at 3% per hour makes it a more realistic 10 and a bit hours which takes us up to 10pm that I was thinking.  Gonna be a late night again but it's only once a week that I deliberately stay up late!
***

That's me morning cocktail taken... in the middle of the afternoon! lol
***

England are playing the All Blacks and England have scored the first try after less than 2 minutes!!

WTG England... keep up the fantastic work!
***

11.24pm and the virus scan and backups have only just finished!!

Can't see me being up before lunchtime tomorrow lol

Nite nite orl!
***

Friday, 9 November 2018

Friday 9th November 2018

Started the virus scan at just gone 8am, so hopefully it'll be finished at like 10pmish tomorrow.
***

I'm gonna walk the pup then take me supplements and get straight on with the writing.  Only got 5k left to write which is just over 3 chapters.

I'm not gonna say it'll be easy, 'cos that'd be tempting fate, but it does potentially mean that I'll be finished by about 6pm so that I can celebrate with a J2O and a nice hot bubble bath!
***

11% after 15 minutes and the pup is showing me Westitude again, so I'm gonna take me supplements first before I try again.
***

They all went down really easily this morning - 7 mouthfuls of squash in total for the 3 pills, including the mouthful I have before I start taking them... feeling sooo proud of myself now!
***

The pup's really not interested in going for a stroll yet, so I'll write a chapter then try again.

Stroppy cow lol
***

Just got back from taking the senior pup for her daily walkies and my legs are about ready to fall off now!

We did 50% and the pup wanted to come home, but I forced her to carry on walking one more up and down.

We did 100% then she carried on walking past the door.

Didn't stop then so we did 150%.

She carried on walking so that we did 200% which was great going and I was very happy with that.

But she carried on walking so we did 250% and my poor legs were going "one more up and down at the maximum" and started to ache.

I take notice of what my body says, so we did 300% and came in so that I could sit down and recover.  The pup wanted to keep walking but there was no way that would've been safe so we came home and I fed her.

I'm not planning on going further than the bathroom for the rest of the day now!

Here comes the maths:  yesterday there was 350% in the bank, add in today's 200% extra takes us up to a huge 550% after 5 days which is so totally awesome!
***

Gonna write and recover now, 'cos my knees and legs are aching like mad so don't want to risk moving too much today, just in case they refuse to hold me up and I fall to the ground, totally unable to move!
***

That's me prescription taken.  Was a bit of a PITA to swallow today, unfortunately  👎
***

After only 9 days I've already finished NaNo.  As of now, there's nothing officially challenging my creative mind, so I'm gonna celebrate with 2 J2O's and a burger at the end of this chapter and unofficially challenge myself to finish the full 75,000 words in 2 weeks.

Wish me luck!
***

Steve decided to go with Chinese instead of a burger like he promised an hour ago.  I'm at 51,000 words and I'm gonna celebrate with a long, hot, relaxing bubble bath after I've walked the pup in the morning.

No more pressure to write 6,000 words a day, I can just relax and slowly come out of the writing headspace to get ready for the ESA assessment.

But I did it!!
***

Thursday, 8 November 2018

Thursday 8th November 2018

We only managed to do 100% of the walk today 'cos the pup doesn't like getting rained on, but that's OK by me as long as she does at least 100% every day.  Still 350% in the bank too, so that's OK I reckon.  May not get to 750% in the bank this week, but any extra is good in my books, no matter how much or how little it is.

Gonna take me morning cocktail now then start my writing day again.  I doubt I'll get 6 chapters written today, prolly not even 5, but my aim is for at least 4 so that I can have my reward for writing 6,000 words in a day!
***

Just taken me supplements.  The Calcium was a bit of trouble to swallow, but the Iron and Multi were fine, thankfully.

It's almost 10am and I haven't written a single word yet though!  HHIS
***

It's taken 3 hours, but that's the first chapter of the day sorted, thankfully.  Hopefully the next 3 chapters will be easier, now that I'm in the writing headspace for the day.

Quarter of the way to achieving my reward now, thankfully.
***

Half way through the daily challenge I set myself now 'cos I've just finished the second chapter of the day.
***

Still virus and malware free, thankfully.  Call me paranoid to do a daily quick scan, but I'd rather be paranoid and safe than to not do the scans, get infected, lose everything and infect my friends 👌👍
***

Taken me prescription now... went down really easily tonight too which is an awesome change to the trouble I sometimes have taking it!
***

90% of the way through NaNo now.  Just 5,000 words left to write which'll happen tomorrow as long as I do 4 chapters again, then I'll celebrate in a big way with a relaxing, hot, bubble bath a day earlier than even I thought would happen.  If I don't finish the 5,000 words before 6pm-ish, I'll celebrate with a huge take away and 2 cans of J2O and a bubble bath on Saturday morning, after I've walked the pup.

So, so proud of myself.
***
