I've just heard back from the people who installed the central heating for me and apparently the air outside was warm enough for the system to use that rather than the electricity, which is a huuuge relief and hopefully means the start of lower electricity bills again.
It's currently 9.16am and I've used 85p of electricity since midnight, so it looks like the start of lower bills again, reassuringly.
