I've just had the first of up to 4 roofers come to give me a rough quote on the roof and apparently the back needs doing too because the original roofers from 2024 caused a serious amount of damage at the back as well as doing a half-arsed job at the front.
The first roofers quoted approx £11,000 plus scaffolding and chimney repair so looking at about £15,000 all in, but it'll be done properly and come with a 10-15 year guarantee, depending on what else they find up there.
They can do a fix of just the damaged bits and clear the gully which will take it down to about £2,000 but the entire roof really needs doing apparently.
He's going to put it in writing and mark it down as urgent because I'm already getting water in and the bad weather has barely started yet, but the water and my disability means that it's an urgent/emergency job that needs doing ASAP.
I've got one other roofer due out at 3pm so I'll see what he says, and another one due out "today" so I'll see what they say too, but it's gonna be a much bigger and more expensive job than I was thinking unfortunately.
