Book Review: "Repeat Prescription: Hilarious True Stories from a Country Practice" (Country Doctor Book 2) by Michael Sparrow

Kindle     Paperback

⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5

If you've already read any of my other recent book reviews, you'll already know that I start them all off in the same way - by saying that every book starts off with the full surgery-load of 5 stars and I'm always hopeful that they will all still be stitched firmly in place by the time I close the back cover.  You'll also know that I'm not shy about removing stars but I always give my reasons for doing so within the review, they don't just drop off for no reason.

I really enjoyed the first book in this trilogy and it was written so that I didn't have to remember what happened at the star of the book when I was three-quarters of the way through, they were mainly self-contained chapters which I prefer so that I can safely go to bed without worrying about forgetting what has already happened.

Let's get going shall we?

Ooh!  The first chapter was good... you need to be comfortable with naked bodies being talked about pretty much straight away though.

The second chapter was good too and I can't believe I'm already up to page 55!

Chapter three was veeery blood-soaked so I'll be having a disturbed night tonight!

Oh dear me... a famous film and brand have been used so off comes the first star.

Chapters four and five were a good start to today's reading and I'm looking forward to reading more after lunch.

Chapter seven was very much a "will he or won't he?" chapter and I'm still not sure even now that I've read it!

Just finished chapter 9 and I'm 71% of the way through and it's starting to get dark, so I'll leave the last 29% for tomorrow.

I suggest you don't read chapter 10 when you need a steady voice...

Chapter 11 brings life crashing into perspective... the patient was two men instead of one, thanks to the media.

Chapter 12 was all go but I'm relieved that it ended like it did.  Up to 95% now so I reckon I should be able to get the book finished and this review up before lunch with any luck.

Oh dear me... what a way to finish lol

A very, very good book that's a must-read for anyone in need of a bit of a breather from life over the course of three reading sessions...
