He's just tidying up now but...

...apparently it was an easy mistake to make by the original installers - some external ASHPs have PRV's on the external bit in which case soldering the internal heat pump thing would have been the right thing to do, but because mine doesn't have the PVR thing either externally or internally, they should have just put a pipe at a slight downwards angle into the safety valve and bingo, it wouldn't have happened.  Easy mistake to make apparently because there are so many varieties out there but it's all fixed and shouldn't hapen again.
