The emergency central heating bloke has just gone and instantly knew what had gone wrong, how to temporarily fix it (he isolated and bled the radiator) and is coming back tomorrow for the permanent fix. He quoted me £285 for the whole lot - brand new radiator, the "needed chemicals that should have been in there to start with 'cos there's no way the water should be running out that colour" as well as today's Sunday emergency call out and the installation tomorrow (if he can get the radiator from his suppliers today) or Tuesday (if he needs to order it in).
Basically, the initial installers didn't do a proper job and I've had to have 2 emergency repairs in the 3 years it's been fitted which just ain't right at all.
If needs be, I'll definitely be using this guy again!
I've definitely earned my reward of a drinking choccie now lol
