I gave up on the deep virus scan and started it again because...

...I accidentally opened my email programme twice (once yesterday afternoon and again this morning), which would have taken a lot longer for it to finish, so I rebooted and started it again.  I'm hoping it'll be finished by tomorrow lunchtime now.
