I've now got...

...a new, genuinely lightweight, genuinely cordless, Hoover (as in the brand name Hoover, as opposed to an independent brand) that was good to go straight out of the box and it looks like I might even be able to do the stairs with it too which is an unexpected bonus!

I'm gonna let my body recover before I take too many risks, but the hallway carpet is genuinely clean now and so is the carpet that I can get to in here too!  I'm not gonna do too much Hoovering in here until Steve's chair has gone, but within 15 minutes of it arriving it was put together and the carpets swept.

The minimal instructions said that it does hard floors too, so I tried it in the kitchen and it does genuinely work on hard floors, so if I accidentally drop some cereal onto the floor, I just need to get the vacuum cleaner out, Hoover it up and it'll be sorted.

Well worth every penny so far... triple what others cost but assuming it keeps going then it'll pay for itself within weeks!

I've also got home insurance that is cheaper and so much better value than the current one and I've saved £27 into the bargain too.  It wasn't the cheapest which was £116.07, but I got free legal and home emergency cover thrown in for the price, so all in all, a good day for me.  I'm absolutely wiped out now though, so I'm gonna have another early night in the hopes of 8 hours of sleep for the second night this week.

Today has been a good day for me and I'm feeling more positive mentally than I have done in a long time... long may it continue!  I'm gonna indulge in a mug of decaff tea for a change to celebrate I think.  I feel lighter and more able to cope and like I can breathe again now... like a ten tonne weight has crumbled away and taken the huge great black cloud with it.  If the experiment with the bath works on Monday and the washer-drier is equally as impressive on Tuesday then I really will feel able to cope with whatever life throws at me after the last couple of months and I won't be so worried about how long the hot water has been on for either!
