My carer has just gone and there were two of them this morning and I wasn't even asked if that was OK. They just barged their way into the house signed in and they said "OK, this is XYZ and I shadow her today" then put their PPE on and stood there talking to each other while I got dressed. When I was naked, the new one took my clothes of the rail and said "in these?" and I replied saying that I needed to get washed first and she was like "oh. KO" while I'm sat at the bottom of the stairs, shivering because she was blocking the kitchen doorway.
When I'd eventually finished getting washed they asked if I was ready to get dressed so I had to explain that I needed to get dried off first. "Oh. KO" came the reply.
When I'd got dried off, I went to get dressed and the shadowee asked if I needed help getting dressed and I thought "yes! She might even be a semi-useful one!" but the carer she was shadowing was like "no, clean sink" and I'm sat there thinking "so all you've actually done to support me today is wash the sink out that I'd already done before I dried myself eh?"
The total amount of support that I've had this morning is to get the sink washed out for the second time in 5 minutes, a sock put on backwards and inside out and my boot put on while my trouser leg was still around my knee.
Yep, a very supportive and caring pair today.
