We've unboxed and used our last new cooking device - a toasted sandwich maker.
I had toasted cheese sarnies and on the suggestion of a very good friend of mine, the chef spreaded the outside of the bread this time and it did work, but I think the bread needs to maybe be spreaded on both sides of both slices with more spread next time. The poor chef was getting stressed out after the first slice of bread disintegrated in his hands so he just put a small amount of spread on the outside of both slices and the block of cheese gave him a tough time of things too.
I'm grateful that he didn't throw it through the window in a fit of frustration though and I'll definitely be having them again, but I wanna give it a go alone that time so that I can make a warm rapid meal in about 15 minutes, rather than getting more and more unsteady and unsafe on my feet. We haven't done too badly without the oven for the last week or so really!
